I know Fox messed yo with Arizona results and they have a few disgusting hosts like Chris Wallace, but overall they are still the most fair and balanced of the major networks. These lies be speaks of as well as all the people saying "Fox is dead to them" are playing.right into the hands of the other 5 major media corporate owners. They are trying to shut Fox down. They want all the other good players, like Gutfield, Ingraham, Levine, Hannity, and Carlson off the air as well as the moderate players that sometimes seem to side with the left. I get upset too with some of the bad players, but we do NOT want to kill Fox. If we do, there will be NO TRUTH at all in major broadcasting. We need them to keep the truth in the forefront. Otherwise, the lemming public will be completely lost to the manipulators. The general public is already wary of places like Newsmax and OANN because the other media manipulators have successfully smeared them as places where only white supremacists, neo-nazis, and other extremist alt-right types patronize. So, most regular people will avoid them like the plague. It doesn't matter that they tell the truth. People perceive them as terrible places to be associated with because of the false propaganda. Even Fox has been smeared the same but it has so many long years of reputation that they still attract moderates and independents. So, please, do NOT kill the messenger just because it doesn't always tell you what you want to hear. At least it usually does and that is power we do not want to lose.

It started with Neil Covuto cut away when Kayleigh McEnany when she was talking about voter fraud, then Harris Faulkner cut Newt when he talked about George Soros, and finally when FOX called AZ when people were still in lines to vote (about 2 hours before the polls closed). This article is crap. FOX is dead to me. Also, I will not turn on NEWSMAX after that display with their clown walking off the set when My Pillow guy was talking. NEWSMAX is also dead to me. There was no excuse for that behavior.

Fox and the rest of the Murdoch Media richly deserve the punishment they are receiving in the marketplace.
This article ignores the gorilla in the room, mainly Murdoch Media/ Fox's ongoing attempt to knife Donald Trump's candidacy in 2016 (see especially Megyn Kelly, debate "moderator"), his Presidency (see Chris Wallace, Stirewalt, Cavuto, ad nauseum), his reelection bid in 2020 (see Chris Wallace reprising Kelly's "moderator" antics and his behavior throughout the campaign and on election night), the Mishkin Arizona call fiasco, etc.. Then we have Murdoch on the Saturday following the election joining the rest of the media cartel's "declaration" that Biden was "President elect," followed by weeks of election fraud denial from not only Fox but the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post.

How in the world can one trust an institution that would hire Donna Brazille? Remember she's the one who gave Hillary the questions before her debate with Trump. then again there is Juan who's aversion to truth is well known. It wasn't only Harris who shut down discussion of Soros...Sandra Smith did the same. One more time...How can we trust FoxNews?

I think the article makes some good points.
For me, however, their shtick has gotten old.
Fox News Alert, Hannity’s tedious “breaking news!”, and their tired left-wing hacks and interview format have worn me down.
Tucker is the fine exception. And Levine.
Hannity runs his mouth, and Laura has worked everywhere and knows everyone and wants YOU to know that.
Only Tucker and Levine have mastered the art of asking the insightful questions and then shutting up while their guests speak.
I may return to Fox on a limited basis.

Like many here, I used to watch Fox News regularly. Not because it had a generally conservative lineup of commentators but because overall it was genuinely fair and balanced in its NEWS. I never felt it was trying to manipulate me by suppressing stories it didn't want me hear or joining the leftist cheerleading for stories or slants on stories it wanted me to side with.
THAT is what has changed at Fox. The election reporting and decision making was pure manipulation. And the firing of Lou Dobbs and suppressing of Jeanine Porto, among others, was caving in to the leftist cancel culture.
Yes, they still have a few commentators I like and trust, but I also feel they are there now only as the bait to keep me there so I can be reprogrammed by the rest of their manipulation team. Sorry, Murdoch dudes, I'm not going for the bait.

I agree with this article. Fox is not completely what I would like it to be, but where would we be without the ONLY main stream outlet available for many years. Newsmax and OAN are great, and I watch them too, but both are still maturing and don't have the reach that FNC has. It is very disappointing that Lou Dobbs was fired, and someday I would like to hear the back story on that, Chris Wallace and Juan Williams turn my stomach, and I really do switch the channel when I see their ugly mugs on the screen. Cavuto is just an arrogant ass, and Fox would be better off without him.
I also believe there is a 'conspiracy' afoot to convince conservatives to totally dump Fox so that the fake news will totaly dominate the main stream. And I believe that if Fox goes, or even goes leftist, we will be up schitt's creek.

