Minnesota AG sues bars that
defied Walz ban on dine-in service

On Thursday, Ellison's office announced that he has filed lawsuits against the Lakeville restaurant and Neighbors on the Rum in Princeton. Later in the day, he filed for a temporary restraining order to force Alibi to close. Both businesses opened to in-person dining in defiance of Gov. Tim Walz's executive order meant to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Minnesota. On Wednesday, Walz adjusted the order that expires at 11:59 p.m. Friday to continue prohibiting indoor dining at restaurants until Jan. 11.  Correction*

Comments:

The government here in MN is absolutely dictatorial. How can the AG sue over orders? These are not even laws. I admired the resturants and bars defying the governors "orders". Now the heavy hand of the AG has come down on them. $10,000/day fines. This is how the entire country will be run if we do not stop the cheaters from taking over.

These lockdown fascists like Gavin, Ellison, et al, keep changing the rules in the middle of the COVID panic game while running zig-zag, carrying the goalposts. More and more people are suffering and have lost patience with these commie-klowns who have no compassion. I never met a liberal with a conscience; they’re all so full of themselves.

This gov control is getting out of bounds! All of these leftist Governors and their ilk have set forth "rules" instead of LAWS and they enforce them with an iron fist. It's GOT to STOP.

The MN governor (who hid during the riots) thinks he's being generous by allowing the bars and restaurants to reopen at 25-50% capacity ONLY in OUTDOOR dining! This is Minnesota! Outdoor dining in December is supposed to rescue these bar and restaurant owners?!

When FBI agents asked for permission to rip hundreds of safe deposit boxes from the walls of a Beverly Hills business and haul them away, U.S. Magistrate Steve Kim set some strict limits on the raid. The business, U.S. Private Vaults, had been charged in a sealed indictment with conspiring to sell drugs and launder money. Its customers had not. So the FBI could seize the boxes themselves, Kim decided, but had to return what was inside to the owners.

A federal appeals court in Georgia has approved an expedited review of pro-Trump attorney Sidney Powell’s request for a forensic review of voting machines in three counties. Powell filed a lawsuit last week alleging that Dominion Election Systems voting machines used in the 2020 election in Georgia are insecure and allow foreign agents to meddle in the U.S. election. U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten Sr. issued an order on Sunday restricting officials in Georgia’s Cherokee, Cobb, and Gwinnett counties from resetting Dominion Election Systems voting machines because of the lawsuit.

In his “Safe Learning Plan” released Thursday, Gov. Tim Walz said state officials are taking a “localized, data-driven approach” to reopening schools amid the global pandemic, with a goal of getting students back in the classroom while minimizing the spread of the virus.

An ammunition shortage that began during the coronavirus pandemic and the heated 2020 election reportedly continues to plague manufacturers as Americans remain committed to stockpiling as many guns and as much ammo as possible.“It’s widely known the ammunition shortages continue. There is still a lot of interest in firearms,” Smith & Wesson CEO Mark Smith said this week to Fox Business Network. The data backs his statement. A survey conducted by the market research firm Southwick Associates in April found that, out of 1,800 ammo customers surveyed, 75 percent had already experienced out-of-stock issues this year, down by only 5 percent from the record high recorded in 2020.

Governor Abbott threatened to defund the Texas Legislature after Texas Democrats walked out of the legislative session rather than take a vote on election reform laws. When they broke quorum and shut down the session, Abbott said that if legislators weren’t going to do their jobs, they shouldn’t be paid. Friday Abbott made good on that threat. The elections bill was a top priority for the governor during this year’s session. Texas Democrats decided to cut and run, breaking quorum, instead of voting on Senate Bill 7. They knew that the Republicans had the votes to pass the legislation – both the Texas House and the Texas Senate hold Republican majorities.

Disney has been accused of pricing out loyal customers by targeting affluent families with $800 hotel rooms and $100 sandwiches at its theme parks, despite having scaled back its 'magic' since the pandemic began. A family vacation to Disneyland - once the pinnacle of summertime for middle-class American families - will today set a family of four back more than $6,000. With the average annual income now standing at $5,725 a month, this means a visit to the so-called 'happiest place on earth' is increasingly out of reach to the average American family.
