Two Iranian men living in Canada are accused by U.S. authorities of buying “highly sophisticated” manufacturing and transportation equipment and secretly shipping it to Iran to circumvent strict sanctions. Using subterfuge, lies and masquerades, they overcame repeated refusals from companies around the world and eventually shipped nine electrical discharge boards, a CPU for a precision fabrication machine, two servo motors and two railroad crankshafts from the United States to Iran, authorities allege. Along with another Iranian national, they are also accused of international money laundering in a plot spanning 11 countries and stretching over two years. The charges come amid continuing international tension between Iran and both Canada and the United States.

Comments:

Meanwhile. Biden will let them walk.

Apparently they thought Trump was going to win otherwise they would have just waited and obtained everything they need from Joe. Then again perhaps they were concerned that China might object

Many people are under the delusion that international shipping containers are all inspected. The volume only allows a small percentage to be checked. Tractor trailers within the United States receive more scrutiny than the international stuff going in and out of other countries. This equipment could have been labeled as bicycles and skateboards. The DHS nightmare of something nasty arriving here in a container is very real in spite of all of our dogs, x-ray, radiation detection and other technology.

Deutsche Bank AG has reportedly decided to cut ties with President Donald Trump as well as his private companies following the unrest at Capitol Hill last week. The German lender has been joined by the New York-based Signature Bank, which also announced that it would be ending its business relationship with the President. Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday that two insiders within Deutsche Bank — who remained anonymous ostensibly due to banking regulations — confirmed that the German banking giant would no longer conduct any further business with President Trump or his company.

A Texas judge may strike down President Barack Obama’s 2012 DACA amnesty for roughly 700,000 illegal migrants — and undermine other giveaway programs that allow U.S. employers to keep foreign workers in jobs needed by Americans. In a December 22 hearing, the pro-migration supporters of Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) amnesty asked District Judge Andrew Hanen to preserve the award of work permits, regardless of the economic impact on non-college Americans. Hanen called the hearing after Texas, and other states filed a lawsuit to have the DACA amnesty declared illegal.

The Bureau of Land Management on Friday said it was removing 10 tracts, encompassing nearly 475,000 acres, from its Jan. 6 oil and gas lease sale in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge’s coastal plain.
The federal agency also said it will begin receiving bids for the remaining available tracts on Monday. (SNIP)
President-elect Joe Biden and his nominee for Interior secretary, Rep. Deb Haaland, D-N.M., both oppose oil development in the refuge, although a lease sale could make it harder for them to halt it.

China’s trade actions on Australian wine, beef and other goods may have delivered a substantial hit to our economy but this is likely to be offset by the booming iron ore price, new analysis suggests. While specific industries targeted by China will be hurting, the trade tensions with Australia are driving up prices for iron ore and could leave the economy better off overall. Deloitte economist Chris Richardson said a “fear tax” had driven iron ore prices so high, (SNIP) All commodities are priced in US dollars and so the falls in the currency have also made iron ore more expensive, alongside low interest rates.

State Senator Andrew Lanza is expected to introduce a bill early in the next legislative session to formally sever Staten Island’s ties to New York City — on everything from municipal services, schools, the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), and the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA). “Staten Island should be an independent City — and at 476,000 people it will rank as the State’s second-most populous,” a source close to Lanza’s thinking tells The Chronicle. “We have a GDP of more than $14.5 billion and we can afford to take care of ourselves.” Staten Island is a bastion of Republicanism in the overwhelmingly Democrat-controlled City of New York.

Nothing says “bold” and “change” like putting John Kerry in your cabinet and freezing out Elizabeth Warren. Joe Biden’s move to make the former Massachusetts senator his climate czar is a predictable nod to climate change activists who want to see the issue given a prominent place in the new White House. It also ensures taxpayers will be footing the bill for the jet-setting millionaire Kerry to take plenty of future junkets to Paris and Oslo and other prime spots around the world. Who knows, maybe Kerry will land a trip to Antarctica.

It’s been ongoing for awhile, but got really bad and obvious around the election and after. While Fox still ended the year leading the other networks for this past year, the trouble spots were obvious and their ratings took a hammering last week where they finished third behind MSNBC and CNN, the first time that’s happened in 20 years, since the Clinton administration. Democrats are making extraordinary efforts to suppress all discussion of whether Joe Biden actually won the 2020 presidential election. In fact, they go even farther: they want to suppress all discussion of the extent to which voter fraud occurred. That naturally makes me want to write about voter fraud, and who really won the election. First, this question: why are the Democrats so hysterical in their insistence that fraud not be mentioned? One reason is obvious. Joe Biden will take office under a cloud, since close to half of all Americans doubt that he really won the election. The Democrats want to stamp out
