Guess she’ll have to take the bus.Funding for a rail project near House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s California district that Republicans denounced as wasteful was removed Tuesday from President Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus bill. The Senate parliamentarian ruled the $140 million appropriation wasn’t allowed under the so-called Byrd rule that polices unrelated items in budget reconciliation bills.Republicans singled out the rail project as an example of unrelated “pork” in the bill, which is being rammed through Congress without Republican support using special rules that allow a simple majority vote

I hope the parliamentarian has armed guards around her. Piglousy is not going to like losing her avenue of kickbacks.

BART extension to San Jose will never take place unless those gazillionaires, who with the help of corruptocrats have destroyed affordable housing in the Bay Area, step up and pay for it.
I never wanted it because it will just make life even worse here.

So grateful to be gone from CA after moving to LA for another degree 14 years ago... even majestic Monterey Bay became oppressive.

I hate to say it but the dems are very clever when it comes to big money bills. They load them up with projects that have nothing to do with the original bill and then are "negotiated" into dropping a few "chicken feed" items and keep all the other big items and the Republicans pound their chests as if they had defeated the Dems in their "pork barrel" bill. We MUST take back the House and Senate next time around to save this country as we have known it !!!!

Don't be getting the idea that this eliminates all the corrupt spending in this piece of legislation.

Hey, this is chump change when you compare it to the rest of this monstrosity. The way these bills are loaded with pork, special projects and paybacks is an abomination. Will someone please push for stand alone bills? I know that is a pipe dream but we are being driven into bankruptcy by this outrageous spending. Pelosi wants to prioritize every democrat pile of excrement coming down the pike while Americans suffer. It really is outrageous and does not get enough scrutiny. During this time of hardship, our government should be acting responsibly and should stop spending like drunken sailors out on the town. I feel totally disconnected with the fools in Washington DC. They do not speak for me or even listen to what I want. They are there to enrich themselves with our money, and are nothing but a bunch of wasteful, greedy, corrupt, fools who believe they are entitled to taxpayer money. Every agency should be required to have an independent audit done every year and every elected official should have their personal finances gone over annually. The cost of those two things would be worth it. We could use a few more accountants and a lot less attorneys in Washington, plus we would save millions if not billions. Washington DC is a cesspool of greed and corruption and nothing confirms it like these enormous pork laden trillion dollar fiascos.

And the dems want to bring back earmarks. Don't worry this will get through as an attachment to a legit bill that needs to be passed. There is always a way and we will always get screwed.

Even children learn that you must start out asking for smaller gifts. You know- like a smaller $20,000 ice cream freezer before you demand the $ 40,000 model.

Nancy Pelosi is the poster girl for the argument that allowing women in positions of power is a terrible idea. I know this will not be popular, but reason and recent history seem to be on my side.

The "Pelosi subway" runs roughly from under her nose through to the back of her head. No stops in the line. She obviously saw Schumer and Commiefornia getting their pet projects and got jealous at the strong smell of pork.

First $15 an hour minimum wage now this. I don't know who that parliamentarian is but they are sure doing a hell of a lot more for this country than 95% of the Republicans in Congress!

Only $140 million for a rail project built by the government. It must be no longer than 100 yards at best. And even that would cost overrun up to a cool billion before it was done. And then 10 years later it would getting torn up because it wasn't used.

#14 I'm on your side and have thought exactly the same as you.
The Democrats have loaded their party with incompetent angry women. The Democrat men have been totally emasculated. Name one that has any testosterone.
On the hand the Republican party has a deep bench of potential women leaders and some extraordinary men and with the exception of a few are doing a good job in a bad situation.
Looking at the big picture, I don't see the Democrats coming out on top for the foreseeable future. I truly believe they are on their way down like the Titanic with Nancy Pelosi who will not the Unsinkable Molly Brown.
The people own this country and we are not going to let the Left destroy it. Period! Take a look around. The Blue States are in serious trouble. Every single one of them. They tried to use Covid against us and it's boomeranging on them. If we want to, we can take California, New York, Illinois and Michigan because of their poor leadership. It will take effort but it's doable.
Be not afraid folks, we are going to come out of this better and stronger for it.

The only thing that will come of this is the Dems running to microphones everywhere telling their constituents the the Republican Party is denying them their Covid checks.

The pork bill should be axed completely... the one trillion left over from President Trump's stimulus bill should be spent to help small business and citizens who need a leg up... no money to bail out the blue states that are in debt because of their inability to stop stealing taxpayer's money...no money to wind fans and solar panels that don't function properly...no money to overseas oligarchies that are America's enemies...and do I think the turtle McDonnell will help Americans???..don't count on it...WE Will REMEMBER...

That's a great start - c'mon Republicans, clean up the rest of that legislation!
DO NOT let it be another "we have to pass it to see what's in it".
