Super Bowl 55 kicked off Sunday with recording artist Alicia Keys singing the so-called black national anthem, “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing,” along with a poem. Hitmaker Alicia Keys was tasked with a virtual performance of the 121-year-old spiritual song that has come to be known alternately as the “black national anthem” after being introduced in 1899 for Abraham Lincoln’s birthday. The poem read in 1899 was set to music in 1900. (Tweet/Video) Keys sang the song to kick off the season, as well. Both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs took the field during Keys’ performance on the jumbotron,

Cater to 13% of the country's population and see where your ratings go.

Oh well. Both basketball and football are just a spectacle of black gladiators performing for the mindless masses, anyway. Never much cared for either of them. A good baseball game used to be much more entertaining. If they wish to only cater to 13% of the population and the income that derives, it's fine with me.

I think if they are allowed to sing it they should be forced to sing all three verses. The prominent mention of God in the last verse would turn all the libs off it forever.

I can't respect a people who constitute less than 14% of the population yet commit half the violent crimes in the nation, and I have utter contempt for the media and politicians who hide the fact.

The Super Bowl now known as the The Toilet Bowl filled with ungrateful, highly paid turds swirling around a field demonstrating their hatred of our country and utter contempt for the stupid predominately white fans who pay their obscene salaries. Another sports destroyed by the communist death democrats. Can't wait to start hearing about the salary cuts and lay offs coming down the pike.

We’ve been watching it. In all the commercials blacks outnumber Whites. So far in the halftime show we haven’t seen a single White person.

Took the dog outside just as the flyover went by (I live about 5-10 miles north of Tampa). What a sight. How low were the planes? I could smell them.
The half time show is currently on. First them had a bunch of people dressed as robots. I was waiting for Mr. Roboto to be played. Now they have a bunch of people all wearing the same masks and jackets. Talk about conformity. Is that their message? I've lost count of all the politically correct social messages being played.
Wish they just played football.

Did they play The Star Spangled Banner or just the so-called black anthem?

I noticed that as well, #16. I'm surprised that they allowed Brady and Gronk to participate.

This too will go by the wayside once we have full blown communism, so I wouldn't get too excited about this becoming entrenched, useful idiots. This type of in your face stuff is only being used to demoralize the majority.

Hope it was sung better than the Star Spangled Banner was. They'd have been better replaying Whitney Houston from 1991 SB, also in Tampa.

The one thing I noticed about the Super Bowl ads, and it was no surprise, is that apparently 80 or so percent of America's population must be black. Or it just seemed that way. As for the spots promoting a remake of the old program, "The Equalizer," featuring a black woman in the lead role, that's all this country needs -- encouraging BLM members to commit acts of violence.

I haven't watched one second of the NFL this year. Roger Goodell and his cohorts have totally sold out to the corruptocrat narratives.

Sure hope all this advertizing inspiration to blacks makes them want to become doctors, scientists and lawyers instead of (fill in the blank). They will need high paying jobs to buy all that they promote. I'm sure that these promoters must be hiring blacks to lead their companies, right?

The country has one national anthem. This concept of a black national anthem is unbelievably divisive. I am sick of hearing about black this, black that, the black caucus, BET awards.... enough already! God created us all and in this country all men are created equal. Start acting like it!
