Samsung could build a $10 billion advanced logic chipmaking plant in Austin, according to media reports, potentially adding to the company's existing multibillion-dollar facilities in Central Texas. If it happens, the Samsung expansion would add to a series of recent stunning wins for Austin's technology sector. In just the past six months, Austin saw electric automaker Tesla pick it as the site for a $1 billion assembly facility and software giant Oracle move its corporate headquarters to Austin. Citing people familiar with the plans, Bloomberg news service reported that Samsung is considering spending more than $10 billion on the plant, which could be Samsung's most advanced yet.

About 40 years ago people thought Austin would become the Silicon Hills. It's taken this long, but people are finally bailing on CA.

Samsung made my tvs, dvds, displays, cell phone, memories for pcs, etc. Now that it not an import from South Korea maybe the prices will go down.

I understand your concern #2, but now you get an idea of what native Californians have been dealing with for decades.

Or, perhaps, it's more a shame that Austin is crazy lefty, #1. Economic growth is needed, and Austin's recent additions are helpful.

Samsung needs to stop making appliances. they are THE WORST!!repeat THE WORST..
as a property mgr.. who has had to "repair" washers, dryers, stoves and fridges...trust me..don't buy them..this week.. had a very expensive 6 yr. old fridge..
needed a 699.00 repair bill PLUS they were not able to repair the ice maker..needless to say, junked it and bought a Frigidaire. my wonderful appliance repair guy said that you can't even tell from a model number how old it is..because they use the same model number..

Paging Befuddled Biden! We cannot have anyone creating jobs in America. That would be good for the country, and we can't have that.

#9, there's a local repair company and the owner agrees with you about Samsung appliances. However, I have used their DVDs, TVs and the Samsung Galaxy phone for years and they are fantastic.
I just wonder about Austin though.

Texans need to fight hard to prevent that great state from going the way of California. Don't give leftists an inch; fight hard against them every step of the way. Ted Cruz barely beat butt-boy after their former governor courted Californians begging them to come to Texas; you have to do better. The same goes for all red states, especially those seeing heavy migrations from the North and the left coast. We fought for America, but over decades, we conceded too much to the left. Every time they whined about something being unfair or "not who we are," we gave them an inch, and they took over. Now, America is in the process of becoming a communist nation. We've been a socialist nation for decades, but we wouldn't admit it. You don't even hear people use socialism as much as marxist and communist to describe us now.

And the Biden administration (oh how I hate printing those words) will probably force Samsung (if necessary, not sure of Samsung's hiring practices) to hire foreign workers to man the plant instead of US workers. We've seen it happen before.
