LOS ANGELES — Larry King, the suspenders-sporting everyman whose broadcast interviews with world leaders, movie stars and ordinary Joes helped define American conversation for a half-century, died Saturday. He was 87. King died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, his production company, Ora Media, tweeted. No cause of death was given, but a spokesperson said Jan. 4 that King had COVID-19, had received supplemental oxygen and had been moved out of intensive care. His son Chance Armstrong also confirmed King’s death, CNN reported. A longtime nationally syndicated radio host

Not someone that I will miss.
I'll never forget his "big scoop" live interview with the jury forelady just after the trial of the police officers involved in the Rodney King arrest. The media liars had been pumping all sorts of false information about how the cops were racists and beat up King for no reason. The media circus was much like the George Zimmerman case, all falsehoods, all the time and the media were shocked when the officers were found innocent, with the exception of either one or two blows with their batons which were deemed 'against their training' and illegal.
King started off to just ream her out for the jury doing "the wrong thing". The very intelligent and well spoken forelady made mincemeat of King with a steady litany of clearly stated facts that the jury had painstakingly viewed the video frame by frame and identified every single blow of each baton. They had then compared the blows to the police training and 'rules of engagement' which the officers operated under. They found that all the blows to be according to police doctrine and training, except one or two, which appeared to be accidentally slightly misplaced in the melee. Those blow(s) [I can no longer remember the number, perhaps one or maybe as many as two or three] were punished by some sort of an excessive force misdemeanor conviction for, I believe, one officer. King was left with his accusations and preconceptions in tatters on the floor, sliced to ribbons by clear, concise explanation of the facts of the case, which the media either didn't know or refused to broadcast in their propaganda. It was delicious, and I never again trusted King, clearly seeing that he had an anti-police agenda, and wasn't too bright, either.

He was an agnostic and later an atheist, I believe.
Now he knows.

His interview with Jerry Seinfeld, during which he referenced NBC canceling the sitcom. As he began rambling with his thought Jerry had to interrupt him (I may be paraphrasing): "Wo. Wo. Canceled? Larry. We were the number one show on television. Canceled? Who does your research?" Long seconds of awkward silence, and Larry never did respond but simply moved on instead. Love it when narcissists get put in their place.

#3 Are you praying that god is merciful to Larry or are you praying that god is harsh with his final judgement? Whatever that may be?

Yup, COVID victim. 87 years old, long time smoker, quintuple bypass in the late '80s, cancerous tumor removed from lung in 2017, stroke in 2019. I think any case of the flu could have been fatal. But we need to keep pushing the COVID hysteria to move vaccines.

Look, I know that it's an unwritten rule out here, and a good one, that we're not supposed to post on a thread just to say that we don't care about the subject matter..
But just this once...

Re #3. That fits with something I read that he was so frightened of death that he slept with all the lights on in his bedroom. Sad way to live.

Okay, rest in peace Larry.
I will remember the stunt he pulled on Larry King Live when Pres Bush 41 was on the show and taking live calls. And gosh, golly gee, who should get through other than George Stephenapolous, at the time not a "respected journalist (sarcasm key now off)", but then the dirty tricks guy for Presidential candidate Bill Clinton. Later, it was found out that King's people and Clinton's people arranged the ambush.
