What's gotten into Walmart?
America's biggest corporation, presumably with a reputation to defend, is hiring undisciplined, do-whatever-you-want punks to run its social media operation, or so they claim in what passes for their apology.
The tweet in question was described by Politico here:
Sen. Josh Hawley traded sharp words with Walmart’s corporate Twitter account on Wednesday over his contention of the 2020 election results, prompting the superstore giant to apologize to the Missouri Republican.
After announcing his intention to challenge President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral victory Wednesday, Walmart’s Twitter account responded, “Go ahead. Get your 2 hour debate. #soreloser,” in a since-deleted tweet.

Walmart's apology isn't really real if the rogue tweeter is still employed at Walmart. What would Walmart have done if the tweet had been a racial slur?

Done with Walmart. From now on, I am only shopping in stores where all the employees speak English. Does that make me a racist? No.
When I ask someone for help in a store, what I am looking for is help. I do not want a blank stare. It is unfortunate that they do not speak English, but it is my money that is paying their salary.

If they had insulted the left, they would be paying advocacy groups like BLM to buy atonement. I would like to see $1M given to Judicial Watch and re-education seminars by Dinesh D’Souza at Walmart HQ.
Anything less shows a pattern of intolerance toward their customers.

Wish I could start boycotting Walmart, but I stopped shopping there in 2002.

Sam Walton was a Republican. Honored by Republican leadership. No longer Walmart stands for the American people. I will take my business somewhere where I am appreciated. They can take all their Chinese stuff and sell it in china.

Walmart is gradually dropping their Chinese line of stuff and purchasing more from India. They are the only store in my town that does not have mask nazis so I will forgive this one remark as bad judgement by a snowflake manager. We have heard much worse.

Walmart should not be taking political sides. Fire the idiots who wrote this nonsense or see your company's profits suffer, Walmart. I am on the right. If I ran a store, I would not publicize my politics. That isn't my role as a store owner. My job is to provide and sell goods and services. As a store owner, I would not criticize -- for example -- Harris. I loathe the woman. But I would loathe her privately, not as a business owner.

"This social media staffer is no longer employed by Walmart." was notably MISSING from the "apology." That is all anyone needs to know.

For decades, the DSA (Ozero's party the Democratic Socialists of America) has tried to destroy Walmart. It appears a mole social media person has made a big hit. Walmart has made a better, happier life possible for millions... and no, what they sell is less from China than most other retailers. We are making it through the China Virus pandemic much to the credit of Walmart's great logistics and dedicated workers. I'm sorry they (and we) are being forced to wear masks.

But in an apparent China-controlled judiciary, will an anti-trust law suit make any difference?

Where does most of the items Walmart sells comes from these days? I see a lot of made in China items in their store. So they have a big dog in this fight because it will cut big time into their profits if Trump stays in office.

Walmart, you have a long list of needed apologies. You should make yourself reachable to receive the list of grievances, instead of hiding behind your walls of protection. One example is that I complained to your ethics officer about fraudulent offers on every receipt you give your customers, and he responded with what I should do. You would think that would be his job. I was not exactly inspired when your CEO said he was no longer a capitalist. Maybe you should usher him on out the door. Last time I was at your store, they had converted to all self checkout. That hardly works for the elderly with a full basket, that are exhausted from walking from the food area to the other side of the store for a light bulb. I cannot breath in the masks you require, and have to continually stop and lean on the shelves to gasp for air, and there are no places to sit down. You say you clean at night. Maybe you should also stock at night, because people cannot get down the aisles. If you really clean at night, what are those robots coming at me during the day? Formerly, employees checked you out, now they stand in groups behind the self checkouts chatting, occasionally ordering your customers around. I would rather they dropped their personal business, and checked me out. I was a little astounded to learn your pharmacy is closed everyday 12 to 2. Is this for muslim prayer, or what? The support of BLM should require you to wear sack cloth for the rest of your lives. Supporting communist rioting and burning is unforgivable. This is not Sam Walton's store any longer.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with them in Texarkana, only game in town, on both sides of the state line. Would dearly love a Kroger, HEB or Winn Dixie. People would flock to it as a relief.

Walmart went into the sewer when its founder passed away. His progeny is pretty much worthless. I really think the issue of why do they make their money off of slave/child labor needs to be addressed. I wonder if the progeny ever thinks about how their bank accounts get filled up?
