The family of a Texas boy who apparently froze to death — after the family’s mobile home lost power during an intense cold snap — have filed a $100 million lawsuit against the region’s utility providers, blaming them for the tragedy.
Cristian Pavon Pineda, 11, was found lifeless in a bed next to his toddler brother Monday, as temperatures inside plunged into the single digits and the family struggled to keep warm.

I'm torn on this one. Yes, the utility company did a rotten thing and those responsible should suffer a similar fate. At the same time, the ultimate responsibility for protecting the kids lies with the parents. Either find someplace with heat, have propane heaters on hand, or a generator, or something. If you trust your safety to someone else you are risking everything on a stranger who probably doesn't care about you.

Biden’s EPA refused to allow natural gas powered electric providers to exceed 60% capacity due to increased green house gas emissions.
People died bc of the green house scam.

Is Entergy part of ERCOT?
I think the ambulance chasing lawyer may not know what he is doing. If I recall my history of utility companies correctly, Entergy is the newer name of the old Gulf States Utility company, which is a Louisiana company with some transmission lines that cross the border into East Texas.
I am so sorry about this little boy, but his parents had a duty to protect him. It has been reported that the child "moved" from Honduras to be with his mother. Great care was taken by reporter to avoid pointing out that this mother had left the kid behind, that the kid may have been an "unaccompanied minor" when he crossed the border ("moved to Texas"), and that this death is likely related to illegal immigration. The child is a tragic loss in all of this. Some greedy lawyer is looking to profit by his death.

If I didn't have heat in frigid temperatures, there's no way my babies would have been sleeping in a bed without me. We all would have been huddled up together in one bed, and I would have made sure they stayed covered next to me, on top of me, whatever to keep THEM warm. It's kinda early for a lawsuit already, right? Not judging, just saying.

What higher responsibility do parents have than to see that their children are safe? This family didn't live up to their responsibility. Now they and their lawyer (30% if the payout) want to cash in on their irresponsibility.

It is very easy for all sides to point fingers with the benefit of hindsight of a real tragedy.
The parents blame ERCOT.
ERCOT blames wind power and regulations.
Biden blames everything except wind power.
Many blame the parents.
Fact is, sometimes, shlt happens, and the real cause is too complicated for one single party to be wholly at fault.
Rick Perry should not have committed to wind power in any measure.
ERCOT should have winterized the generation systems.
The parents should have evacuated to anywhere warmer.
Biden...well, Biden has no excuse...he just needs to retire to an assisted living center.

Texas experienced a tragedy but first and for most those wind farms are a farce and economic drain. Be prepared for 100% not 60% production of natural gas and protect the citizens. I lived in south Louisiana for 50years and it was not a very smart person who didn't have equipment during hurricanes and floods. In the higher elevation where we live now we have weather like Texas experienced year round. We have been prepared for cold with gas space heaters, a fireplace even using the burners on the gas stove. All electric in a house is ill-advised in winter. It's very sorry for loss of life while climate change is the topic, not good.

Since Cristian Pavon Pineda and his mother had been in the U.S. for two years from Honduras and dozens of other people died in the cold snap due to insufficient energy I have two questions: was the boy in this country legally and what extent of the energy problems encountered throughout the country were caused by energy shortages due to the needs of illegal immigrants taxing the power grid? This is a sad story, but I'm not totally sold that it's all what it said. One report was that the kid was playing in the snow. Yeah, that's great. Was he dressed properly for the cold and snow? Monday was the first day of the cold/snow, Yes, that trailer was pretty old and probably very poorly insulated and without power would probably resemble an igloo cooler, but this was in the first 24-30 hours of the cold spell. I'd buy the story if it were Tuesday or Wednesday when the death occured..
But a three-year old in the same bed was not affected. Assuming both boys were healthy, I would expect that they both would have suffered the same fate. I sure would like to see the autopsy on this kid before starting to spend that $100 really large.

While the child's death was tragic, utilities are not responsible for unexpected failures. I know what I would do if I saw my children freezing to death.
I say have the protective agencies lock up the parents. Parent?

Who doesn't know or suspect that any lawsuit based upon the weather will be tossed out of court? The God-hating courts will suddenly come to an Act of God ruling.

The haste with which this giant law suit was filed and the media attention puffing the story daily tells me the pro-illegal immigration lobby is all involved here.

I always have a supply of candles here. Even a tea candle will break a bit of the chill on cold nights. I've used them for years. This mother was incredibly neglectful. Why did one child die and the baby next to him didn't? Who stays in a home where the temperature is zero? Even those not too smart would know better. This woman jumped to sue like the woman who's child 'fell' out of a window on a cruise ship. They lawyered up immediately, too. I hope this woman doesn't get one penny. In fact she's due charges for neglect.

I am sorry for the mother's loss, but do we have another disposable child here ?

They should all sue Biden's administration, but with Abbott and ERCOT staying silent, I can say that the end results will be taking away Texas energy independence!