Lou Dobbs had a great run, but he jumbles his words and his thoughts now, and needed to retire. He had great guests, though, but now Kudlow will be better. The best benefit of Fox is the exposure of champions like John Solomon, Newt Gingrich, and the best of DC like Cruz, Stefanik, Jordan, Cotton and Paul. It's TV, everybody, so my expectations are very low. Carlson, Levin, Baritaromo, and Gutfeld are the best in the business. OAN and Newsmax are triple-A, not major league.

Mr. Peter is welcome to his opinion. I find him a bit arrogant to think HE knows more about FOX than the Thousands of us who have watched it since it arrived on our TV Sets. WE have decided FOX has been ignoring us. FOX brought in way too many Democrats to please those of us who had them in our homes 24/7. When we finally had enough, we shut them off. They weren't listening to their BASE! Soon their Ratings began to drop, and as far as I can see they are still dropping (now below MSNBC and CNN! Yes, they have moved people around, but those who we can't stand are still there. Peter covered who they are, so he knows what we're talking about. Sadly, FOX Powers that Be haven't done anything about them as of yet! I personally think Shannon Bream is one of the Brightest Stars FOX has. What did they do to her? Gave her a show at 11:PM. Now they have moved her to Midnight. She should have been given that open 7 PM slot. Peter says there is nothing wrong with management at FOX. Well what they did to Shannon was an extremely stupid move! And if the Management is doing such a good job, why did Daddy Murdoch have to make a hurried trip from London to NY? He is now trying to right the sinking Ship! When he fires Donna Brazile and gets rid of Juan Williams and Chris Wallace, they will see their numbers jump back to the top. Neil Cavuto should be next. He's and Arrogant Ass! I haven't seen Jessica Tarlove and Marie Harf on Outnumbered (which I sometimes watch at Lunch time), so maybe they fired them, which would be a step in the right direction. FOX needs to let the people on their Shows say what they want. The Truth about the Fraudulent election is going to come out. FOX can't stop it! We all know they have been looking the other way, but a Stolen Election is a Big Deal. FOX would do a lot to get their Audience back by listening to those who KNOW how it happened. No, it won't change the election, but it could stop it from happening again. That's what FOX viewers want to see. Fair and Balanced, wherever that takes us!

This article is critical of conservatives for believing our lying eyes and ears (notice how he wove in our very visible and shared examples of complaints about faux while poo-pooing them) instead of seeing the truth about faux news. Faux is not much different than cnn and all the others. So, stop it Peter Barry.
One more thing: "As much as President Trump has kvetched about Fox News, that’s the only place he went on a regular basis for long form interviews."
Do you think if President Trump were still in the WH that he'd go on faux after what happened with the election, and do you think new/exposed faux would treat him with respect? Faux is not our future; and we need to keep making sure they know this until they are destroyed. They are no longer the only game in town. We the people have options now.

What the author of this attempt to come to the rescue of the failing Fox News fails to mention is that when our Republic was being overthrown by the communist death democrats via the stolen election coup, all of Fox News with the exception of Dobbs, Maria, Pirro, and Levin, were suddenly mute on standing up and fighting to expose the fraud taking place or non-stop stating that Biden was legally elected. In other words when Fox News needed to be a true defender of the Truth and fight for the our Republic and really investigate the election fraud, the Murdoch directed its' network to adopt a policy of either passivity or silence which in fact aided and abetted the communist death democrats election coup. Where was the Paycheck Patriot Tucker, the Blowhard Hannity, the Screechy Ingraham while the election was being stolen in plain sight? Suddenly these so-called conservative patriots seem to lose their voice.
Nope Fox News betrayed us and our country when we needed them to join the fight for the survival of our country. They failed us. Period. No amount of re-shuffling their line up in an attempt to lure back their customer viewers will restore their broken trust with us.
First time you fool us shame on you, second time (and they will again) you fool us shame on us. There won't be a second time Murdochs you killed your golden goose.
The author of this piece comes across as a shameless hack for Fox Faux News.

