The fiasco involving the Democrats' misuse of the National Guard just keeps expanding.
According to the Washington Examiner's Tim Carney:
National Guard troops stationed at the Capitol famously have had to nap on the building's marble floors, but that's not the worst thing about their working conditions. The food is. The reason: The National Guard Bureau hired a food contractor to feed the troops, but the contractor simply messed up.
The fare, it turns out, was junk food, which one Guardsman's wife called "toddler snacks." One example, from Carney, whose story has all the miserable proof in the pictures:
Less than $3 a pop, retail - but how much did WE pay for those meals?

The National Guard, deployed to save inaugural Washington from an onrush of violent MAGA hat-wearing barber shop quartets, alter guild ladies, Sunday morning service ushers, historical reenactors, Elks, small business owners and other Conservatives, is still there. The preferred story by Democrats and other loons is that on January 6th the Right attempted a coup by storming the Capitol Building with a small number of unarmed trespassers who mainly wandered around aimlessly and gawked in what was reported as a highly threatening manner. At that, the Communists in charge of the whole damned District brought their foot soldiers in place and are, no doubt, going to use them. We see those troops as brothers, sisters, daughters, sons, boyfriends, wives, husbands, patriots and heroes but to the criminal Left they are just the help, just bitter clingers and deplorables and their well-being is a mere afterthought. The toddler snacks are the modern equivalent of slave food and are meant as an insult.

This is really sad, our troops deserve better than this, but wait, the small kid- size meals are perfect when you only have one bathroom w two stalls to accommodate 5, 000 men.
I bet the illegal aliens fare better w Biden in office then these soldiers.

Aren't there a some McDonalds, Wendys, Burger Kings, Jack In The Boxes and a few other local breakfast joints they could have gotten food from? How 'bout pizza delivery. That was always good in college - even for breakfast. If I was using hired security I'd be paying top dollar to keep them happy. Might check out Roman emperor Caligula and his untimely demise.

The National Guard were used as a prop by the Democrats to gin up easily manipulated liberals and to villanize Trump supporters. Maybe next time the Governors of red States will think twice.

The Occupation Forces in our White House are storming along, I see.
But why you keep disrespecting trained men and women with weapons is beyond me.
BTW: have we heard where Xiden is donating his paycheck this month?

A deployment that size is a logistical nightmare. We used to avoid much of it by bringing our own tents, heaters, food (MRE's) and heavy construction equipment. We had engineers from all the trades who could build just about anything. We did have to contract locally for fuel and outhouses, but that beats contracting everything.
Our squadron had two engineer teams back then, 100 man and 250 man. I imagine 25,000 would be a lot trickier.

No, Monica, the ultimate blame falls on the logisticians and commanders - especially the Chief of the Guard Bureau. The Chief and his G-4 should be sacked immediately. As #10 says there are many moving parts to this, and given the lack of mobe orders it was a slap dash operation. But that doesn’t mean they can’t improvise. For example, we are a total Army, right? What about Fort Myer as a support area? Joint Base Anacostia? Or would that disturb the generals in their quarters? I’m just thinking out loud here, but from a military chain of command aspect this was an epic fail, and the Army Chief of Staff needs to get on the podium and answer for this.

Governors, call your National Guard Home! It is outrageous to leave them there when they are treated like that! There is no good reason for them to be there. D.C is not under siege! If Members of congress are afraid for their lives, they should quit and to home and get a real job. Otherwise, shut up and quit whining!

Cut the Dems some slack - they only thing they know about the military is that it is bad and needs to be destroyed.

Nancy Pelosi has no right to call up the Guard. Send them home. She can live in the same "fear' that the people of Portland, Seattle, etc, are under every day.

FTA, "So whoever it was, it kind of looks as though a contractor took the cash and minimized delivery, quite possibly keeping the extra for himself. There are more ways than one of creating a $6,000 toilet seat, it seems."
Always, follow the money. I would bet the "contractor" had no experience but had all the correct qualifications to get a payback from the RATs. The reason the Guard Bureau won't name the "contractor" is probably because it's some relative of a member of the House or Senate. Maybe Xiden's brother or son Hunter got the contract. We'll never know.

Perhaps the troops would be better off if they told 'officials' whoever these jerks are, that they are illegals. They will rush mattresses, solid food, toilettes, showers and anything else they need. WHO is the jerk of a general supposedly 'handling' our troops?? Hunter Biden in charge of them????
