Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene accused of ‘trespassing’ at prison holding Capitol rioters

Original Article

A group of GOP lawmakers was turned away from a Washington DC prison as they attempted to inspect the conditions of Capitol rioters in custody. Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene were among the group warned they were trespassing and obstructing the entrance to the correctional facility. The pair live-tweeted their attempt, along with Louie Gohmert and Paul Gosar, to make contact with prisoners held on charges related to the 6 January attack on the Capitol.

Comments:

This is not the best article about what happened, but it is very difficult to find anything in an "accepted" source. Pretty much blacked out. I watched these events unfold live on the internet. First they tried a press conference at DOJ but were drowned out and overrun. Then they went to visit the prisoners themselves and were denied access. We need to stand with these wrongfully imprisoned and horribly mistreated patriots and support the Congress members with the stones (you too Marjorie!) to defend them and look into this outrage. Every American should be terrified and angered about what is happening here.

EVENTUALLY they have to let these people out, and unless they've lobotomized them - that's when the excrement will hit the fan.

What Pelosi does not realize is that she has damaged her party beyond repair. People will walk on glass to get to the voting booth to vote them out of office. I said this a thousand times before, the democrats ALWAYS overplay their hand. Just remember, her actions are of a desperate person.

The deal is...the Government has so much data (14,000 hours) that they cannot sort it and make it accessible. These persons arrested are so GREAT a danger to the Democracy that they MUST be held until the case against each of them is properly filed. They have done something terribly wrong. We don't know what it is. But because they have broken the law (we don't know what law) we have to keep them in solitary confinement until we figure it out. Meanwhile they get no visits, no lawyers, no charges, and no trial. There. Done. Government safe.

how does anyone "trespass" on public land or in public buildings and to add to that, they never ever entered the building, ergo: how is that remotely considered "trespassing"?

This was another failed showpony performance by political knuckleheads. They show up in suits, and when admitted to the lobby they go into politician statement mode before the bulls move them out. Meanwhile, Kerosene Maxine gets national pub by getting herself arrested for "voters rignts" and hauled off by the cops. If these amateurs are going to play the game, play it. Force the bulls to cuff you, and DC Metro cops to haul you off while you demand justice for those incarcerated. I want to hear Louie Gohmert screaming "You're hurting me!" as he's cuffed and stuffed. But then that might go on their permanent record and "real conservatives" will hold that against them. And, of course, they back the blue. Meanwhile, in cells in the DC Slammer...

When FBI agents asked for permission to rip hundreds of safe deposit boxes from the walls of a Beverly Hills business and haul them away, U.S. Magistrate Steve Kim set some strict limits on the raid. The business, U.S. Private Vaults, had been charged in a sealed indictment with conspiring to sell drugs and launder money. Its customers had not. So the FBI could seize the boxes themselves, Kim decided, but had to return what was inside to the owners.

University of Sydney researchers assessed behaviours and attitudes towards Covid regulations in 1,575 people in Australia, Canada, the UK, and the US between April and May last year, during the first wave of the pandemic. Their study, published in the journal Plos One, found that about 10% of people reported being non-compliant with restrictions. These ind
