After Infrastructure Surrender, Republicans
Deserve to Lose

Original Article

Republicans have helped put President Biden several steps closer to passing his top legislative priority in voting multiple times to advance an unnecessary and costly infrastructure bill that will pave the way for Democrats to pass their multi-trillion dollar social agenda. This is a pathetic surrender that has been built on a mountain of lies. Republicans who voted for this monstrosity claimed that the infrastructure bill they negotiated would be fully paid for. It isn’t. They claimed it would narrowly focus on traditional infrastructure such as fixing roads and bridges. It doesn’t. They claimed it would help convince moderate Democrats to abandon Biden’s larger bill. It won’t.

We the people should win one every now and again, but we are constantly being betrayed by our own people! They can’t hold the line even when it is a righteous thing to do. Time after time we are betrayed and yet, we are told we must support those same traitors because if we do not, democrats will win. So? Show me the difference between these traitors and any democrat? At least, the democrat won’t lie to you. The individuals who signed this monstrosity are without honor, character or integrity. Their loyalty is certainly not to this country. No one could in good conscience sign this horrific irresponsible spending bill. My loathing for these corrupt politicians could not be more than it is now. They are the worst of the worst. Putting this country on the path to socialism, is a betrayal of their oath of office. They should feel the wrath of all Americans who have been betrayed. It’s time for them to know they have betrayed us. They expect us to grouse on social media but they never believe we would ever confront them. They need to be made to explain their vote to their constituents.

The temptation with an omnibus pork bill is always there but this one had too many free goodies for the weak-knee'd to pass up. Gotta give the dems credit - they know that the simple introduction of such a bill gives it life. The media then run with it and the bill must be passed - bad press for any fiscal conservative who objects to it. makes me sick.

Did anyone here honestly expect a different outcome here? They don't even bother listening to the peasants anymore, because they don't give a DAMN about your vote or mine. Votes are irrelevant. They have devised a perfect self-sustaining system where no voter is needed. They will continue to pit America against each other as a distraction while raping everyone for their own good. How many times does this have to happen before people understand? Throw out one bad 'Republican', another PoS takes his place. One commie out? Another enters stage left. It's all a complete sham, but millions still believe there is a choice between two sides. What good has the Republican Party done for America since the time of Reagan? Anything?

New York’s COVID Emergency Eviction and Foreclosure Prevention Act says that if a tenant self-certifies his or her financial hardship, landlords generally cannot contest that certification in court. Instead, the tenant is free to remain in the property without paying rent. Today, the Supreme Court lifted this particular ban on evictions. The Court did not disturb the provision in the same law that instructs New York courts to entertain a covid-related hardship defense in eviction proceedings, assessing a tenant’s income prior to covid, income during covid, liquid assets, and ability to obtain government assistance. The landlords who brought the case did not seek such relief.

Newly confirmed conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett was charged with reviewing the legal challenge to the college’s rule and refused to block it. No other justices on the bench offered a dissenting opinion. The case originated when a group of Indiana students asked the court for an emergency order striking down the mandate, claiming that the potential harm of inoculation exceeded the merits of protection against the disease for their age demographic.

The Texas Senate voted to advance a major Republican voting bill on Thursday in an 18-11 vote, along party lines. Senate Bill 1 passed after state Senator Carol Alvarado finished a 15-hour talking filibuster in an attempt to delay the vote. Filibuster rules prohibited Albarado from eating, sitting down, leaning on her desk, taking a bathroom break or speaking about subjects unrelated to the bill. The all-night filibuster came one day after Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan, a Republican, signed arrest warrants for 52 Democrats who did not return during the fourth day of the House’s second special session. The Democrats’ absence left the chamber eight members short of a quorum.

You’ll be surprised to find that this isn’t the case. Despite the fact that her picture was on the screen with her name in big, bold letters, Biden still referred to her as “Jennifer” as he thanked her for the work that “you’ve done and continue to do.” It appeared that Biden confused Whitmer with the former governor of Michigan, Jennifer Granholm, who held that position from 2003-2011. The reason for Khalilzad’s haste is that the rate of collapse by the Afghan army has accelerated beyond anyone’s imaginings from just a couple of weeks ago. The Taliban took its 7th provincial capital on Tuesday and show absolutely no sign of slowing down their military offensive in order to negotiate a power-sharing deal with the Afghan government.
