President Joe Biden’s pick for secretary of transportation said recently that a tax on gasoline is possible.
“I think all options need to be on the table. The gas tax has not been increased since 1993, and it’s never been paid to inflation. And that’s one of the reasons why the current state of the Highway Trust Fund is there’s more going out than coming in. Up until now, that’s been addressed with general funding transfers. I don’t know whether Congress would want to continue doing that,” former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg told senators during his confirmation hearing last week.

He must have lived in Pennsylvania where our REPUBLICAN legislators voted for one of the LARGEST transportation fuel tax. We can thank Dan Moul our republican state rep that said he would do it again.
The entire nation is crumbling.

In all our endeavors we must always "Screw as much money from those that have it so that we can give it to those that "need" it." Where did that come from? The fundamental objective of Communism

Did one think that the Biden-ho administration wouldn't raise taxes, taxes of all kinds? Did one think that the Biden-ho administration wouldn't kill jobs? Dream on . . . dream on. How do you like it so far? Just think, only 3 years and 340 days to go for Biden-ho.

All those legitimate voters for Xiden are going to be facing increased taxes, too. Not the fake voters, though. They aren't real. Because that's what democraps do; tax and spend. I hope they realize that this gas tax is only the beginning. There will be many other things to come.
All of us should be prepared for all prices to shoot up, along with unemployment figures, when this $15 minimum wage goes into effect. Jobs for teens will be few and far between, also for many adults. Or is everyone going to get a similar raise to compensate for the rise in prices?
Again I have to mention, I'm glad I drive a Prius!!

As usual, media fail to ask the proper questions. The primary one in this case is:
Will the gas tax revenue go to roads and bridges ie motorways for vehicles using gas?
Too often the government uses fuel taxes as a slush fund for choo-choo trains, solar and other useless idiocy.

Gas prices in my area started going up shortly after the election. The oil companies knew that Xiden would end fracking and the pipeline and acted accordingly. My car uses mid-level gas and it’s now up almost 50 cents per gallon. And all of that is before Buttplug’s new taxes.

It isn't just gas prices that are going up, we have already paid our "stimulus" checks back in the form of higher prices for everything since it was monopoly money with zero productive value behind it. Actually negative value as we strangle real wealth creation, and in the process left future generations to foot the bill for our unwillingness to pay for today's reality today.
Buttengage had better be crafting his narrative to blame the inevitable decrease in tax revenue on the extreme far right homophobes, pointy hat wearing Nazi Neanderthals. We have already reached stage 1 of running out of other peoples money, they still have something left to take but in attempting tp take more we actually end up getting less.

This is part of the strategy to incentivize electric cars. But when/if all or most of the cars and trucks are electric, where is the transportation money coming from? Democrats have a really hard time with 'unforeseen consequences' because they can't see much beyond the end of their noses.

Gas tax in Illinois already up 11%...so I tank up in Iowa...taking into consideration the travel distance... I'm still way ahead...WE the people are fast on our feet... WE are exceptional Americans and can think for ourselves...it's obvious that the DCswamp needs our tax money ... so figure out a plan to cut their taxes...let's implement our own tax cut... just like President Trump did on a larger scale... WE learned from the master how to work DC...thank you President Trump for leading the way...

Or maybe the Highway Trust Fund should be exclusively used for maintaining highways and bridges, which is its official reason for existence.

Recently took a trip from Ohio to the Peoples Republic of Maryland. Gas Buddy showed us $2/gallon in Ohio, $2.39 in corrupt Pennsylvania and the Peoples Republic was $2.19. Easy to fill up on either side but the tolls are still ridiculous and no way around it.

I told my friends expect $4.30 by early 2023. Unfortunately you can't show a voter registration card to show you are not responsible and still get the low $2/gallon price before Jo Bi Deng.

A tax hike on fuel along with the price skyrocketing because of Buck Fiden's attacks on the fuel industry will have us all on a bicycle.

#17, I can’t remember who said it - may have been PDT’s energy secretary, but apparently in it’s current state the electrical grid is not powerful enough to take care of the country having only electric cars. To expand the amount of electricity needed we will have to burn a lot more coal and other “fossil” fuels. The left is so blinded by their own environmental ignorance that they can’t see this. So the next step will be to take away our cars and put us on bicycles - Cloward Piven and Agenda 21 are already in the works.
