Russian President Vladimir Putin took advantage of the Biden administration’s decision to abandon plans to send two destroyers to the Black Sea by closing off the Kerch Strait, connecting Crimea to Russia, to foreign warships until next fall.
The action comes as Russia warned the US on Tuesday to stay away from the area “for their own good” after the Biden administration said it was going to send two destroyers — the USS Roosevelt and the USS Donald Cook — to the Black Sea in response to Moscow’s increasing military presence near Ukraine.

I don’t know much about putin but he seems like the leader of Russia. While bi.den seems like a Startled Possum acting in favor of whoever has the most stroke- presumably China. Bi.den knows nothing except how to creep into the hen house and steal others’ eggs.

Putie has made it clear in the past of his desire to re-build the former soviet union. Ukraine amongst the other former satellite countries have plenty to worry about.

Misleading headline. Putin did not close access to the Black Sea. But he did close access to the adjacent Sea Of Azov for foreign military ships.
But Black Sea or Azov, this is definitely an aggressive signal. Putin shrewdly said it is only a temporary action. That gives other nations some excuse to not challenge it.

In the streets, this is considered a call-out. Whatcha gonna do there Commander in Thief? Vlad is putting the smackdown on your face. Are you gonna take him out behind the bleachers like you wanted to do to Trump?

Sickening, Obama and Biden two weak peas in a pod. All freakin talk with no action. Russia and China both knew that when dealing with Trump they were dealing with a real man who had strength. With Obama and now Biden, Russia and China both know they are dealing with weakness and like predators they can smell weakness. And now we have Biden, like Obama leading from behind, two buffoons who world leaders laughed at. Appalling...

I agree with #9 regarding biden and obama being weak in regards to foreign leaders, but they act like absolute Lions when attacking their own citizens freedoms.

Telling that the only response to a Russian build up on Ukraine that Joke Biden could come up with was to send 2 (count 'em) ancient destroyees into harm's way and then change his mind. Trump would have had Putin's neck out of joint trying to look over both his shoulders at the same time wondering what was going to happen next.

There is no good reason for the US Navy to be in the Sea Of Azov. Its completely bordered by the Ukraine and Russia. The US has as much business being there as the Russian Navy would in Lake Superior. IMHO, the only country with standing on this issue is Ukraine.

Hmm. They do NOT have any legitimate authority to 'close off the Black Sea'. It is international waters.

Hogwash #14. Ridiculous comparison. Lake Superior is a fresh water lake, and takes multiple locks to get there. All of the Black Sea is international waters, salt water and historically open to navigation by ANY nation.
Letting thugs like Putin and the ChiComs close of oceans near them to international shipping is NOT acceptable.

Re#15 & 16. Look at a map. The Kerch Strait was closed. That connects the Sea of Azov too the Black Sea. Azov is completely enclosed by Russia and Ukraine. The Black Sea was NOT cut off.
The type of water isn't relevant. Whats relevant is the navagability of the body of water and wether or not its considered international waters.
The sea is considered an internal sea of Russia and Ukraine, and its use is governed by an agreement between these countries ratified in 2003. EXACTLY like the Great Lakes.
