Since the onset of SARS-CoV-2 (hereinafter the CCP-virus) various figures on the political left have issued proclamations unsupported by science. Experts have asserted things that contravene long-established infectious disease precepts, statements an uncritical press, eager to support the Left’s preferred narrative, freely mimics. Reputable professional sources have produced one-sided opinions only to have to retract them later. Authoritative sources have made statements in this time frame that have been flatly contradictory. (Dr. Fauci co-authored a paper stating that most deaths in the 1917-1918 flu pandemic were due to bacterial pneumonia, not the virus; he has since changed his position on the risks of bacterial infection from wearing masks.)

Comments:

The comment that wearing a cloth mask to stop a virus is "like trying to use a chain link fence to stop mosquitos" is not accurate.
Chain link fence has 2" openings. To be properly proportioned to the virus' size, the chain link openings would need to be increased 17".
LOL!

I just saw a Vox article by Ian Millhiser that might explain what's going on here... "The courts are destroying America's ability to fight pandemics" So, the left is using a pandemic, made in China with U.S. taxpayer's money and personally delivered by the head of the NIH, in order to force Courts bend to any "evil" identified by the Federal Government bureaucracies under the auspices of the "public good." Gee, how could this ever be abused? s/o

It is no wonder that many are experiencing a sense of unreality. We can’t believe the “experts”. The tiny actual death rate reported with Covid 19 and “variants” is so widely variable it is astounding. The coercion to force masks, which have never been found or demonstrated to be helpful to prevent Covid in any age range, on us and our poor children, is outrageous. The vaccination percentage seems to have no relationship to the infection incidence or death rate, and none can be believed or reproducible! Discouraging the use of inexpensive and proven effective treatments, hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin among others, is inexplicable to any thinking person. If we survive, this will all become clear with time. Most of it is a farce, that somebody is benefitting from, politically, financially or philosophically.

Given that non-surgical masks are physically permeable by coronaviruses, one would expect some American entrepreneur to have pursued a better solution. At the very least, should not more 75-nm masks be appearing to meet demand? I am genuinely baffled as to why this has not happened. Have they been "discouraged" from doing so? Is the cost of producing such a product above expected salability? Is there some other theory I have not thought of? When American free enterprise fails to offer a "better-mousetrap" there has to be a reason.

#5, it is unlikely that a super mask, as you suggest, would be worn properly. It would have to be sealed tightly on all borders of the face and neck. The inappropriate touching is best shown in the cash poker games televised. where the masked up players are constantly handling their chips handled by other players, and touching their masks. It is almost a parody created by Fauci. And just imagine how school children will handle their masks. Moist fabric growing germs.

Why Democrats Don’t Care About Crime 13 replies

American cities are reeling from increased crime ranging from burglary and arson to murder. Americans, rightly, are concerned -- except for Democrat officials. San Francisco, a bastion of progressive stupidity, is among the hardest-hit cities -- yet the San Francisco lunatics who run the city claim anyone concerned with rising crime is a white supremacist. This is common among the Democrat intelligentsia and leadership. To understand why Democrats don’t care about crime, we must turn to two prophets of the new anti-American ideology. Antonio Gramsci and Michel Foucault are essential to understand to enter the deluded mind of the modern progressive and why they are happy

There is something we are not being told that would explain the elites' extreme push to ensure that we all — regardless of age, health, or vulnerability — get vaccinated against the coronavirus, a virus that has an overall survivability rate of 99.8 percent globally (higher for young people), on a par with the seasonal flu. There has to be. Governments and media have never before reacted in this manner, even for flus, diseases, plagues, and pandemics that were more lethal than COVID-19. I'm not a conspiracy theorist. In fact, not so long ago, I mocked those who were.

A Japanese company has started human trials of the first once-a-day pill for Covid-19 patients, joining Pfizer Inc. and Merck & Co. in the race to find treatments for the disease. Osaka-based Shionogi & Co., which helped develop the blockbuster cholesterol drug Crestor, said it designed its pill to attack the Covid-19 virus. It said the once-a-day dosing would be more convenient. The company said it is testing the drug and any side effects in trials that began this month and are likely to continue until next year. Shionogi is months behind Pfizer and Merck, which have started later-stage tests of pills to treat Covid-19.

Flagler County deputies responded to calls from concerned citizens who spotted a strange vessel on the beach in the Hammock area, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said. The vessel’s sole occupant was discovered safe inside without any injuries. He told authorities that he had set off for New York from the St. Augustine area before encountering "complications" that brought him back to shore, the sheriff’s office said. The seafarer, identified as Reza Baluchi of Central Florida, told FOX35 Orlando he was attempting to run in his floating "bubble vessel"

Thus, it should come as little surprise that the COVID-loving mask cultists on the left would stoop to spinning false or misleading tales about Wuhan Virus doom and gloom in order to help keep as much of the nation as possible on edge. Dr. Brytney Cobia of Alabama seems to be such a leftist. This past Sunday, Dr. Cobia posted the following on her Facebook page:

Stephen Stills's brooding and foreshadowing lyrics to the song "For What It Is Worth" from 1966 seem to bear a great deal of relevance today. The band Buffalo Springfield sang this song as a challenge to the political power structure in the late '60s. Stills's words seem to be very relevant and timely in 2021 as the patriots are left out of the election process and isolated from power, denied power, and are now looking around. Many patriots are now thinking "There's Something Happening Here," but are just not clear on what it is, what is coming, and what the results will be.

As summer reaches peak heat, a recent piece in Time magazine on air conditioning exemplifies the rot pervading academia and threatening the nation. Eric Dean Wilson, an instructor and graduate student at City University of New York, wrote about how air conditioning will destroy the planet. His essay demonstrates the confluence of such intellectually fashionable ideas as environmentalist extremism, critical race theory, equity, and the condemnation of capitalism and “white supremacy.” Wilson has no training in climate science or mechanical engineering. Yet he teaches “climate-themed writing and environmental justice” at the City University of New York. Wilson describes his recent book

It is now over a year and a half since we first learned of a new disease that proceeded to spread worldwide and wreak havoc on our civilization. Actually, it wasn't the disease that caused such destruction, but rather the heavy-handed actions by governments across the globe to employ questionable measures they justified as necessary to protect their populations. We can now employ hindsight to see what worked and what didn't and learn what we can. As serious as the disease itself was, in many ways, the responses were far more severe, with longer-lasting consequences. If we do not learn our lessons now,

Perhaps it’s because I grew up surrounded by extraordinarily tough people, but I found myself singularly unmoved by the spectacle in the House on Tuesday, which reminded me of a bad mash-up of Dr. Phil, Oprah, and BLM-produced soap opera, rather than a legitimate inquiry into an event that Democrats have seized upon to consolidate their power by destroying their opposition. As sobbing congressmen and Capitol Police officers took turns talking about their psychic injuries, I was alternately embarrassed for them if they were really that weak, and frightened of them if they were that sociopathic as a pathway to power.
