Wow, what coincidental timing. The story claiming that a police officer was murdered by Trump supporters during the Capitol Hill protest on January 6 is, for all practical purposes, retracted by the NYT the day after Pres. Trump is acquitted on the impeachment charge of having instigated those protests — which were declared by Democrats and the media an “insurrection” against the government. If you search for the original NYT story today, you find the following “Note” now at the top: UPDATE: New information has emerged regarding the death of the Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick that questions the initial cause of his death provided by officials close to the Capitol Police.

So the protestors killed exactly nobody. The others were natural causes, and Ashli Babbit was murdered by someone insde the house chamber. This was known almost from the start , but the demmedia needed to try to polish Trump off forever. Shameless. How was this worse than the BLM and antifa riots that took place all summer, and are still happening?

It is interesting how a death from stroke or heart attack during a protest is blamed on the protestors, but a death during a vaccine observation period is just a normal death...nothing to see here!

I saw a video somewhere of a protester throwing a fire extinguisher towards the police and possibly hitting one. Brian Sicknick was not among those police. I think someone says, I saw a police officer hit on the head with a fire extinguisher and it morphs into the cop who died and our ethical journalists report the false statement as fact because it fits the narrative.

These days what the media fails to publish is AT LEAST as important as what is published. The lack of published details regarding the alleged cause of three of the five deaths at the Capital building is telling. I believe that three (of five) persons died at the Capital building from natural causes as much as I believe John F. Kennedy was assassinated by only Lee Harvey Oswald, that singer Mamma Cass Elliot (of the Mammas and Pappas) died in a London hotel from choking on a sandwich, and that Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide (with Attorney General Barr so readily accepting that flimsy explanation). I believe the true causes of the deaths of the these three individuals is very purposely being covered up. This silence is deafening.

At this point, does anything the New York Times write matter? The corruption at the Times has been coming over the years. Their false reporting was one of the things that made me change from Democrat to Republican and that was in 1994. I cannot wait for the day the wokesters will turn on the Times. As the NY Post's Michael Goodwin has been reporting, family members of the NY Times were not only slave owners, they were slave traders just like the guy Yale is named for. So boys and girls of the woke generation, where are you? Where are your cancel calls for the Times and Yale? Time to tear down those racist walls kids, metaphorically speaking of course.

The NYT lied about a Congress Police officer was murdered by patriots with a fire extinguisher. He died in his office from a stoke. However, they never mentioned that their ENTIFA and BLM goons burned and looted stores and police stations all last year. They never said a word that ANTIFA murdered 25 people and injured 2010 policemen in 2020. The Biden, Obama Media is disgusting! Trump won the 2020 election. It was stolen from him thru fraud and fake ballots. He should have never conceded. Trump should fight for America until the cows come home.

WE follow President Trump and his love of country... ironic that the officer who died was a staunch President Trump supporter as I suspect are most police officers and military...it makes me wonder...what are they doing in DC???....are they busy throwing cocktail parties and congratulating themselves for having stolen an election...their rallying call is ...NOBLESSE OBLIGE...power is for the powerful... not mere pheasants...

I generally agree with most everything Chris Plante says but today he was commenting on this retraction and got a bit overwrought with the "tragic and horrible death" of USCP Officer Sicknick. The man had a stroke and died, It could have happened that same day without the melee, but holding him up as some kind of Audie Murphy is just ridiculous.

Surprised that the NYT is retracting the story at all. So in the end, one person was killed at the staged insurrection. Probably by a Congress critter or some staffer that also plays the role of personal security to some Congress critter that did not 'get the message'. Its no coincidence that Pelosi doesn't want any armed people in Congress.

Should Republicans Impeach Biden and Harris? 21 replies

Now that impeachment is just one more card in the political deck, to be played by whichever party controls the House of Representatives, the question naturally arises: what should Republicans do when they retake control of the House, very likely in 2022? Lindsay Graham warns that if the Democrats could impeach Donald Trump with the false assertion that he incited violence, a far stronger claim along the same lines can be made against Kamala Harris: Tom Cotton, among many others, has also pointed out Harris’s explicit support for rioting, looting and arson (not demonstrating or protesting, as no one was arrested for that), although not specifically in the context of impeachment:

While players for England — with some notable exceptions — decided to “take a knee” for Black Lives Matter before facing off against the Scots team in their home stadium, only a handful of Scottish players followed suit. The Scots went on to heft the Calcutta Cup after soundly defeating the English team — their first win over their much larger neighbour on English soil since 1983

Between 10 and 15 million voters in this country decide the outcome of Presidential elections and the partisan makeup of the Congress. These are the voters who “swing” from one party to the other during election cycles. Capturing the majority of these voters is the path to winning control of the government. It is said that Donald Trump received 75 million votes in this past election while Joe Biden received 81 million. Trump lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton but prevailed by narrow margins in a handful of states in order to win the Electoral College. Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney

"With the passage of this bill, Utah joins 17 other states with some form of permitless concealed carry," Cox said. "This bill protects Second Amendment rights, reduces permitless open carry and includes significant funding for suicide prevention.”

As Bonchie covered earlier, McConnell said that “President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day,” and that Trump is “still liable for everything he did during his period in office.” When he was specifically asked whether he was surprised to hear such a serious rebuke from the leader of the Republican party in the Senate, van der Veen’s expression, tone, and words said it all. I’m not surprised to hear a politician say anything at all. No. Crickets.

Donald Trump was acquitted by the Senate on Saturday in an impeachment trial for his role on the 6 January attack on the US Capitol – a verdict that underscores the sway America’s 45th president still holds over the Republican party even after leaving office. Trump was the first US president to be impeached twice and is now the first president to be twice acquitted. If convicted, he would have been barred from holding office in the future, but this decision now paves the way – should Trump want to run again – for another tilt at the White House in 2024.

It’s never going to stop, is it? Today, Donald Trump was acquitted for a second time by the Senate after being impeached. This time, he was found not guilty of inciting the riot at the Capitol Building on January 6th. Though much hyperventilating has commenced, I believe the facts supported that decision. Trump simply didn’t meet the standard for incitement, even some low-bar political standard set forth by Congress. To have found differently would presuppose that rowdy, yet commonly used political speech (“fight like hell,” etc.) now qualifies as promoting violence. That’s not a standard I think anyone in Washington truly wants applied evenly.
