AUSTIN, Texas — Austin voters have approved Proposition B, which aims to reinstate the public camping ban that was reversed in July 2019. The results were 57% to 43%, with the majority voting to approve the proposition. The camping ban makes it illegal to camp in any public area not designated by the Parks and Recreation Department; to sit or lie on a public sidewalk or sleep outdoors in and near the downtown area and the area around the University of Texas campus; and to panhandle at specific hours and locations. Both support for and opposition to the proposition was strong in the months

There is hope for Austin despite our doofus mayor and city council. Think La on a smaller scale.

Dictator-wanna-be Adler tried to tie this to "conservative Republicans". There aren't enough conservative, or even moderate, Republicans in Austin to win any election. This won by almost 60% of the vote. So a lot of lie-berals were also fed up with the homeless camps popping up all over town. Austin is a super weird, way too lie-beral city, but it was beautiful before they started allowing these homeless camps everywhere. While I hope we took back our town, I don't trust Fuher Adler and his Gestapo city council to actually do what the voters have voted for. They will use every trick in the Communist playbook to get around the will of the peasants, because we peasants clearly aren't smart enough to know what is best for our town in their elitist opinions!!!

Young simpletons moaned about 'making homelessness illegal.' As usual, they miss the point - and, as is often the case, they do it intentionally. 1) A tent is a home of sorts so they're not homeless at all. 2) If the homeless choose to live in the tent and avoid shelters, low-cost housing, etc. then their 'advocates' are even more misguided. 3) Many don't want to live in housing since that housing may restrict or ban their drug & alcohol use. 4) Young simpletons who say 'people should be allowed to live anywhere' never have a response to 'give them your apartment or house then.' 5) It requires the usual massive sense of entitlement to give away that which is not theirs ie public spaces and sidewalks. Especially to bums.

This was a campaign that began after the signatures gathered the first time around were not properly counted. The second campaign had many more than needed to get on the ballot. This was an issue that had many in the voting pubic wanting to tackle a problem which cannot be tagges as "just a Republican" issue, because there are almost NO REPUBLICANS in Austin. It literally IS California in Texas. People are leaving Austin in droves because property taxes are forcing people out of their homes-- people still work there, but chose to live OUTSIDE Travis County and Austin. The defunding of the police makes it much less safe to live in Austin. The dictatorial mayor and city council have bought old hotels to put people into and get them off the streets and underpasses, but this did not solve the problem.

Unacceptable! Dims cannot accept the will of the people. A proper decision made by a cherry picked progressive jurist will be required.

A greater amount of Americans believe the country has become more divided since President Joe Biden took office than see the country as more united. Twenty-eight percent of Americans believe the country is “more divided” under Biden compared to 23 percent of Americans who believe the country is “more united” under his leadership, according to an ABC News/Ipsos poll Sunday. But the negative poll number for Biden, which contradicts the media’s narrative, did not stop ABC News from writing the headline, “Country optimistic after Biden’s 1st 100 days: POLL” with the subtitle reading, “Nearly two-thirds of Americans say the country is headed in the right direction.”

As we worked our way through the trial of Derek Chauvin in the killing of George Floyd, the voir dire process nearly drew as much attention as the trial itself. Given the wall-to-wall coverage the entire saga generated in news reports across the nation, finding more than a dozen people who were sincerely unbiased and (hopefully) not all that familiar with the story was always going to be a challenge. There were also concerns from BLM supporters that there would be (presumably racist) white jurors who would hold out for a deadlocked jury. In the end, however, they seated the required number of people. But were all of the jurors honest

WASHINGTON — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an executive order Monday that immediately suspends all outstanding local Covid-19 emergency orders and related public health restrictions. "The fact is, we are no longer in a state of emergency," DeSantis said during a news conference. He acknowledged that Florida was still not done with its fight against the coronavirus but reiterated the nation's decline in Covid-19 cases and deaths. "I think that's the evidence-based thing to do," DeSantis said, adding that asking vaccinated individuals to continue to wear masks would undermine confidence in the coronavirus vaccines. Fox News is reporting that the Democrats’ struggle with wokeness is expanding. It started directly after the 2020 election with losses in the House that many purple district Democrats attributed to the radical proposals of the Squad, especially around policing and the summer riots. These more moderate Democrats, responsible for the bulk of the blue wave in 2018, may be in for a startling comeuppance again in 2022. The Environmental Protection Agency is set to issue wide-reaching regulations on Monday to curb the use and production of greenhouse gases from the refrigeration and air conditioning industries. The new regulations will target the production and importation of hydrofluorocarbons—commonly known as HFCs. The chemical compound was first developed in the 1980s to replace more harmful greenhouse gasses that depleted the earth’s ozone layer. EPA Administrator Michael Regan will propose that U.S. will curb HFCs emissions 85% by 2035. “With this proposal, EPA is taking another significant step under President Biden’s ambitious agenda to address the climate crisis,” Mr. Regan said. “The phasedown of HFCs
