Legendary NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw announced his retirement on Friday, closing the curtain on his half-century-long career chronicling some of the most tumultuous times in U.S. history. Brokaw, 80, will hang up his mic as the only anchor to have ever led all three of NBC's primary news shows: "Nightly News," "TODAY" and "Meet the Press." "During one of the most complex and consequential eras in American history, a new generation of NBC News journalists, producers and technicians is providing America with timely, insightful and critically important information, 24/7," Brokaw said in a statement. "I could not be more proud of them."

It's terrible that he made half his career writing a book about the Greatest Generation that saved America
and yet he and his fellow media comrades despise any american that is trying to save America now.

An America hating word manipulator retires after looking into a camera and lying for half a century. Luckily, I have not had to watch his charades for years since I cut the cable.

Don’t let the screen door hit you, Mumbles. You were never a brain trust but you sure could lie with a sincere look on your face. Perfect for fake news.

The big announcement won’t make much of a splash, Tom. NBC is not very important anymore. Its best days far behind it and they traded journalistic integrity for partisan leftist bias years ago.

Maybe in retirement he'll have time to learn how to pronounce the letters "R" and "L". Such an annoying affectation. Never could stomach the guy. Almost as pompous as Ted Koppel.

As a recovering TV reporter, I well remember reading about Brokenjaw's VERY close relationships with the left. At least the most "trusted man in America," Father Cronkite, didn't show his true colors until after he retired. In a Reader's Digest article he said, "We only tell the people what we think they should know." Any questions, class?

In early 90’s, I believe, in the last minute or so of a NBC nightly news telecast, Brokaw made a vicious editorial attack on President GHW Bush. That was the last time I watched network news. A few years later, Brokaw smeared Richard Jewel because Mr. Jewell fit the profile of who Brokaw wanted to be guilty of the Olympic Park bombing. Brokaw is an elitist hypocrite democrat operative who has posed as a journalist for the past 55 years.

You know the story Tom - don't permit door, behind, see ya. Tom always struck me a person surprised by his own voice when speaking, and therefore always on the edge of panic.

Here is the on air hatchet job Brokaw did to Richard Jewell: "The speculation is that the FBI is close to making the case. They probably have enough to arrest him right now, probably enough to prosecute him, but you always want to have enough to convict him as well. There are still some holes in this case."
For that smear, NBC coughed up $500,000 in a settlement to Jewell. They got off easy.
