New York moves closer
to slavery reparations

New York took a step closer toward reparations for slavery on Wednesday. The state Assembly passed a bill, sponsored by Assemblyman Charles Barron, that would set up a commission to study slavery and its impact on Black New Yorkers. It would have the commission determine the amount of reparations and who should get them. “Some people say, ‘well I didn’t oppress you, my European ancestors came at the turn of the century. Why should I have to pay?’ I don’t care if you came here last night,” Barron said. “You benefited from the ill-gotten gains.”(Snip) Five political appointees would be on the commission

“You benefited from the ill-gotten gains.” So did the descendants of the slaves here. If not for slavery they would still be in Africa living in mud huts under corrupt dictatorships and slaughtering each other in tribal warfare. Odd how almost no black wants to emigrate to Nigeria, et al.

If nothing else, the philosophy of the Left in the US has consistently illustrated the Law of Unintended Consequences. The desire for a solution "Now" without any thought or consideration of the repercussions is what makes their ideas so dangerous to them as well. If NY (or ANYWHERE) gives reparations, it is a tacit approval that we owe "Them" money. Only a fool would think that the amount given will satisfy the beast. It would be just the 1st installment. Once admitting they deserve it, they will always deserve it.

One of the reasons you never pay blackmailers. It never stops. And the feral tribe of American blacks (not to be confused with those blacks who are successful and accused of, 'acting white') have their problems not due to the false canard of 'racism' but their gullibility and stupidity in listening to their ancestor's owner's descendants known as the democrats. I might point out blacks immigrating from modern day Africa are generally successful here and don't view American blacks from the feral tribes with favor.

Are desendents of former Irish slaves going to be included? Or is this another example of pandering to the perpetually aggrieved 'donuffins?' As for my benefiting for something that happened 250 years ago, I don't think of paying exorbitant taxes so a bunch of 'donuffins' can live a good life, as a benefit.

Slavery was legal worldwide once upon a time. In many parts it still is legal. How will a claimant prove they are blood relatives of slaves in America? Sounds impossible. Oh if you are a Negro you get it no problem. Black Slaves Matter.

A friend and I visited the Gettysburg battlefield last week. We saw hundreds if not thousands of visitors. I remember seeing two blacks. As my great-grandfather was wounded fighting for the Union, I refuse to pay reparations. So should descendants of veterans who fought for the Confederacy. Everyone reconciled at the reunion in 1913, two veterans even going to a hardware store to by a hatchet and then burying it on the field where their units had fought. Better view if before they take it down.

They will end up with most people who are other than Black and who actually do pay taxes in New York, once their income is taxed to pay for slavery reparations, moving out of the State of New York to someplace else; with New York being invaded by takers who don’t pay taxes, who think that they are going to be qualified to receive a lot of tax money paid by others. Good luck with that, as where is the State of New York going to then get the money to pay such reparations!

My family was in Russia and Germany getting slaughtered by the Czarists, then the communists and the Nazis and a few others here n there along the way if you go back further. No blacks did anything to help my family. I demand reparations from all blacks for the many generations of my family that suffered, were mass murdered, were robbed, were raped, were experimented on, were forced to convert, were barred from leaving, were treated as alien invaders in places they had lived for hundreds of years. Why did the blacks not help my family? Why do they not help us recover from their lack of help for hundreds of years? I don't care if they were busy on slave ships on their way here. They were freed eventually and still did nothing. They are guilty of crimes against my people and I demand justice from all blacks, everywhere. Starting with that idiot from New York. I want his home and bank account transferred to me immediately. For a start.

I’ve been all over this state (NY). I know of dozens of Underground Railroad stations, I have seen places Frederick Douglass spoke and where he is buried. So many little villages have monuments to those who served and were lost in the Civil War. Oswego County not a very populated place, then and now, had one of the highest casualty rates in the country. Harriet Tubman’s homestead is 45 minutes away. I could rant on and on but, I don’t really get reparations.

Vladimir Putin sat down with NBC News for his first on-camera interview with a western news agency in more than three years.Putin avoided public commentary during much of the Trump Administration, but less than six months into the Biden Administration he came out swinging at Biden and the US on a host of issues.
