Two Iranian men living in Canada are accused by U.S. authorities of buying “highly sophisticated” manufacturing and transportation equipment and secretly shipping it to Iran to circumvent strict sanctions. Using subterfuge, lies and masquerades, they overcame repeated refusals from companies around the world and eventually shipped nine electrical discharge boards, a CPU for a precision fabrication machine, two servo motors and two railroad crankshafts from the United States to Iran, authorities allege. Along with another Iranian national, they are also accused of international money laundering in a plot spanning 11 countries and stretching over two years. The charges come amid continuing international tension between Iran and both Canada and the United States.

Deutsche Bank AG has reportedly decided to cut ties with President Donald Trump as well as his private companies following the unrest at Capitol Hill last week.
The German lender has been joined by the New York-based Signature Bank, which also announced that it would be ending its business relationship with the President.

In a December 22 hearing, the pro-migration supporters of Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) amnesty asked District Judge Andrew Hanen to preserve the award of work permits, regardless of the economic impact on non-college Americans.
Hanen called the hearing after Texas, and other states filed a lawsuit to have the DACA amnesty declared illegal.
The Bureau of Land Management on Friday said it was removing 10 tracts, encompassing nearly 475,000 acres, from its Jan. 6 oil and gas lease sale in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge’s coastal plain.

Senator Ben Sasse (R., Neb.) on Friday called for the rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol last week to be “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” saying those who participated in the unrest that left five dead were “terrorists attacking this country’s constitutionally-mandated transfer of power.”
