Something touched me deep inside The day the music died (Snip) We live in troubling times. The American election is over but the popular belief that it was fraudulently engineered shows no sign of abating. The evidence that a vast conspiracy has occurred, particularly in several swing states, is convincing for a significant portion of the electorate, and the complicity of a censoring media apparatus is undoubted. Even reputable conservative thinkers and writers, while deploring the current state of political events, seem to take cover by speaking ill of Trump, or repeating Democratic Party talking points, or doing their best to waffle the issues. Republican congressmen and women justify their pusillanimity

Comments:

I found this to be a very, very good essay. Solway touches on many points that are important to us, that we talk about a lot. A good Sunday read… PS. Forgive me for Snipping Don McClean’s name, but I needed the word spaces. He’d understand.

I had a skype visit with some of my many Ukranian friends today. They asked about the election, and I explained that it was a fraud. They said "this is normal in Ukraine", and I said, "but it is not normal in the USA, I am not sure what will happen." Didn't want to get too far into it on skype, and with foreigners, so it didn't go to much farther. Yes, #1, exactly.

Feel like the Oakie in the Grapes of Wrath facing a bull dozer about to destroy his shack. You are facing the full power of the government. Resistance? No pay my taxes? I don't want to go to prison in a futile gesture. Since I've been around the sun a few times the only silver lining to this dark cloud is I'll be worm munchies before The Left totally destroys America.

Why bye bye ? I am a recent LEGAL immigrant from Canada and have a slightly different perspective. My natural born American friends (millions of them) seem to have this fascination with PRESIDENTIAL elections. Ross Perot did pretty OK at catching about 20% of the vote. Let's take a time out and see where a THIRD PARTY can be effective like 2022. The Constitution Party where Trump is running for the Senate can take 10 Senate seats and 40 or so House seats. So President or no president they will be sweating every vote. They will have to accommodate the Constitution Party in some way because they know come 2024 we will primary every dam one of them.

Not just "some people" who believe a fraud has been committed. Joe Biden himself declared that they have put together the most massive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics. He spoke proudly of the fact in a video clip that has been circulating for several months.

#11, welcome to the USA. Enjoy it while you can. Tragically it is dying. Your suggestion might have worked at some time in the past. Now it is no longer possible, thanks to the Uniparty, the press and too many entrenched traitors. They stole this right in front of our eyes and then the justice system covered it up by ignoring it. All with the blessing of an evil media. Everyone is on their own now. None of the protections of the past work anymore. We have failed as a society, a government and a country. This realization will slowly be discovered by the weaker minds here and around the world. The World will suffer for this, not just us.

Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Ratcliffe assessed that China interfered in the 2020 federal elections, according to a letter transmitted to Congress. In the letter (pdf), Ratcliffe alleges that intelligence about China’s election interference was suppressed by management at the CIA, which pressured analysts to withdraw their support for the view. Citing a report by the Intelligence Community’s analytic ombudsman Barry Zulauf, the director of national intelligence said that some analysts were reluctant to describe China’s actions as election interference because they disagreed with the policies of President Donald Trump.

Big Tech, social media, and the press used the violence on Capitol Hill on Jan. 6 as a pretext to purge their platforms of conservative figures and Republican officials, most notably President Donald Trump. Amazon, Apple, and Google conspired to deplatform Parler,(Snip). Critics of the sweeping actions argue, rightly, that censorship violates not only First Amendment freedoms but also the spirit of the law protecting internet service providers from liability. But this isn’t censorship. Rather, it’s part of the strategic logic of mass conflict. The leadership of the political, corporate, and cultural establishment that today rules America shut down the communications of those against whom they are waging war.

According to Utah District Magistrate Judge Daphne Oberg, the motion for Sullivan’s detention was denied because it didn’t meet the court’s threshold for a hearing. During the Black Lives Matter era, the number of deaths by murder in the U.S. has increased over 40 percent in the years 2014 to 2020, with several thousand more incremental homicides just since the death of George Floyd. What can we do about it? I’d like to discuss social media, drug policy, and the death penalty. But first: If you find you are inciting violence, stop inciting violence. The data are now conclusive that relative to the declining homicide trend line of the previous era, the Black Lives Matter push has gotten an extra 10,000 or more black lives ended over the past half dozen years.

PHOENIX -- Federal prosecutors who initially said there was “strong evidence” the pro-Trump mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol last week aimed to “capture and assassinate elected officials” backed away from the allegation after the head of the investigation cautioned Friday that the probe is still in its early stages and there was no “direct evidence” of such intentions. All 13 were nursing home patients and at least 80 years old. While officials aren’t expressing serious concern, they are adjusting their guidance on who should receive the vaccine.

Various left-wing writers (some of them nominally Republican) have been salivating over the prospects of a GOP civil war. Nothing would make them happier than to see Republicans tearing each other apart in a fight over President Trump and the future of the GOP. However, this will not happen. Say what you will about that disastrous Swine Flu vax, however. Unlike the mRNA technology that Pfizer’s currently pushing on a mostly unsuspecting world, at least it really meets the definition of a vaccine. Josh Blackman, a constitutional law professor writing on The Volokh Conspiracy, suggests he certainly does and that his speech on January 6 is a weak reed (as was Nancy Pelosi’s past impeachment folly) on which to gain a conviction in the Senate. (Remember an impeachment vote in the House is basically an indictment with no effect unless the Senate finds guilt after a trial.) Looking at the most analogous case, the impeachment of President Andrew Jackson, he finds plenty of reason for senators to vote against it.
