Residents of Venice Beach in Los Angeles say soaring crime rates and the exploding homeless population have made life in the elite beachside community unbearable. A 'catastrophic' increase in homelessness in Los Angeles has seen hundreds of tents line the beach's famous boardwalk. Business owners say they are being forced to close their doors and longterm residents are afraid to leave their homes after dark after being subjected to violent attacks and intimidation. Recent incidents—including a shooting on April 28 and an explosion at a homeless encampment—have left residents and business owners shaken. Fed-up locals have written to city and county officials
Gee... I wonder why that is... White privilege... gotta be!

They do not suffer from mental illness, they’re drug addicts. People hear “mental illness” and feel sympathy. Drug addicts gets a different reaction.

Venice has been a very sketchy and dangerous area for many years. Fun for a day visit but no place to be after dark.

Right-wing extremists have ruined Venice. They need to elect more ultra-progressive demonrats.

Just last Thursday I walked the "Boardwalk" which is actually concrete, of Venice Beach while visiting a friend. It was edgy, but then I'm from NYC. What I thought was the best part of it all was the lack of masks. The rest of town was just as paranoid as NYC with masks, face shields and gloves.

South Park, a while back, did an episode titled 'Smug."
It had to do with a toxic cloud heading towards Colorado from California, caused by Prius owners and their smugness.
I thought of that episode when I read this article.

I was there three years ago. I know what I am looking at in the pictures but I don't recognize it.
Why there?
Throw the first ones out and it would never get that way. Let three stay and you get three hundred. Three thousand. This is how it all ends.
I got no damns left to give to LA, even though there are a lot of people there who I love. They need to step up.

Last time I was there (late 1990's) there were needles on the street and in the park and drug deals and shooting up going on in the public restroom. So it's gotten much worse, but hey, the apartments across the street with the million dollar Pacific Ocean view can't be bothered with the problems on the street. It's the most polarizing thing I've ever seen. The super-wealthy overlooking the downtrodden and afflicted. It's no wonder limousine liberals feel so guilty about their "affluenza" and want all the homeless to go away with taxpayer money.

I’m sorry but I really don’t give a damn anymore. They voted the pencil-necked Marxist’s in and they can live with it. Quite frankly, I hope the city destroys itself.

Think about it, as an example, the Democrats can’t get the “homeless” situation with all its ills under any sort of control, but are all for allowing untold millions of illegal aliens from all over the world into the USA using every excuse and ploy imaginable, including now starting to call them “climate refugees” according to the Democrats who must be allowed to resettle in the USA. With at least a billion mostly poor and uneducated people from around the world could potentially easily fit within that recently Democrat discovered category of “refugees”. Obviously the Democrat plan is to bring down the USA as it is now situated politically and socially, by changing the national population into a minority majority Democrat socialist nation and to transform the country into a new socialist utopia. Biden essentially said that must be done “because that’s who we are” which common sense will tell you, can only mean that the USA has a moral obligation to the world in the current leftist Democrat mindset to essentially commit national suicide.
