Did you know that black people are not going to be allowed to vote in America anymore? At least in states controlled by Republicans? Sounds a bit unlikely, but that’s a conclusion you might have come to if you took seriously what President Joe Biden said in Philadelphia Tuesday. Biden decried Republicans’ proposed changes to election laws as “the 21st-century Jim Crow assault” that tries “to suppress and subvert the right to vote in fair and free elections, an assault on democracy.” This is, to be polite, unhinged nonsense. Biden is old enough to remember what real Jim Crow voter suppression was like. It meant

The really big lie is that Trump lost by 7 million votes. He actually lost by about 35000, the margins Arizona, Wisconsin and Georgia. If he wins those states, there is an EC tie and the House of Representatives decides, on a state by state basis. The Republicans had a majority of the state delegations in 2020. All three of those states had major irregularities in voting. It is not a stretch to say that Trump actually would have won all three if illegal votes were not counted.

A Minnesota fourth-grade student and her mother expressed concern to their local school board after her class was given an "equity survey" and students were told not to tell her parents about the activity. Fourth-grader Hayley Yasgar told "Fox & Friends" on Monday, sitting alongside her mother Kelsey, that the questions were confusing and it made her "very nervous and uncomfortable" when the students were told not to tell their parents. "The survey asked questions that some students didn’t understand. Even after hearing an explanation from their teacher, some still couldn't comprehend the survey questions," The Center Square reported.

The Pentagon is reportedly working with an extremism analysis company that considers the web search "the truth about Black Lives Matter" and others to be signs of interest in or engagement with White supremacism. According to Defense One, the contractor Moonshot CVE, which has ties to the Obama Foundation, is working on data that would identify which military bases and branches have the most troops searching for domestic extremist content. While that particular project's contours are unclear, the company previously released a June report, in conjunction with the left-leaning Anti-Defamation League, on purported "White supremacy trends in the United States."

Former U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams said coronavirus mask guidance may be "premature" or "wrong" in the face of potentially dangerous new variants. Adams served as surgeon general under former President Donald Trump, taking a prominent role throughout the early phase of the pandemic. He recently took to Twitter to voice his own regrets and concerns over mask mandates since then. "Last year Tony Fauci and I famously, prematurely, & wrongly advised against masks," Adams wrote in a rare admission of a misstep. "I felt it was the best call at the time, but now regret it."

Missouri Rep. Cori Bush spent nearly $70,000 on private security over the past three months as she advocated for defunding the police, campaign filings show. Bush's campaign sent $54,120.92 in payments between April 15 and June 28 for "security services" to RS&T Security Consulting, a New York-based firm with a mysterious online presence, Federal Election Commission records released Thursday show. The Democrat's campaign also paid $15,000 to Nathaniel Davis for "security services" over the same time period. The $69,120 in security payments accounted for more than a third of Bush's $197,000 in campaign expenditures during the second quarter, the FEC records show. It's also nearly double what her campaign spent

History and a handful of issues threaten the Democrats’ narrow congressional majorities in next year’s midterm elections. Even though President Joe Biden’s job approval ratings remain solid if unspectacular, standing at 52.6% in the RealClearPolitics polling average and 51.3% in FiveThirtyEight’s, the first midterm election has tended to go against the president’s party since the 1930s. But Democrats are facing major headwinds beyond past precedent as they seek to hold on to their 50-50 split in the Senate — only Vice President Kamala Harris’s tiebreaking vote gives them control — and nine-vote margin over Republicans in the House.

It’s not easy to run a hideous dictatorship and still have fans and defenders in fashionable quarters, but the Castro dictatorship has managed it all of these decades. The mass, spontaneous protests that broke out all over the country last weekend are yet another sign that the Cuban government lacks all legitimacy. In Cuba, it is the government versus the people, and lo, all these years, Castro’s apologists have been with the government. They have romanticized Fidel Castro, the founder father of Cuba’s junta. They have swallowed its propaganda. They have made excuses for it. They have looked away from its crimes. And they have blamed America for its manifest failures.
