Maskless priest has homeschooling mom of

It was Halloween when Jane Bernardel, a homeschooling mom of 11, was hauled away by police for praying in an empty church without a mask. It’s a Bernardel family tradition to attend Vespers and recitations of the litany of the saints on Halloween, the eve of the great feast of All Saints, to sanctify a day they see as having been secularized. On Halloween 2020, Bernardel and some of her children prayed at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Kansas City, Missouri. “We went in and got in our pew and it was empty, no one was there. It was really dark,” Bernardel told LifeSiteNews in an exclusive video interview.

Comments:

I have been Catholic all of my life. Many Catholic priests are exhibiting fecklessness, hypocrisy, and cowardice. She is no longer Holy Mother Church to me because she is not holy, and she is not my mother. My mother is the Blessed Mother. The floor of Hell is paved with the skulls of bishops and priests.

What that a Catholic Church or a Communist Church? Something is wrong when a Catholic woman gets charged with trespassing for praying in a Catholic Church. These are odd times indeed.

Something tells me this feckless priest has an ax to grind with real Catholics. If a maskless someone had come in to the church bouncing a basketball in front of the Blessed Sacrament, he would have been mum.

Methinks Pope Francis needs to come up with an official mask. White silk perhaps. I'm sure Joel Osteen and Billy Bob Bible can advise him on what to charge for them. Nuns will get them for free. Completes the whole Burqua vibe.

That would make a Protestant out of me, Pronto! I have seen a lot of priests in Mexico and a few in the US. I didn’t ever have the sense they actually connect with their congregants on an emotional or spiritual level. Maybe it’s just my lifetime anti-clergy bias.

Priests aren't what they used to be. The one at my church went away for a week with no replacement and told us if we wished to go to Mass there were plenty of other Catholic Church's around we could go to. A Parisioner died during that time and had to lay in the refrigerator at the funeral home for days until he got back.

In the midst of the darkness of having churches pull back in fear, the few who stood their ground shone brightly. Thank God for those priests who continued to offer public Sacraments in spite of threats from local authorities. May the letdown experienced by so many faithful this past year stir a surge in vocations to the consecrated life of service to God.

Russian President Vladimir Putin took advantage of the Biden administration’s decision to abandon plans to send two destroyers to the Black Sea by closing off the Kerch Strait, connecting Crimea to Russia, to foreign warships until next fall. Many Christians are feeling frustrated with the Biden administration. A recent op-ed in the Wall Street Journal points to how Joe Biden’s flip-flop on refugees is frustrating evangelicals who foolishly voted for him last November. As the Journal contributor noted, they have a reason to feel betrayed.  Believers who care about values, life, and religious liberty continue to find that the new administration has let them down time and time again. While Biden may attend Mass regularly, many of his policy positions raise questions of how diligently he practices his Catholic faith outside the four walls of his church. CORRECTIONS*