I also stopped watching Fox/Fox Business for a while after the election, but now I watch F&F weekdays and weekends, the Five, Greg Gutfeld, Jesse Watters, Tucker, Laura, NOT Hannity (I love him, but he just talks too, too much), Stu Varney, Charles Payne, Maria Bartiromo (fearless!). Now to save myself unneeded agita, when I watch the Five I immediately hit the mute button whenever Juan says anything because I know it will be lies, and instead enjoy watching the reaction on Gutfeld's face while Juan's talking (priceless!). Ditto re Donna B. And truth be told, I also mute Jedidiah Bila on F&F w/e's because of her unreasoned dumb opinions, not to mention her irritating grating voice.

We gave Fox every opportunity we could stand post election. One by one, we watched the network limit each of our favorites - even Tucker and Laura. The demise has been going on for some time and the author should know this. Perhaps he's not as observant as he thinks himself to be. We gritted our teeth, muted and skipped the obnoxious and stayed tuned for the worthwhile. After awhile, you stop clinging for the few. We record Maria's Sunday show. That's all we have left. We didn't leave Fox News. They left us.

IMO, by ignoring election fraud coverage, Fox has aligned itself on the political spectrum perhaps a bit to the left of Murdoch's stated target, since 70% of Conservatives think the election was stolen.
However, I agree totally with #42: we're in a war, and all allies are vital to our cause: Fox overall is still far to the right of the other Alphabets, and should not be totally shunned because they're views are not extreme-right.
Even Tucker Carlson, who I hold in the highest regard, has issued rather curious statements in response to lawsuits, and I suspect it is the lawsuit potential that is driving Fox's current stand on election fraud....e.g., any mention of 'Dominion' in a negative light, and their lawyers show up. Not a pretty picture, but don't condemn them until the lawyers are standing on your own doorstep...

I don’t understand the gripe about Harris Faulkner. We like her. She has a new program and seems to be more free to go right with her handling of it. She is not easy on the fewer lefties who are being placed in her program (those are chosen by others, not the principal) and is extremely warm and agreeable with those from the right. We also like Jesse Watters.

She reminds me of Lenin's ugly, mean, Angry wife Nadegda Krupskia.
On July 17,1918 Nadegda ordered her Lenin CHEKA goons to murder the sweet, helpless Czar children in the

What the author does not pay close enough attention to is the number of absolute leftists and nevertrumpers peppered onto every panel. I've watched Fox News closely for the past 24 1/2 years as well and right as Trump was showing he'd win the 2016 nomination, the channel turned. A huge number of nevertrumpers stepped forward and they started hiring leftists to pad the panels. My own personal belief that Fox was going left was when I actually watched the panel leftist on Special Report have to take Trump's side when the two supposed conservatives were frothing at the bit in their attack on Trump, circa Fall of 2016.
The change was real. The change was observable. The change was unforgivable. We had one place NOT to be inundated with leftist, DNC talking points and it went away.

Chowka explains all about Fox News---but none of this is from the management of Fox News, those who run Fox News. Fox News has terminated Lou Dobbs, which I watched. I will not watch the replacements due to a complete lack of interest. I will not watch Chris Wallace ever. Sure, there are Hannity, Carlson, Ingraham, Levin, and Pirro. Pirro is often sent on vacation for not toeing the corporate messaging, and the others avoid topics, and change their language to keep their jobs, all of which builds distrust and disgust. In the end, all are corporate employees, not independent tradespeople, and they follow corporate directions.

Chowka lays out a nice logical argument but most of our complaints against Fox are not just pure logic. Chris Wallace did major damage on election night by calling Arizona early. In their mad rush to be first they called a state that Trump had clearly won and validated the cheating out there. Juan Williams and Donna Brazille are affirmative action hires, pure and simple. They offer nothing but a regurgitation of democrat and liberal talking points. At least Alan Colmes was smart and offered his liberal points with a sly smile, knowing he was talking nonsense. Donna's cheating with Hillary should have banned her from every network forever, that was manipulation of an election, an illegal stunt. Juan was fired from NPR for Pete's sake and that needs no explanation. Cavuto is an anti-Trumper and has become insufferable. Harris did as she was ordered, just a flunkie. Dobbs and O'Reilly are both brilliant commentators and should still be there. I don't want to see Fox go away but I do want them to acknowledge who is in control - us. Until an apology is offered I won't watch.

