Jason Jernigan, a laid-off Keystone XL Pipeline worker, told "America’s Newsroom" on Monday that he doesn’t know how he is going to make a living now, saying, "This is all I know how to do."
"I spent my whole life learning this craft and this skill and it’s not as easy as somebody might think or people might think to just start all over at 45 years old," Jernigan, with Local 798, said. "I guess I could possibly get a job as a greeter at Walmart, I don’t know."

This guy's union backed Biden and remember this chump voted in the union leaders who contributed to Biden's campaign and supported the election theft. Exactly what did this guy expect from Biden and the communist death democrats who were and always have been openly opposed to all pipelines and indeed all fossil fuels industries? Did he think that they were just kidding? Hard to feel sorry for this useful idiot. So is he going to vote out the union leaders who betrayed him and cost him his job? Bet he will still vote democrat in the next election. Hopefully this is a wake up call for him.

The initial post by the OP indicated that other countries despise the U.S. well, so does the current administration and their minions.

Or as China Joe might say: “If you can dig coal down at 3000 feet or lay pipeline, you can learn to write computer code”

Every one of these job loss expose's misses one of the most critical aspects because it requires the connecting of dots opposed to looking at this in isolation as if nothing else is intersecting.
He lost a job that required a specific skill set he has invested many years in acquiring and the supply of talent equal to him is quite limited. Starting over means starting at the bottom with no experience where the supply is far greater. Furthermore with illegal immigration that supply is not only skyrocketing but like the Irish in the early days of the industrial revolution, the new labor comes from suppressed areas where their value has not been established in a free market but rather suppressed. We inherit that suppression by bringing in people who are glad to take less that what was a fair market value here, before they arrived, yet still well above what they left.
And we were supposed to believe that the suffering of the "working class" in the mid 19th to early 20th century were all the fault of the robber barons. We are so proud of that why not do it again.

My DH has a flaming liberal friend who before the election said, "they won't do that stuff, that's just what they say....." I'm sure he'll shrug off the consequences of "that stuff" with equal indifference. That's liberals - until their ox gets gored, they care nothing for the consequences of their leftism.

It is easy for democrats, (bureaucrats, politicians, relatives, hangers on), to do away with other people’s jobs. Most of those making the rules have never actually had a job. Their present past time usually doesn’t qualify as a “real” job.

We need a law that says no one can be employed by government for more than five years. The leeches are bleeding us dry.

Did anyone else see the metro-sexual Justin Trudeau fold like a cheap suit on the Keystone Pipeline? What a wimp!

#5 - as a 35 year software engineer, it ain't all that simple and easy. If it were, everybody would be doing it and earning $120,000 per year

I read the article and watched Mr. Jernigan's video interview. Yes, he's a member of the union. It would be near-impossible to obtain his job without being a union member, given the constraints of federal law upon this industry. Contrary to Poster #1 and another, I find no evidence that Mr. Jernigan voted for "the union leaders who contributed to Biden's campaign and supported the election theft." I didn't vote for Biden; am I to be lumped in with the Americans who supported the election theft--simply because "America" elected Biden? Some knee-jerkers need to get a grip.

#13 Your comment is incoherent. Union members are responsible for electing their leaders just like the voters who have destroyed their own states and cities when they voted in the communist death democrats to positions of power.

Tell me, Jason. Who did you vote for? Who are you going to vote for in the future? Is this a union guy who voted the way the union told him? No mention in the story how he voted, but they do say he is a member of "Local 798", so clearly a union member.
This is the destruction that Traitor Joe promised. And whoever is pulling his strings is carrying out the destructive economic policies they promised.
And for that J Effin K solar job, a $35 an hour pay cut and loss of benefits.....what a deal, a BAD deal, J Effin K wants to push off on people for his non-existent 'carbon problem'.

We could conduct a simple experiment. i.e. Shut down every pipeline in the USA for a week. Gas, oil, water, etc. A Blue Ribbon panel of 'experts' could assess the results.
We should also tell water to run up hill.

We have enough oil and gas in our own country but shut it all down and import from the countries that despise the US. Where’s the logic? Unfortunately, there will be more jobs taken away because of Democrats and RINOs. America is doomed.
