Former White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said Thursday on CNN’s “New Day” that someone very close to former President Donald Trump must have been the FBI informant.
Keilar asked, “This is someone with knowledge inside who told the feds that there was additional material at Mar-a-Lago, directed them where it should be, clearly was concerned enough to tell them this information they should have besides the 15 boxes of material they got in the winter. Does that change your mind? Is that now sufficient when you have someone actually aligned with him drawing the attention of the feds to these documents?”

Sounds like this was a sting by PDJT, either to catch a suspect in his inner circle or, if he himself was the "informant", to catch the FBI in further documented wrongdoing. Either way, it's a win.

From what I have seen over the past 5 years or so, is that President Trump is too trusting when he hires people. I don't think he is a good judge of character as evidenced by what happened on the show "The Apprentice" on which Omarossa was a team leader. When a problem arose on her project, she lied to her team and Mr. Trump. Yet, when the situation was resolved, not by anything ahe did, she won the epidose. I have been a manager and you on't lie to your boss or your team That should have done it for her job, but she was given an award and a job on his team when he was in the White House. My opinoin was actualized when she stabbed him in the back and subsequently left her job. Mr Trump has had too many of these people he trusted, backstab him. Ie, Christopher Wray.
He needs to have a very cynical person interview for him in the future. Soemone who will judge on a person's character and actions and not what they say.

There is another theory I read somewhere. That Trump is playing a better game. That the informant is essentially a double agent. That the info that there was some hidden document was itself a plant used to embarrass the DoJ. If so, it's masterful, and likely successful. Not only would it be impossible to spin the raid in a competent light, not only will it prove to the American people that Biden's administration is petty, divisive, and delusional, it would put the DoJ and FBI on the defensive for the time before the November election and more importantly for the rest of Biden's term. If true, Trump has just neutered the DoJ.

I am not buying the mole spill. The FBI was there in June, and went through everything. Why would they need a mole, when they already were there, and knew where everything was?

Seems most here take for granted that there was a mole and that info came from a mole. Based on the FBI history of doctoring evidence, lying the the FISA court etc, it is just as likely that the FBI lied to a sympathetic judge to get their warrant. I'm reserving judgement until more is known.

The room where the sealed boxes were stored was still locked, including the additional lock the National Archives advised he needed to add (and did) because they busted those locks, based on reports.
Some informant when the government agency knew where these would be located because they saw them in that room.

I thought the FBI knew about the boxes in June and told Trump to put a lock on the door. I know that there are different divisions and localities of the FBI. Could it just be that one of the agents from the June inspection reported to a different agent about the boxes?
I like the idea of Trump setting a trap, though, lol.

Were National Archives employees working on the records in dispute? If so, they would have been able to tell the FBI agents where the boxes were located.

6-8 people knew about the safe. Yes, that would be the Trumps, and the FBI agents who were there in June. The FBI are the mole!

Regardless of who or whether it was by Trump's direction (what I tend to beleve), it's not coincidental that the safe was empty.

Obviously if such an FBI informant exists, who knew the location and contents of Trump’s safe, that person was not close enough, as when the search warrant was executed and the safe opened, it was reportedly found to be empty.

Assuming Mulvaney isn't an attention seeking blowhard, and the FBI knew where the documents were, why did they go through Melania's underwear? Little Chrissy Wray need a change, no doubt. Is there anyone more effeminate than Ms Wray?

Mulvaney [in the article] said that he did not know there was a safe at Mar a Lago...
That's kind of a dumb statement, it would be surprising if they didn't have a safe. These archives were in sealed boxes in a locked basement room. They would have been inventoried by the GSA and shipped to the residence when the Trumps moved. It would be surprising if GSA didn't have a detailed list of the contents. Nothing has changed since some of the documents were returned last May. Nobody was even home, so there was no imminent danger of anything being destroyed or removed. This makes the massive surprise raid look like political theatre.