We don't watch TV. I stream movies and kids programming I purchase. We watch our dvd library. I subscribe to the Conservative journalists and commentators I like. Old style 24/7 scheduled news networks have jumped the shark, all of them.
Good places to look.... Have you listened to Mike Rowe's podcast The Way I Heard It? Simple, good entertainment. His voice is so wonderful he could read the telephone book (remember those!) and I'd listen. Larry Elder, Steven Crowder, Ben Shapiro (and many many more) all have free and paid programming you can watch now or later when you have time. There are also folks who have the "pay by video" kind of support. They can't cancel us if we don't let them..... and cutting the cord is a good first step!!

This writer seems content with conservative news mixed in with the leftist narrative news.
I am no more content with that than I would be going to a salad bar contaminated with e.coli in just a few of the options.
I am no more content with that than I would be with Dominion voting machines because they only manipulated results in 6 states.

I have had my issues with FOXNews because of Juan Wiilams, Donna Brazile, and the other insufferable libs the article mentions. I’m glad Shep Smith is gone. Don’t care for Cavuto either. That said, I agree with the author about Tucker, et al. It remains my go to channel for news and opinion. My husband insists on watching NBCNIGHTLY news. He is getting all sides of an issue, he says. Ok. But there have been many times I have left the room to go to the basement to watch the news. Lies of omission abound on NBCNIGHTLY news. Especially about COVID19 and Trump. So, I will remain a FOXNews watcher. OANN and the other are ok, but they need better production values. That could be because of money. I will continue to switch to them occasionally.
My 2 cents.

I first became angry when it was obvious that in 2016 they were pushing Bush and then Rubio on us. It was anyone but Trump after those two tanked. Now they will try to push Niki Haley on us as the New frontrunner. I don't like being manipulated and I don't like Haley.
I might come back if they fire Chris Wallace and give Lou Dobbs his job. I trust Lou to tell the truth.

#1-#58 all good comments. Mr. Chowka article is not true. FOX News could have done an extensive show or shows on how the election was blatantly stolen from Trump, but they didn't. The news crew all appear to have been given some kind of drug after the election too as there is no further news on more discoveries how the election was stolen. Nope. FOX news has become the sneaky news. "Let's all get along news" might be a better description for FOX news. For some reason Lou Dobbs is let go. To me that was another sign that FOX news has lost it. No, I will go somewhere else for my news that appears truthful and not censured..

Regarding #44's question about why would China suddenly be so interested in the DNA of Americans. A most interesting question. Particularly after China unleashed a deadly virus that killed millions globally and pretty much shut down the economy of its #1 competitor and military enemy. Convenient, no?
Consider also that this virus was literally engineered in a biowarfare lab in China. One might reasonably consider that having the DNA makeup of the US population would be most valuable in perfecting even more deadly strains than... Oh wait, you say that several variations of COVID-19 have recently appeared?

#1, Rupert could not have written that better. To me Fox is really dead to me, and had it off since November 4th. Watched them for 20 years for 3 hours a day and they were liars. It’s like The National Review, gone. They wanted my Donald gone and got their wish. OAN was easy to subscribe via KloudTV on the internet and is well worth the $50 per year.

After watching Varney for 10 years, I turned him off as well as the rest of Fox News/Business 2 weeks before the election. Fox has one of the worst, most inaccurate polls, and his show became reporting the phony polls and then tediously asking each guest to respond to said phony polls. Now the tv is off all day, and we’re better for it.

Here's our reasons for not being on Fox's fans anymore.
1. Firing Lou Dobbs for speaking the truth.
2. Firing Trish Regan for speaking the truth.
3. For slanting the election news towards Biden and pressuring the anchors not to talk about the stolen election.
4. Last Thursday Tucker spent several times during his program praising Fox Management. That did it. No more
Tucker Carlson. It has been apparent for some time Fox Mgmt. is anti-Trump.

One thing that annoys me is that everything is New York or Washington DC with Fox News. They keep talking about the schools need to be opened. The schools ARE open in most of the states. In Indiana the schools have been open for a long time. Restaurants are open too. To me NY and DC are like foreign countries and I've never been to either. The news I hear about NY just amazes me but it's only one place and the US and not really all that interesting.

