Thanks to its increasing anti-police extremism, the Democrat Party has lost three influential voters in Virginia. The three influential voters — Sheriff Chip Shuler of Smyth County, Sheriff John McClanahan of Buchanan County and Sheriff Brian Hieatt of Tazewell County — were once all Democrats. But not any anymore.Shuler made his switch two Mondays ago when he formally filed a membership application with the Smyth County Republican Committee and the application was promptly approved, as reported by local station WJHL.“I am changing to the Republican Party because of the relentless attack on law enforcement by Democrats in Richmond and Washington. Lots of folks in the old South are Dems because their family have been Dems, and conservatives, for generations. The extreme leftist tilt of the current Dems are steadily driving people out.

Ok fine. But keep in mind that here in small town America, people change parties just to win elections. They have no ideological path at all except for what gets them or keeps them a job.

So, perhaps there is hope that Virginia may once again become a sane, conservative state. May have to exclude the top left part that “work” in Washington. If so, do it.

I appreciate the new Republicans, but being a Democrat for all these years shows some very bad judgment. I think the 3 need to go through a de-brainwashing pit, and not bring any of those former Democrat ideas with them.

On January 7th, all I had to do, #10, was log in to my county voter registration home page, find my voting record, and change my party affiliation from republican to unaffiliated. It took about two minutes. But, yes, I am still getting bludgeoned with beg-athon texts messages, emails, and political junk mail. At my age, I need to focus now on my own financial affairs and stop pouring retirement money into the campaigns and fraudulent elections. Of course, I am committed to voting for non-RINO pubbie candidates and especially President Trump if he decides to run again. But, I can't do the thousand-dollar contributions anymore.

The Supreme Court is being asked to decide whether it is discrimination for the government to require only men to register for the draft when they turn 18.The question of whether it is unconstitutional to require men but not women to register could be viewed as one with little practical impact. The last time there was a draft was during the Vietnam War, and the military has been all-volunteer since. But the registration requirement is one of the few remaining places where federal law treats men and women differently, and women's groups are among those arguing that allowing it to stand is harmful.
