Major League Baseball announced this year’s All-Star Game would be relocated out of Atlanta, Georgia, costing the city as much as $190 million in revenue, according to official estimates.Bill Volckmann, Finance Director for Cobb County, appraised the All-Star Game’s economic impact to fall somewhere between $37 million and $190 million in his 213-page agenda packet. While some dispute the high-end of those projections, it’s safe to say the city – especially lower-wage workers who would have worked the event – would have benefited greatly. “I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB Draft,

Sorry Atlanta but you won't be alone. Despite decades of being a baseball fan and my pandemic pent-up desire to get back to seeing games and spending money at the park, I've fired MLB and my own Texas Rangers. I've written the team to criticize their marketing stupidity. MLB's window to reverse this decision and fire their commisioner can be measured in minutes not weeks. I will not return otherwise.

Atlanta is a democrat stronghold. (Remember, they closed the presidential election polls early because of “plumbing problems?) They’re falling on their swords for this major league virtue signal. No tears shed by me

Like poster #2, I have little sympathy for Atlanta or its low-wage workers, but shouldn't it cost the MLB tons of money for breaking their contracts with Atlanta?

The best way to demonstrate our values as a sport--- Baseball--- is to support cheating and a crooked in an election. Good move Baseball, it's nice to know your values.

Ironically and justifiably, Delta Airlines will be one of those big losers as will the downtown hotels, restaurants, rental car agencies and everything else connected to large groups of people traveling to this crime-ridden and predatory city. Just try walking around Atlanta without being acosted by pimps, prostitutes, pushers and all other assorted insects of prey. My last trip was probably fifteen years ago and now I make it a point to drive well-around that cesspool.

I believe that as people submit to the woke situation that they are going to lose in the long run. The more that I hear about this garbage, the more I withhold my support for companies and/or people that go along. Atlanta is losing big and so will Delta airlines. I will never again fly Delta and will never again visit Atlanta, you lose guys. I may not contribute much, however, it all adds up.

And for all that Atlanta metro counties did to fraudulently alter the election - twice - this is how they get treated?
I guess they didn't get enough 'woke' points to offset this decision.

Unfortunately, the ordinary people in and around Atlanta who will end up being hurt financially by the MLB decision to move the All-Star Game out of Atlanta, to some more “woke” city, will be the majority of Black folks who will now lose the opportunity to get hired to one or more of the large amount of jobs that would have been created and connected in some way to the All-Star game in Atlanta. Ironically, those people in many cases, are the same people who were manipulated by Democrat propaganda efforts into voting for Biden last November. Remember it was Biden who demanded that MLB move the All-Star Game out of Georgia by falsely mischaracterizing a new Georgia law as a “Jim Crow” style voting law. When you listen to Biden, during the rare occasions that he speaks off the cuff, he just about always harkens back to the distant past as he did in this instance by citing the long ago dismantled and outlawed “Jim Crow” laws and practices, that ceased to exist once the “Great Society” and other civil rights laws were passed during the 1960’s Lyndon Johnson era with big support from the Republicans in Congress. The only reason that Biden thinks that he can get away with firing out such whoppers is that the leftist Democrats believe that most Americans, who they count as their voting base, do not have a clue when it comes to legitimate American history.

MLB attacks Georgia for daring to protect its election process and screws liberal Atlanta where a goodly amount of fraudulent voting occurred. Brilliant!
Edited to add: Oh, and this decision ensures WE WILL NOT watch this game. Understand this, Sponsors.

Meanwhile, our illustrious mayor, Keisha, is ducking and dodging because the crime wave goes on unabated....killings, robberies, holdups, rapes, slider cries, car jackings, etc. But she says she has a plan.......ignore and hopes it is not reported on the news. The move of the Allstar game could have been the final straw for her and the so-called leaders of Atlanta. No more events, unless you call street racing and event, would consider coming here. The buffet Queen Stacey has made this bed of corruption visible to the world. Reap what you sow.
Oh, the CEOs of the major corps in Atlanta are just cowards and have no corporate values that cannot be bought. Hope the legislature takes away all of their tax breaks and perks.

They eat their own. Its called communism. Its their way or you die. They support the communist style of voting which is voter fraud over legal elections. I don't watch the NFL, the NBA or MLB so as far as I'm concerned they can shove that baseball to where the sun don't shine. These hypocrites make tens of millions of dollars to play a kids game and when they talk they actually think you have to listen. I'm listening but I ain't hearing. Got it...

Tens of millions in losses is only the tip of the iceberg of what MLB is going to lose. I suspect the owners of these teams will have the last say on this. They stand to lose a lot more than tens of millions.
