This week the Biden administration put a 60-day hold on new oil and gas leases on public lands. While this is only temporary at the moment, the expectation is that this moratorium will become permanent sometime soon. This shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone who has been paying attention because Biden promised prior to the election that he would do this. Here it is from his own climate plan page [emphasis added]: Protecting America’s natural treasures by permanently protecting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and other areas impacted by President Trump’s attack on federal lands and waters

Attaining energy independence was a great MAGA achievement. Biden will insure that we once again become dependent.

Oil is not a fossil fuel. Find this article and read paragraph 11. Oil is a renewable resource. Oil does not come from dinosaurs.

Remember if you drive a car you'll be paying $5.00 a gallon a year from now. If you heat your home with oil or natural gas, you'll be paying much more to do so. Products delivered by truck will be going up considerably. Buttigieg has ideas to tax you on the miles you drive every year if and when he becomes Secretary of Transportation. And this is only the beginning. The statement that elections have consequences has never been truer than what Biden has done the first 4 days into his administration. And the worst is yet to come. Oh and by the way, yesterday 8 Chinese nuclear bombers and 4 fighter jets flew over Taiwan air space. If China moves against Taiwan, do you think Sleepy Joe will do anything. No, of course not. China isn't a threat to the United States. Right Joe. They're your buddies. You can trust them, right?

#11, not everyone is a moron in NM. Only the 54% that voted for Biden! Interestingly 43.5% voted for Trump. The "blue" areas tend to be concentrated around largest cities - Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces - and the northwest quadrant. The rest of the state is "red." Not too long ago, NM was considered a swing state. Sadly, it is not any longer.

Biden is absolutely right on track to be the worst damned POTUS in all our history! Worst than Carter. Worst than Obama (can you believe it?). I have never seen anyone so obtuse to common sense as he!

New Mexico was wasn't always a bad place. There are still pockets of goodness there, though they are shrinking quickly. The state started going to Hell when the Californians started moving in decades ago. The hippies were weird but harmless. The regular Californians are a cancer.

Yes, not all of the NM voters are bad. My cousin lives there, and he said, 31‰ of our budget is from oil and natural gas, 20% tourism, he didn't have the percentages for military & taxes. He said we are screwed.

to #18:
I will continue to make fun of every Prius and Tesla I see...and LOL particularly hard every time I see their owners parked at a recharging station for hours on end, with seemingly no other priorities in life, as they mindlessly chant the mantra, "52 mpg, 52 mpg, 52 mpg". Most of them will never wake up to the fact that the huge fraction of the electricity that charges their cars is not generated by solar, wind, or 'batteries', but by fossil fuels, or that the manufacture and recycling of their cars, given their short lifespan, will cause far more collective environmental impact than any gas guzzler ever did.

Colorado will also suffer. Lots of oil and gas in the red parts of the state, but the leftists along the Front Range and ski resorts won't care. They'll still have jobs.

This will affect Texas too. There is next to nothing federal acreage in the state (because it was a republic when it entered the union) but this many unemployed people next to the Texas Permian basin (it's an easy 1 or 2 hour drive) will severely depress Texan wages throughout the vast west Texas field.
