All told, seven people died in connection with the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6. But only Ashli Babbitt’s death was directly caused by violence that day. She was a rioter killed by a Capitol Police officer, who fired the only shot by any person during the 4½-hour siege. Yet the story of who he is and why he opened fire remains shrouded in mystery.
(Snip)
More than six weeks after Babbitt succumbed to a single gunshot wound to the upper chest, authorities are keeping secret the identity of the officer who fired the fatal round. They won’t release his name, and the major news media aren’t clamoring for it, in stark

Safety from the truth. I'm supposed to purge any silly notion of a democrat conspiracy from my addled brain but then they decide that the the lawyer who represented Steele's sub source should represent the shooter.

Had this been a white cop who erupted from a doorway to shoot an innocent minority Capitol tourist, the cities would still be burning.

massive, well organized covering up is in play. Except for the individual who fired the shot, it's probable we are never going to find out which individuals caused the deaths at the Capitol Hill complex. Why? It's probable they are neither Republicans nor Trump supporters. My guesses are they are (at least) affiliated with BLM and/or Antifa. What is not being reported is far more important than what's being reported.

That cop needs to be put in front of a judge and the world. Just like the media did to all the white cops even though they had a justified shooting. They sure didn't care about the safety of the white cops did they. Just another insult to fling at the public, trying to stir up trouble and racism against whites. When we all know from watching all the rioting just who the trouble comes from.

The only video of the murder I was able to see showed a masked person arms out stretched through a broken window taking deadly aim at something. His arm and hand movement is very telling. Immediately after the shot, the camera moved to a fallen figure surround be others with at least 3 uniformed cops directly behind Ashli Babbitt as she lays her head down for the last time. She wasn't near any window and was clearly being singled out for assassination.

So a black cop murdering an unarmed white woman is stopping a massacre. I white cop killing a black man charging him with a weapon is systemic racism. Justice for us. Just-Us for them.

Well after watching the video it looks like most all the morons taking part in that mob action did not really know what they were doing or why, they just wanted to get inside the Capitol buildings and the House and Senate chambers. While some Capitol police officers were injured when they confronted the unarmed mob, no Congress Critters were assaulted or injured, and clearly if the mob was so inclined it could have easily burned or severely damaged the Capitol building, something that never happened. Clearly those who violated the law at the Capitol on that day should be identified, arrested, and prosecuted. The mob had everything to loose and nothing to gain by unlawfully entering the Capitol building, the first one who would tell them that would be Trump himself.
As for the police officer who shot the unarmed lady, he certainly should not have done that, as his life was no more at risk then any of the other police officers there on that day, and they did not fire their weapons into a crowd. If he is a Black officer the Democrats can easily come up with a multitude of political reasons to not take any disciplinary action against him, and you can bet that the Democrats will do everything possible to shield his identity and the fact that he is a Black officer who shot an unarmed White lady. With the racial situation as it is said to be in the USA these days, It a myth to believe that any phantom White Supremacists would show up and sweep through the DC Black communities to hunt down and harm that officer. While he is safe from White Supremacists in DC he might not be from Black criminals there.

This is so obvious. 1-The police officer was black so the media will never accuse him of anything. 2- He shot a white person. 3- just because Ashli Babbitt was a decorated veteran doesn’t mean she couldn’t have been a radical Antifa or BLM supporter. Anybody can drape an American flag over themselves. There are an awful lot if disgruntled veterans out there. There were people there that day who’s sole purpose was to make Trump supporters look like crazed animals when nothing could be further from the truth.

The woman was not armed. The person who murdered her was in no danger. His identity should be made public. Until it is, there should be no more trials against any policeman shooting anyone in the line of duty.

Climbing through a window is not rioting, sitting in Nancy Pelosi's chair is not rioting. But they are still stuck on this false narrative. Must very important to keep the facts about what happened secret, ala the Vegas shooting.

They are only protecting him because he is black. So he is in fear of his life and...? Every white cop involved in a shooting a black person is in fear of his/her life but every detail about them is released to the public.

He's a guilty coward. Hiding out because he knows he murdered an innocent woman for no legitimate reason.
He deserves to be in prison. If that doesn't happen he deserves to be hounded for the rest of his life as a lowlife killer.

Watch the entire video of the mob and the police. The Capital police folded like cheap lawn chairs it looked like a tourist tour escorted by the police. The shooter was intent on shooting someone that day the girl was unfortunate to be the first of his targets. It looked staged and no panic like the mob was even scared or worried about the shooting. That SWAT team looked a bit suspicious.
I take offense that these noisy creeps were referred to a 'pro-Trump mob of protesters' that had all the signature of Antifa to me.

I saw the whole Jayden X (John Sullivan) video before it got edited down. Ashli Babbitt wandered through the crowd of men until she found one who would boosted her on his back.. The top of that glass door pane had been broken out. A large fixed piece of glass remained fixed in the bottom and sides of the frame. Think “very sharp”. Early on one spectator said she wanted to put her cellphone through that opening at the top. No one in their right mind would have tried to climb through that dangerous high hole above a big glass shard. Had she been through, her body would have fallen on the glass. She was still on the hallway side when the antsy black CP lieutenant lurched forward from the left, very near the door their side had blockaded with a pile of wooden furniture, and shot her. His black wrist and hand were visible, as was a bead bracelet of alternating sections of black and white beads. He was not wearing gloves, as some thought. He murdered an unarmed white woman. If the situation was reversed, the Capitol would have been in flames…. BLM.

Gateway Pundit released his picture yesterday. This was murder. I do not believe the defense lawyer who is putting all kind of spiel out, none backed with any evidence. Why hasn't this officer been arrested and charged?

It's very simple: If a black man is held accountable for the only violent death that day, the whole "white supremacist threat" narrative goes up like Kenosha. That can NEVER be permitted.

What are the odds this guy would flunk a background check? That is the only reason I can think of why they would never release his identity. He probably should not have been there. Guessing he has had either been fired from a previous job or been suspended. If he had been fired from a previous job, how did he end up with a job at the Capitol Building?
Ok, taking off my tin foil hat (for now).

I still have some memories of the auntie fannies from childhood.
Many Euro countries have impressive natural border protections to keep out the riff raff.
Nevertheless, mountains and oceans were supplemented at the borders, in the trains, and in the important cities by guards, with machine guns.
These gents would be 'fortified' by the giant men of the riot forces.
They 'd come pouring in by the giant bus load; w/ tiny bullet-proofed windows, reinforced by embedded metal grates.
No ideas on the size of the machine guns. If they show up, you run away. Now!
In those days the adults spoke more freely and frankly about the entire melange [behind closed doors].
-If aunt fanny shows up in your capital city, it is NOT for the tennis matches.
-They were smuggled in, paid and placed as terrorists and assassins, by those seeking 'regime change'.
-Everybody shoots to kill.
-Anyone hiding the baddies were Enemies of the State.
Good times. Good times.

Not identified by name but identified as African-American. I had noticed his dark skin and some kind of bead bracelet (white and black) in the Jayden X video of Ashli Babbitt’s murder. He erupted from a doorway to the left of the hallway door where she was shot.
