A controversial mural of George Floyd in Phoenix has been painted over. The mural depicted Floyd's face on a $20 bill, with the hashtag '#the_price_of_black_lives' hanging above his head. The $20 bill was in reference to the counterfeit bill Floyd allegedly used on May 25, 2020, prior to his arrest and death at the hands of police officer Derek Chauvin, who was recently convicted of Floyd's murder.(Snip) The defeat came after some community activists decried the mural for its traumatizing capabilities and lack of input from black community members. 'This is a mural designed by white people that celebrates white violence,'

Comments:

A black supersoy was riled that a mural was not made under the direction of The Community, and so down it goes. A vandal painted FENTANYL and X'ed out eyes on the oral, which he says only created more "black trauma." How can they get through the day being aggrieved all the time?

No matter what you do, it will never be right as long as you are the "wrong" skin color. The BLM people should be embracing the crazy white liberals who are on their side. If BLM pushes back too much, the white liberals will find another batch of whales or trees to save instead.

Not to trivialize a man losing his life, but didn’t Mr. Floyd establish the price? Every time someone commits a crime, they are gambling with the value of their own life, which may or may not be the same as the price they put on it.

Oh look everybody, Entartete Kunst is back! You know, the wrong subjects by the wrong people. Can't have those folks expressing themselves about our Aryan...er...African race. This work was a piece of garbage IMHO but the very idea that any ONE group has squatting rights on ANY subject for ANY reason and can FORBID others from using it is an offense against the natural rights of an artist, however bad. Art is FREE.

Seattle—Neighbors living next to Albert Davis Park in Seattle's Lake City are begging city leaders to do something about a growing homeless camp at the park. The neighbors say they are living in constant fear and apprehension after a recent double shooting and explosion at the camp. "I don't think I've slept more than a couple hours, any night this this week," says Shannon Ellis-Brock, who lives near Albert Davis Park. She says drugs and crime are rampant at the camp, which took over the park when the pandemic hit over a year ago. She and others say the problems there are out of control

President Joe Biden announced Monday that he is revising the cap on the total number of refugees who may be allowed into the country this year up to 62,500–after sustaining blowback from his party's left after appearing to stand pat at a much lower number. The administration had previously announced an effort to raise the cap up from 15,000 after getting blasted by critics including Democratic 'squad' members Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. The series of U-turns came to a head in April, when the administration had indicated it would move to raise the cap–days after

The Environmental Protection Agency is set to issue wide-reaching regulations on Monday to curb the use and production of greenhouse gases from the refrigeration and air conditioning industries. The new regulations will target the production and importation of hydrofluorocarbons—commonly known as HFCs. EPA Administrator Michael Regan will propose that U.S. will curb HFCs emissions 85% by 2035. “With this proposal, EPA is taking another significant step under President Biden’s ambitious agenda to address the climate crisis,” Mr. Regan said. “The phasedown of HFCs
