Texans are fed up. They have had enough of the far Left turn that America has taken and they aren’t going to follow it down that path. Now a Representative in Texas has formally filed a bill that would put Texas on track to be the first state to secede from the nation.
The bill filed in the Texas legislature on Tuesday would put the issue of secession and Texan independence before voters of the state.
Rep. Kyle Biedermann of Fredericksburg, Texas, filed the “Texas Independence Referendum Act,” which is seen as the necessary first step towards the Lone Star State leaving the union.

If our state reps and senators acquiesced to Abbott on the COVID nonsense what makes one think they’d touch this thing with a ten meter cattle prod? There has been only one rep who filed a bill to come before the current session to curtail executive powers 30 days after an emergency is declared and I have seen nothing said about it or any statement of support from my rep or senator. At best they’re lazy; at worst they’re fine with their failure to represent the people during this “crises.”

Texas' admission to the Union allows an option to divide into 5 separate States. It would be an interesting exercise in Gerrymandering.

The left has torn up the U.S. constitution and no longer abides by, or refers to it. Texas needs to withdraw from DC. We cannot allow ourselves to be ruled by the left crazies.

The Republic of Texas approaches.
Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, S Dakota, N Dakota, Montana, Alberta (Canada), Saskatchewan (Canada), Manitoba (Canada), and a few states along the sides. Let's go EAST. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida.
We have every warm water shipping port in The Gulf of Mexico and more oil than the Saudis ever dreamed of. California and New York can print their own money. If they want to trade with each other they can use Panama.
We WILL protect our borders ,north and south.
If you're coming to visit Texas bring your US passport with the pre-approved visitor's visa.

one of only a couple of states with sensible leadership in government. other states should pay attention and consider their options as well.

I have been waiting for this....I suspect that other states will follow suit. Then businesses will have to decide where they want to locate. This should be fun.

Hey it would be great but until I see a move by fellow Texans to reject weak GOP and realize Republican elected officials will fight us tooth and nail, I am not getting excited. We can’t keep saying oh we have to stay Republican and yet think Texit will happen. Texit has to be a part of helping that new now unrepresented giant group of MAGA voters to get organized.

It might be time to divide the United States like Europe.
Let the north eastern states become one, include Washington DC.
The Mississippi River could be an excellent division point.
If the Liberals want to play game of adding new states for control.
I vote to make Texas into 5 states, Alaska into 7 states, divide the Dakota states into east and west, Montana into 3 states.

Sounds good. Maybe I need to move to Texas if this passes, or work on getting Kansas to join them.

Start printing currency backed by oil, natural gas, cattle and wheat. Let the other states worry about the $30 trillion in debt the federal government is racking up.

The Berlin Wall was torn down in November of 1989. By the end of the year the communist bloc in Eastern Europe had toppled like dominoes. If Texas goes, look for the same domino effect happening here. Since the left has shredded the Constitution we red states won’t have to worry about our actions being unconstitutional.

CW 2.0? Succession was tried before, but the snap back was very, very bad. As much as I'd like to be shed of DC and the NE and Left Coast, this could be very scary. I'll watch and see what happens.

The blue states will never let a red state escape. The red states are the ATM machine of the country.