Before the election I was watching a panel discussion on Fox Business. Cavuto was the host and he completely shut down Elizabeth McDonald and whenever she tried to say anything positive about the Trump Administration. Cavuto was so arrogant. Cavuto would not have dared speak to Lou Dobbs the way he did Elizabeth. Dobbs would have had Cavuto for breakfast.

Thank you, thank you #35!! Yes, it is as if everyone on FOX now must folllow the dictates that say Biden won, and won FAIRLY, with never, ever any mention of the massive fraud that occurred. Sure, they fired Stirewalt, but I bet Mishkin is still there, and will be working the next election, too. Mishkin, IMO, was a key part of the conspiracy to steal the election. First, he refused to call no-brainer Trump states, like Texas, I believe in order to keep Trump's electoral vote tally below that of Biden all night. Then, I believe, the AZ call was the signal to stop counting and to bring in the manufactured, uncreased ballots and repeatedly scan them.
Even hosts that are conservative will not mention Dominion or the steal anymore, (I hear, haven't watched since Nov. 4th), and that makes me question everything: what else have they held back on orders from on high? Rush will not let the steal be talked about either, and that really disappoints me, because I always have thought he was fearless. I give him kind of a pass because of his illness, but my eyes are open now.
Anyway, FOX News is still dead to me, and I find myself not really missing it too much, and I am a lot less stressed. This author cannot convince me that FOX has not sold its soul, and is not drifting into liberal conformity.

Trust in FOX for accurate news has become flakey as its information is no longer consistently reliable. It has developed a split personality of sorts with a some excellent, thoughtful news coverage as mentioned above, but other reports which seem more representative of the discredited CNN. FOX needs to clarify if its goal is to inform with facts or propagandize with politics like the dred msm, remembering the FNC's ratings were best a few years ago when they focused on the facts.

We need our own conservative tv news networks like their abc nbc cbs

Never again Fox news

Fox thinks we are dumb.
David Spector is an American television producer who has been very successful as a television personality in Japan, where he has made his home. He is quoted as saying (and I can only paraphrase) “It is a privilege when someone invites you into their home to share their time with you.” Fox has lost this privilege because they no longer respect me.
This article, along with every other article I have read concerning the decline of Fox News repeats one common thread. Fox’s audience is not very smart.
This statement has always been made by those who don’t like Fox and now it is being repeated by people who support Fox, like this author and Chris Stirewalt (the arrogant no-account from Fox that called Arizona for Biden.) Fox apparently believes that its problems are rooted in the fact that we in the audience just aren’t that smart.
May I suggest one remedy? Fire Chris Wallace and Neil Cavuto.
We know Fox can do it. (They did fire Stirewalt) No one needs these two clowns. They are no less purveyors of opinion than Hannity or Carlson, and I tend to get more new and valuable information from Hannity and Carlson. They are to me a better source of news than either Wallace or Cavuto. Also, Hannity and Carlson respect me whereas Wallace and Cavuto do not. Trust me on this. This assessment of our relationship is mine to make, not Fox’s. Wallace and Cavuto continually talk down to me. They display no humility. (I believe that denying election fraud in the face of the anomalies and sworn testimony presented is a threat to our democracy.) Whether they are correct or not with their facts, they have disrespected me, and they have lost the privilege of being a part of my life.
Given this, I say to Fox, good luck finding a smarter audience.

Some decent points made, but no mention of the summary firing and suppression of Lou Dobbs and the continual jerking around of Judge Jeannine Pirro. Steve Hilton is on in graveyard time. And Tucker...all over the place and near hysteria on Jan 6.

Fyi to one of the commenters about Lou Dobbs losing train of thought...I watched his program regularly and a large part of that was technical problems in remote production. He broadcast from home in NJ and his guests were patched in from all over via online platforms that have their own problems. Their connections would go down and he had to do a lot of on air tap dancing. I miss Lou...a consistent populist voice and top rated. So tell me why he's gone without even the fig leaf of retirement?

Yes! Move Steve Hilton up to prime time. Put Steve on the Five too. Give him more airtime. He did a really thoughtful interview with President Trump and maybe the best one I'd seen.
Agree about stop jerking around Judge Jeannine Pirro. Let her speak her mind.
