A photo of Kentucky State Police Troopers with the title, "Our color is gray, our gender is trooper," posted as a Facebook cover photo Tuesday has been called tone-deaf by many commenters, who said it's offensive to people of color and the transgender community. [SNIP] "By reducing it down to color and gender, it's a message that says we don't take seriously the struggles people of color and trans people and trans people of color face," said Alyxander Rowan, a trans man from Kentucky.

How did this post discount your "struggles" Alyxander? You reduced yourself to your color and gender choice. Why can't others? You want other to accept you, respect you, and take your views and struggles seriously. By not being accepting of others and claiming the moral ground for only yourself and people like you, you remove any moral authority you may have to anybody take you seriously. I always find it interesting how those who claim to want equity and inclusiveness only want it for the right kind of people or when they agree with it. There was nothing offensive about the Kentucky State Police post. It was inclusive as it showed how all of the state police are the same regardless of race and sex. Guess that isn't good enough for for those claiming to want equity and inclusiveness.

The Ohio Republican Party on Friday passed resolutions censuring U.S. Rep. Anthony Gonzalez and calling on him to resign for voting in January to impeach ex-President Donald Trump. Gonzalez, from Rocky River, is the latest Republican to be rebuked by their state parties for supporting impeachment proceedings against Trump in January. Trump was impeached by the U.S. House for inciting a riot at the U.S. Capitol as President Joe Biden’s electoral victory was being certified, though the Senate did not vote to convict him. One resolution, offered by Shannon Burns of Strongsville, called on Gonzalez to resign, claiming he “betrayed his constituents,” “demonstrated a hidden vendetta against” Trump...

Every spring the Supreme Court seems to find itself in the headlines with consequential rulings on the horizon. This spring is no different. Over the coming weeks, major cases impacting various aspects of American life are poised for rulings. One of the biggest outstanding cases involves the Affordable Care Act. The Supreme Court ruled in 2012 that it was constitutional, but this is a new challenge. This challenge was brought by conservatives who believe the last ruling was only ruled constitutional because the Supreme Court interpreted the law as a tax. Congress has since removed tax penalties from the law and therefore critics believe justices now have grounds to strike down the entire law.

Severe cases of COVID-19 are 2.5 times more likely in men with male-pattern baldness than those retaining a full head of hair, researchers have warned. Male-pattern baldness — or 'androgenetic alopecia' — is a common, genetically-determined form of hair loss that affects around 50 per cent of men aged over 50. [SNIP] Researchers found that male patients with a common biomarker linked to hair loss appeared to be significantly more susceptive to severe coronavirus infections. Specifically, these men were more sensitive to male hormones known as androgens, which is also found in patients with androgenetic alopecia.

President Joe Biden's proclamation of the annual National Day of Prayer failed to include the word 'God', an omission that is drawing criticism from some religious leaders. Biden, a devout Catholic, typically ends his public remarks with the phrase 'May God bless you all, and God protect our troops' - but his proclamation for Thursday's Day of Prayer contained no such acknowledgement of a higher power. 'Prayer has nourished countless souls and powered moral movements — including essential fights against racial injustice, child labor, and infringement on the rights of disabled Americans,' the proclamation read in part.

In the California governor’s race, candidate Caitlyn (née Bruce) Jenner has landed the first blow, and it’s a telling one. This week, the former Kardashian paterfamilias’ campaign released a three-minute ad that might as well have been titled “Make California Great Again.” It’s a killer ad because every Californian knows that under one-party Democratic rule, the Golden State isn’t so golden anymore. Jenner’s ad juxtaposes the California of an earlier era, intercut with footage of Bruce at the Olympics, and sharply contrasts those evocations of sun, fun and vitality with images from today, featuring homeless encampments, discarded hypodermic needles and shuttered businesses.
