The trial of Derek Chauvin grinds on. Currently, the prosecution is still putting on its case, but it may want to stop doing so before the court is forced to dismiss the case altogether. As Andrew Branca, at Legal Insurrection, explained after the eighth day of the trial, “once again, the defense weaponizes prosecution ‘expert’ witness against the prosecution case.” But if you want the full flavor of the madness in Minneapolis, you must read Ann Coulter’s case summary. (snip) if the jurors wish to live, the mob has already told them they’d better find Chauvin guilty. The problem is that the prosecution’s witnesses are destroying the case.

America and the West’s policy of “constructive engagement” with Communist China make up the most egregious case of wishful thinking in history. For almost fifty years, the West has pumped trillions of dollars into the Chinese experiment and now has little to show for it except a much stronger China. Fortunately, many Americans are now waking up to the dangers of dealing with the Chinese dragon. It is not a moment too soon. (snip) Unless there is a consistent policy that limits the American contact, education and trade with China, nothing will be done. Foreign policy must be built on facts, not fancy.

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell has made some interesting statements in recent weeks about the Fed’s view of inflation. In summary, Chairman Powell has stated that overall inflation remains below the Fed’s 2% long-term objective, and that while reopening of the economy could produce price increases later in the year, inflationary pressures from rising prices are likely to be neither large nor persistent. Given the transient nature of these effects, and a long history of deflationary pressures in the U.S. and around the world, Chairman Powell believes that inflation isn’t something to worry about. (snip) These statements stand in increasingly sharp contrast to the real world

It’s finally come to this, the last refuge for scoundrels in need of scapegoats. It’s the Jooooz who are responsible for all the problems over school reopening. Don’t let the ethnic “identity” of the accuser confuse you. (If the word ‘kapo’ means nothing to you, ask someone who knows about Hitler’s death camps.)
The world’s oldest hate springing back to its accustomed status as an all-purpose excuse of villains. (snip) Union leader Randi Weingarten criticized Jews as "part of the ownership class" dedicated to denying opportunities to others in an interview released on Friday.

If Biden were merely senile, I’d fear for America, but perhaps summon up some sympathy for him. But he’s not merely senile. He’s a vicious, creepy, stupid man, and his non-stop attacks on Georgia are Exhibit A in the case against him. In his latest pronouncements, not only did Biden continue to lie about the Georgia law, but he implied that the Masters Tournament should move from Augusta, Georgia, where it’s been held since 1934 as if golf courses are fungible, not unique. (snip) Bobby Jones, one of the greatest golfers ever, was a club co-founder and he helped design the course. He also started the Masters Tournament.

There is a latent fingerprint being revealed across this country in the sparsely populated Red Counties. Nearly all these areas were claimed by settlers both before and after the Homestead Act. That baseline condition back then was a solitary life, initially with larger families, that remains endemic to farmers and ranchers to this day. (snip) the work from home concept now in vogue is already driving a migration to the hinterlands by people who might otherwise have grabbed their Starbucks on their way into the mega office building where they used to work. (snip) I believe there will be a steady shift to more conservative thinking

In her final month on CNN before leaving her job (apparently her own decision), anchor Brooke Baldwin gave an hour long interview to a Ms. Magazine podcast that criticizes the cable news network that has employed her in prominent roles since 2008. As my source who tipped me to the story commented, “It’s a pretty interesting perspective from someone on the inside of the network and shows that things must be bad if she’s willing to speak out while still employed there.” In fact, things are bad at CNN – and getting worse.

“You do not disrespect black women from our community…. You do not disrespect Black Lives Matter…. You ever disrespect a black woman again, we’re going to shut you down.” With these and other words, a group of 10 Milwaukee Black Panthers invaded an Asian-owned nail salon and threatened it. Later, they returned and police arrived. Instead of protecting the Asian owner, a female officer spoke cordially with the Panthers, addressing their leader as “General” and left the store saying, “All right, I’m sure that he got your message, sir, thank you so much. Woke Coke seems less concerned with selling sugar water these days than selling Americans on the idea that whites are not worthy of respect or equal protection under the law. (snip) Have you ever seen an official Coca-Cola advertisement promoting the company’s partnership with the Nazis during the 1936 Olympics under a jingoistic tagline — “One people, one country, one drink, Coke is it” — that would have made Adolf Hitler proud? No? Does Coca-Cola not highlight its financial history with Nazi Germany when crowing about its racial purity tests today? CORRECTION*

Do you think that last week was Peak Woke? What with Delta’s genius CEO Ed Bastian falling into line to criticize Georgia’s new election laws (snip) the next time your liberal pal recites the “systemic racism” response from the Book of Common Woke, or has a tantrum about “hate,” you just tell ‘em.
“You’re a racist. That’s what you are, A racist hater. Hate, hate, hate. Race, race, race.
“It’s always race with you. Race, Race, Race! Or do you sometimes think of something other than hate and race?

The lie that George Floyd was murdered by racist police officers in Minneapolis has made its way around the world several times over, leaving countless violent riots and more than $2 billion in property damages in its wake, but it seems that the truth is finally putting on its shoes.
In June of 2020, 60 percent of surveyed adults deemed George Floyd’s death to be murder at the hands of police officer Derek Chauvin. As of last month, a little more than a third of Americans believe that.
That’s a stunning near-reversal of public opinion.

Democrats thought they had a brilliant plan to force Georgia to permit widespread voting fraud by getting their woke pals in corporate America to bully the state into repealing its brand-new voting integrity law that mandates voter ID and other common-sense measures. Two Atlanta-based corporate giants, Coca-Cola and Delta Airlines, denounced Georgia’s new voting integrity bill, and Major League Baseball announced it was moving the All-Star Game away from Atlanta.
