When I was a child, I made the mistake, as many children do, of thinking that the actors I saw in movies were in some way responsible for their lines. (Snip)
His job is to act the way someone tells him to act, and to say what someone tells him to say.
And that brings us to the picture of the G7 leaders on the beach in Cornwall. Nobody who watches the film of these people arriving, coming down the boardwalk carefully spaced, hygienically elbow-bumping in lieu of shaking hands, and finally taking up positions for their photo op—nobody would believe these people are world leaders. Because they aren’t.

There hasn’t been a leader on the world stage since The President.
Better to call them “rulers.”

The G7 meeting was like the blind leading the blind. Now they are all calling for building back better and in some cases more "feminine". We all need to be more kind and gentle as we build back from Covid lockdowns. Really? I'm sure Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea are all cowering in fear over the feminizing of the US, Europe, NATO, and other places that formerly kept them in check. Donald Trump was the school playground bully compared to these fools. No wonder they are so welcoming to Joe Biden; he is as foolish and weak or worse than they are. Someone needs to step up and put the fear of God into Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea. Unfortunately that leader (Donald Trump) is no longer a part of the G7 meetings.

Thank you for posting! Mr. Galernter’s observations about Boris Johnson hilariously true. He looks and talks like a buttered scone — lol.
The last two paragraphs are the most important of the piece. I hope others agree and will vote appropriately as my household intends to do.

Only Democrats do the stupid "elbow bumping". If someone came up to me and wanted to do that, I would put out my hand to shake. If they didn't like that, they could go screw themselves!

The article certainly explains the current chaos throughout the world right now. The batch of actors leading countries right now are inept to lead. Who can trust any of them?

I have liked Gelernter’s POV and writings for quite a while. Glad to see others reading (!) and feeling the same way….
Those of us who post a lot get our happies when we see LDotters reading and sharing opinions that show they’ve done that… Otherwise we’re wasting our time posting. :-)

OK. It’s all there at the link. But this is just too powerful to not be featured. Highlighted. This is why this article should be sent on to everyone we know and acted upon by those of us here at Lucianne. Tapping away on our keyboards in order to post complaints is not enough:
If this does worry you, the way to correct it is by taking out the lowest rung of the corruption ladder. And that is not local Democrats but local Republicans: Weak and flaccid Republican politicians make Biden possible by cooperating with people who actively hate America. They cooperate out of a love of politics. They cooperate out of a desire to keep their jobs, even when their party is not in power. And some, no doubt, cooperate because they get paid to cooperate.
If you have Republicans representing you at the local and state level, know who they are and know how they acted after the 2020 election. If they have been willing to go along with the sham, if they’ve urged you to unite and move on, they need to go. They are America’s weakest links, the parts of our political system that make every other facet of corruption and fraud possible.
This is a tough thing to ask, because most Americans do not like to spend their time in politics. They have other things to do. They prefer building their own lives to bossing other people around. But we must force ourselves to get involved: Organize a campaign to recall every Republican who supported the election fraud either by action or inaction. Primary every Republican who is beyond recall. Leave not a man standing who did not stand for America.
The pandemic is just a taste of what’s to come. The 2020 election was our wakeup call. And the G7 summit—that’s just a reminder of what happens every day we allow actors to take the place of leaders.
Our real enemy is apathy.

When I see these "world leaders," the old Platters song "The Great Pretender" comes to mind.

Sadly, the only true world leader these days is Putin!!!
He may be an evil Communist all the way to his black little heart, but he is still strong, has a set of brass cajones, and always puts his nation first!!!
The G7 "leaders" are a bunch of panty-waist PC fools!!!
God I truly miss President Trump -- the only world leader who had the brass cajones to stand toe-to-toe with Putin and not blink!!!

They aren’t running the western world. They are run by the people who really are running the western world—people whose names we don’t know.
Those names are known only among themselves and Ghislaine Maxwell.