Mole, schmole I don't believe that hair brain story. The FBI is creating a narrative or trying to so CNN and MSNBC can squawk daily about until mid-terms the on into 2024. This is right up there with the Steele dossier and gold showers creating a fake story to follow Donald Trump into election season. Remember the FBI investigate a garage door rope at a car racetrack real Keystone cop moves. This will never end but I want to know if nuclear codes were hidden in Melania's underwear and the reason for detailed search in her wardrobe. Is Melania the double agent? Let's start that hoax she is a foreigner you know. FFBI

As soon as the podcast is downloaded, I highly recommend listening to the Larry O'Connor interview of John Solomon this morning on his show on WMAL.COM. John has some interesting details about the records Trump declassified just before he left the WH on the Russian hoax and how the DOJ and his role as a journalist and involvement with Trump and those same records. John made a point of saying that au contraire Alan Dershowitz, he is not a Trump supporter - just a journalist first and foremost and he approached the Trump WH to ask if he could get access to those Russian hoax records once declassified and released to the National Archives. Trump agreed and a letter was sent to NARA giving Solomon access to those records. Unfortunately the DOJ got a hold of them and they have not been made public.

For starters, WHY would anyone believe that there's an FBI informant? Because the MEDIA said there is?
Get a grip. Where did that story originate?
This is the same old tiresome plan the left uses ad nauseam. Declare something is true, with no proof provided. Run with the alleged "true" story 24/7, whipping up near hysteria. And most importantly, cleverly shift the focus away from whether such an informant really exists to WHO was the informant, WHEN did he betray Trump, WHY did he agree to wear a wire, etc.
We need to stay focused on where the informant story began; the answer will tell us what's really going on. The LAST source we should ever believe is the media!

It is entirely possible that this "confidential human source" is simply one of the archivists who went through the documents. It also bears noting that if the FBI actually had a "roadmap" to each of the documents specified in the subpoena the FBI had no justification spending a whole day tearing the place apart.

My darling husband was a very crafty businessman and reminds me of President Trump...and I think this episode at Mar a Lago was a set up by President Trump...remember he's a chess master...as was my husband...their minds see things differently...and they are always two steps ahead of everyone else...President Trump loves this country and would never jeopardize our welfare by copying nuclear codes and leaving them unguarded at his home while he traveled....it's nonsense...

That is assuming there really is an informant with information, which is the left's best case narrative. See how they make up stories discussing speculation about unattributed claims? All you really know is they raided the place looking for anything interesting, with the permission of a partisan judge who detests Trump.

When this secret informant "mole" theory first emerged, the first people I wondered about were the Secret Service agents. Most people suppose there is just a handful of such agents and that the same ones are with the protected party 24/7. I have been close to people who had personal security details in a large organization. Typically there were two outstanding team leaders, one or the other of whom were with the protected party most of the time, at least on week days, and always accessible through the ear piece and speaker system. The other team members were part of a larger group of 20 or more rotating in and out--it was hard even for the protected party to remember the names of all the various people on their detail from day to day, some with the protected party, some at the home, others at the office, etc., and all of them rotating on three 8-hour shifts or two 12-hour shifts every day.
Since he's no longer POTUS, President Trump probably has a second-tier crew protecting him and his family. Some of them do little more than just hang around Mara Lago every day, with the more senior ones actually accompanying Pres. Trump and Melania. I have a lot of respect for the Secret Service, but there are bound to be a few losers among the crew--after all, this is federal government employment, with all its requirements for equal opportunity employment for all sexes, all races, multiple political persuasions, and so on. You're bound to find an occasional dim bulb in the chandelier. President Trump surely knows this. He has been betrayed so often since being elected, it must be a great frustration for him.
I don't believe this "nuclear secrets" wrinkle for a minute, unless it is indeed an intentional move to smoke out any moles (or imbeciles) working near the Trumps.

I heard a possibility that Trump has damning evidence in his possession perhaps the 30,000 deleted missing Hillary emails and that this was a reverse set up because if he has something damaging to others then it becomes evidence. This is going to get interesting. The “mole” was really working for Trump setting up the FBI.
