Is a second impeachment of Donald Trump really “so ill-advised,” as Joe Manchin claims? It depends on what House Democrats want out of it. If they hope to get Trump removed and barred from further office, Manchin warns that it won’t happen. The votes simply don’t exist: “I think this is so ill-advised for Joe Biden to be coming in, trying to heal the country, trying to be the president of all the people when we are going to be so divided and fighting again. Let the judicial system do its job,” said Manchin, who represents a state where Trump is very popular.
Manchin added that he did not believe

Democrats are so desperate to have us believe that Biden won in a “free & fair” election that they’re finding it necessary to stage a coup to prove it.

Yes, Mitch. Stab America in the back and come back early. Put another Trump impeachment up for vote in the senate. The house is already going to let us know which house republicrats to remove at their next elections. Please, do show us which senate republicrats need to be voted out as well.

Who the hell does Mitch McConnell think he is? Those Republicans who want to have the faintest chance for re-election need to get a new leader in the Senate. This is the Turtle's last stand. "Ditch Mitch!"

Ah, maybe President Trump won't be able to run again...in the United States of America but in the New United States of America, (capital in Texas), he can.
Oh, BTW..if they can impeach President Trump after he's left office, than it's open season on bill clinton.

#6 Impeach??? Why not charge him with his crimes and send him to jail. Did you ever think a crooked lying thief would get elected to run this country. Then his VP - well, we know what she is too. Coddles the thugs and terrorists. Dear Lord, help us.

McConnell is on thin ice with the Republican base as it is, and convening an emergency session of the Senate to conduct an impeachment trial before Trump leaves office would not help him or the Republican party. While the press and leftists are in full cry over the capital incident, the Republican base sees it for what it is: political opportunism and using a "crisis" to silence the 94% of Republicans who supported Trump. McConnell and the GOPe didn't want to admit widespread voter fraud because if they did, they'd have to do something about it, and they didn't have the guts for that. I doubt they have a chance of recapturing the Senate in 2022, but they haven't realized it yet since they haven't figured out why they lost it.

At the moment, Manchin is the most powerful member of the Senate, and could be for at least the next two years. All he needs to do is tell Schumer, "give me a reason to change parties." He can start this week by stopping the Democrats in both houses with such a statement.

If we're holding out our hopes that Joe Manchin will be the "conscience" of the Senate, we are in deep do-do.
Joe Manchin played moderate back in 2018 so he could fool the rubes back home into re-electing him. He voted for Impeachment and against Justice Amy Comey Barrett, And he'll play the song Chuckie Schumer tells him to play until 2024, when he'll get a hall pass to play conservative for that year and fool the rubes back in WV another time.
He's already said he's for statehood for DC and Puerto Rico. Maybe we should just give WV back to Virginia.

If the stupid party had any sense whatsoever they would be courting Joe Manchin and Tulsi Gabbard to come over to the Republican party and make heads explode on the Dem side. Joe, they are going to kill the coal industry for superstition. Tulsi you have more brains than the rest of the party.
But the stupid party will wet the bed for the next 4 years.

After the last election fiasco in Virginia, West Virginia has no interest in letting them rejoin us.
And Joe Manchin's day's are numbered in DC, no matter what party he belongs to. Joe is for Joe.

Joe Manchin does the math.
In 2016, West Virginia awarded Donald Trump 68.5% of the presidential vote, and in 2020 he received 68.6% of the vote. In BOTH elections, all 55 counties of the state were red.
In 2018, West Virginia awarded Joe Manchin with 49.6% of the vote, as a third candidate received 4.2% and diluted the vote count of his republican opponent.
