Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards vetoed a bill passed by the bipartisan state lawmakers that would have nixed the permit requirement for carrying a concealed handgun. The governor, a Democrat, said he’s a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and an “enthusiastic outdoorsman and hunter,” but he can’t support permitless concealed carry. “I simply cannot support carrying a concealed carry firearm without proper education and safety training,” he said in a statement. “Our current system strikes the right balance of ensuring that people can bear arms while also keeping reasonable permitting and training processes in place …

What is wrong with the people of Louisiana? How did this lie-beral Demon-Rat get elected governor there?!?!?!? Hopefully the legislature will over-ride the veto and put him in his place -- until the voters can truly put him in his place (which is to never serve in public office i Louisiana again)!!!

The safety course and fire arm training is easy and it takes a little time and effort, both my wife and I did it on a Saturday morning. We have a lifetime permit. I'm not sure the training and the fire arm safety course isn't a good idea. While we were there a woman couldn't pass the test at the ranger (hitting a target at 6 feet 80% of 60 shots). I don't want that woman with a gun if she can't hit a target 6 feet away.

I have to do 8-hours every 5 years in Illinois, #2. It's an infringement. State laws cannot supersede the 2nd Amendment, even though there are 20,000+ that do. The only legal action states can pursue is to follow the Constitution. Requiring me to have a permit to exercise a Constitutional right is unconstitutional, regardless of how well-meaning the intent may be. If people feel that 2A needs to be modified to include mandatory training and/or permits to carry a weapon, then there are two recourses: Pass a constitutional amendment, or open a constitutional convention. The right to keep and bear arms, unfettered from the constraints of government, is one of the highest rights ensconced in and affirmed by the USC. The founders called it out above just about every other God given right. No amount of rationalizing, nor well-meaning intent, changes that.

Goobernor Lockdown loves to control people. The largest slaughter houses in LA are NOLA and Baton Rouge. Guess what, there is an unwritten no permit law there. Gangbangers never worry about the silly permit. But let a law abiding citizen have the same right, well can't have that. There are many bills Goobernor Lockdown has veto and there is a better than usual chance the legislature will hold a veto session to override his vetos. Might get interesting in LA soon.

I'm not against anybody (except a felon) from owning a gun, but to carry it on the streets should take some simple training, bullets are dumb if you miss your target you could make matters worse.

Most of the training I've seen is Boy Scout level common sense, don't point the gun at anybody, always treat it like it's loaded... etc. A gun permit should accomplish one thing, keep guns and lunatics separated.

I believe my governor is racist. This veto adversely affects law abiding Blacks, more than other citizens.

Federal prosecutors have applied a little-used law against a man accused of obstructing the congressional proceedings on Jan. 6, asserting he transported a gun and used it in furtherance of a civil disorder. In a superseding indictment (pdf) against Guy Reffitt released this week, the Texas man was charged with two violations of federal civil disorder law for actions allegedly taken in Washington on Jan. 6. Authorities said Reffitt violated the law against transporting “any firearm, or explosive or incendiary device, knowing or having reason to know or intending that the same will be used unlawfully in furtherance of a civil disorder.”

WASHINGTON — President Biden said on Thursday that his administration would begin relocating thousands of Afghan interpreters, drivers and others who worked with American forces outside the country in an effort to keep them safe while they apply for entry to the United States. “Those who helped us are not going to be left behind,” Mr. Biden told reporters at the White House. With the American military in the final phases of withdrawing from Afghanistan after 20 years of war, the White House has come under heavy pressure to protect Afghan allies from revenge attacks by the Taliban and speed up the lengthy and complex process of providing them special immigrant visas.

In a contentious three to two vote, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners (CCBOCC) agreed on June 22 to postpone the vote on a proposed ordinance that would establish Collier County as a Bill of Rights sanctuary. Several people have written to CTH for an economic review of our current status. Below this post are two primary precursor articles [Primary One and Primary Two] which outline the economic dynamic in play and how we can look forward with accuracy to what is likely to happen. Despite the deflective talking points by the professional financial pundits this massive spike in inflation is entirely predictable due to Biden economic policy and Biden monetary policy. Keep in mind the FED has already said in April they would “support inflation” but that’s because while they will not say it openly they know there’s no way to stop it.

In April of this year the federal reserve announced they will support the economic agenda of the Biden administration by allowing rapid inflation. The FED was trying to provide cover for JoeBama’s economic plan. The era when the FED could impact inflation is long past. However, the Joe Biden policy impact will be clear, immediate and concise. The U.S. middle-class and blue-collar worker are about to be crushed under rising prices for consumable products. Increases in inflation hit the working class (Main St) much harder than the investment class (Wall St)(Snip) multinationals benefit from U.S. inflation as it puts pressure on domestic companies to ship their manufacturing overseas.

Reposting an earlier article by request as more people are starting to understand why CTH has focused on the financial motivations behind the political ideology for over a decade. It is critical that people understand the landscape. Underline it. Study it. Research the issues and teach everyone about it. Consider if you will, the backdrop of current U.S. politics; the influence of Wall Street and the multinationals who align with globalism; the reality of K-Street lobbyists writing the physical legislation that politicians sell to Americans; and then overlay what you are witnessing as those same multinationals now attack the foundation of our constitutional republic. The one issue that frustrates me personally; amid the known deep weeds and moves of the RNC as a club and their vitriolic hatred for the Tea Party before and MAGA movement now; is why President Trump continues to express confidence in Ronna McDaniel. Yes, there is always going to be intra-party factions within the Republican system as a whole. However, the (at best) 10 to 20% of the club establishment, the Wall Street Multinational faction, are toxic to the objectives of restorative Americanism. The club elites, and this includes current RNC head Ronna McDaniel, simply hate the vulgarian middle-class and the base of the movement.

I believe that most AT readers are familiar with the term, but for those who need a brief refresher, a useful idiot, as defined by Wikipedia, "is a derogatory term for a person perceived as propagandizing for a cause without fully comprehending the cause's goals, and who is cynically used by the cause's leaders." In my opinion, this definition can be applied to a majority of the young, brainwashed radicals who have no idea about the true history of Marxism
