PJM’s Jeff Reynolds reported on the proposed “climate emergency” legislation that would declare climate change a “national emergency.” If passed, it would give Biden sweeping powers and unlock billions in spending.
Since there is no “climate emergency” at the moment, the radical greens have to create one. (Snip)
But suppose President Biden and other western leaders were to declare a “climate lockdown”? In a climate lockdown, “governments would limit private-vehicle use, ban the consumption of red meat, and impose extreme energy-saving measures, while fossil-fuel companies would have to stop drilling.”
As preposterous as that sounds it’s actually being seriously considered in some circles.

We knew this was coming almost a year ago. Climate emergencies mean no cars or trucks that burn fossil fuels will be allowed on the road for extended periods of time. Plus the cost of gas and diesel will necessarily skyrocket. So get ready for it.

Respectfully #2, 70 million Americans did not blow it. I don’t mean to sound argumentative. We tried but the win was stolen from us. I’m not sure how it will be fixed and I suspect it won’t be pretty.

It’s a great idea for the Left, in theory, but carrying it out might be difficult. Remember all of those corporations that helped push old Joe’s carcass across the finish line? Well, they aren’t going to like these lockdowns. I work in hospitality and my hotelier just loves the Left and are always blathering on about being green. Well, you halt travel and they will be in a world of hurt. No, the Left wants money. It’s the climate tax they want to institute and get their hands on. Because, you see, they really don’t care about the environment, they like money. If they cared about the environment they would have some harsh words for China. No, they go locking down the economy much more, they will find themselves in the crosshairs of the companies that own them. Just my two cents.

The Republic of Texas approaches.
Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, S Dakota, N Dakota, Montana, Alberta (Canada), Saskatchewan (Canada), Manitoba (Canada), and a few states along the sides. Let's go EAST. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida.
We have every warm water shipping port in The Gulf of Mexico and more oil than the Saudis ever dreamed of. California and New York can print their own money. They can trade via Panama.
We WILL protect our borders ,north and south.
If you're coming to visit Texas bring your US passport with the pre-approved visitor's visa.
The constitution of the United States does not specify HOW MANY STATES.

Go ahead you destructive bastids. When the population no longer has access to cars, heating fuel, and cooking fuel, the outcome to you will be something to behold.

Gas rationing. Pay-by-the mile. Every new car will have technology to upload information to Big Brother, and be controlled by same. Hmmm, the old girl just won't turn over today.... No miles for you!

I get the impression that most of the people on this site will never find the need to buy a new car again. I have two sweet Toyotas and a Kawasaki and the odds are favorable that I will stop running before they do. Corporations like Ford and GM are going to find it necessary to locate space to park thousands of unpurchased electric vehicles. Maybe that's why Bill Gates is buying all that farmland?

Amen, #12. At my age I buy a car for years, not miles. My intent is to keep my current vehicles until I am 70. Buy them with 100k+ on the clock. Low price, low taxes (yearly in NC), pay cash.
