All it takes is one from the House and one from the Senate to shut down the Electoral College count, to open debate on the question of fraud and irregularities in the election in the contested states. When Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) said that he would join Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) and about ten other House members, they had enough to open the discussion and call for a vote on the question. As we reported, Democrats flipped out and attacked Hawley. Since then, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-MA) even said Hawley’s actions “bordered on sedition and treason.” But they of course were being hypocritical,

On Tuesday morning, Fox News viewers got to see that, for the first time, President Donald Trump has come in first place in Gallup's annual poll of "most admired man" of the year. But in contrast with how journalists swooned over former President Barack Obama the last time he came in first place, the other networks have so far ignored the finding. On Tuesday's Fox & Friends, news reader Jillian Mele informed viewers that Trump had pulled ahead of Obama for the first time, and that, in spite of winning the presidential election, President-elect Joe Biden still comes in behind Obama.

Cortney wrote about the lawsuit Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) filed this week against Vice President Mike Pence over the 2020 election. It basically would have granted the vice president the power to pick the electors by overturning the 1877 Electoral Count Act. There was a lot of funny business during the 2020 election. The legal front on this battle is over, however. It’s now up to what happens on the Hill on January 6. As we speak, Mike Pence has moved to dismiss Gohmert’s lawsuit, saying he’s not the proper defendant in the proceedings (via the Hill):

Vice President Mike Pence asked a federal judge on Thursday to reject an effort to give him “exclusive authority” to decide which Electoral College votes should be counted during the upcoming joint session of Congress.
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and other Republicans last week filed a lawsuit against Pence, requesting that the court grant Pence power to decide which votes to count on Jan. 6, 2021, when lawmakers will gather to observe the formal certification of states’ electoral votes for the president of the United States.
Pence argued that he was not the correct defendant to the lawsuit, reported The Hill.

The federal judge who on Monday blocked two Georgia counties from removing voters from voter rolls eased her order just before midnight Wednesday.
District Court Judge Leslie Abrams Gardner, an Obama appointee, ruled that Ben Hill County still cannot remove any voters from voter rolls but said the Muscogee County Board of Elections and Registration can remove voters if they do not rely solely on the U.S. Postal Service’s National Change of Address system.
The board must allow voters whose eligibility has been challenged to cast a provisional ballot in the Jan. 5, 2021, runoff elections. They also must advise the voter of specific evidence of ineligibility by phone and in writing

Seattle—Data from the Washington state Department of Health shows only a fraction of the more than 356,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine delivered here have been used. During a briefing Wednesday, health officials said less than 20% of the distribution—59,491 doses—had been administered as of Wednesday morning. Health officials blamed some of the delays on the holidays, as the Moderna vaccine arrived in the state on Christmas Eve.
Other states across the country are showing similar trends. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show more than 12 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been distributed to states, but so far less

New York has administered less than a third of the coronavirus vaccine doses it has on hand so far—even as Mayor de Blasio boldly claimed Thursday he’d have a million city residents inoculated within a month. Around 630,000 vaccine doses have been sent to the Empire State, but just 203,000 doses had actually made their way into New Yorkers’ arms as of Wednesday, state data shows. The figure, around 32 percent, is slightly higher than the national rate, with around 22.5 percent of the 12.4 million doses distributed being administered as of Wednesday, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

A federal judge has agreed to allow a Georgia county to require that certain voters cast provisional ballots, just days before two runoff elections in the state that will decide control of the U.S. Senate.
More than 4,000 voters faced eligibility challenges ahead of the Jan. 5 runoffs based on unverified postal change-of-address records. The new injunction from U.S. District Court Judge Leslie Abrams Gardner, issued just before midnight on Wednesday, replaces an earlier restraining order she had issued that prevented Muscogee County from forcing those voters to cast provisional ballots at all. In a speech to the Federalist Society in November, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito reiterated his concern that ‘in certain quarters, religious liberty is fast becoming a disfavored right’. Small wonder that the subject was on his mind. A week earlier, the Court had heard oral arguments in the latest religious-liberty case, Fulton v. City of Philadelphia. In it, Catholic Social Services — one of some 30 agencies used by the city to place foster children in private homes — claimed religious exemption for its policy of placing kids in traditional mom-and-dad family settings.
So far, one might think, so unremarkable: a Catholic agency conforms its good works to Catholic principles.

Nearly all would agree that 2020 has been a miserable year. A major reason for that misery, apart from the Chinese COVID-19 pandemic, was the utter failure of the American media. In 2015 and 2016 candidate Donald J Trump was able to break through the controls of the Republican party apparatus by gathering overwhelming grassroots support and then not backing down from the internal fight with the elites. The Trump movement is based on a non-special interest, color-blind and large coalition of middle-class workers and American patriots who want to see the best interests of our nation supersede all other issues.
Despite a similar populist style, albeit clouded with larger government intervention, what Donald Trump did with the RNC candidate Bernie Sanders refused to do with the DNC.

A group of genes passed down from human cousins who went extinct 50,000 years ago explains why inhabitants of certain regions of the world are far more susceptible to COVID-19 than people living elsewhere, according to new interdisciplinary research.
Two distinct phenomena—the migration of homo sapiens from east Africa to the north and east between 70,000 and 100,000 years ago and the spread of the novel coronavirus in the opposite direction over the past year—are connected, concludes Duke University scholar Adrian Bejan in his paper, “Coronavirus Invasion and Neanderthal Retreat.”

LOS ANGELES -The leading U.S. infectious disease specialist, Dr. Anthony Fauci, said on Wednesday he foresees America achieving enough collective COVID-19 immunity through vaccinations to regain "some semblance of normality" by autumn 2021, despite early setbacks in the vaccine rollout. Fauci made his remarks during an online discussion of the pandemic with California Governor Gavin Newsom, who announced at the outset that a more infectious coronavirus variant originally found in Britain has been detected in his state, a day after the first known U.S. case was documented in Colorado. Newsom said the coronavirus variant B.1.1.7 had been confirmed earlier in

This year has been dominated by the pain and suffering thrust upon the globe by the criminal acts of the Chinese Communist Party. Even amid these harsh challenges, President Trump persevered to reach historic achievements. Therefore, as the year draws to its conclusion, it is worth detailing his 2020 accomplishments, as I have previously catalogued for each of the last three years. (snip) At home and abroad, President Trump proved that there is, indeed, method to his madness. Though his unorthodox and sometimes frenetic approach confounds his critics, Trump’s disruptive leadership remained highly effective in 2020,

On Wednesday, a man who was named “National Teacher of the Year” in 2019 by the Council of Chief State School Officers tweeted that the neighbors of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell should act like a “true Kentucky hero” the way that the neighbor of Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) violently attacked Paul in 2017, leaving him with six broken ribs and necessitating the removal of part of his lung.Rodney Robinson tweeted, “Who are Mitch McConnell’s neighbors? I’m just saying Rand Paul’s neighbor did what a true Kentucky hero should do.

The French writer Jean Raspail died this summer. It was somehow fitting that the man whose dark novel The Camp of the Saints foretold the end of western civilization should pass at a time when everything seemed to be falling apart. As a summary of the state of the world at the time of his death, one could hardly do better than to quote a passage from Raspail’s prophetic book: “Day by day, month by month, doubt by doubt, law and order became fascism; education, constraint; work, alienation; revolution, mere sport; leisure, a privilege of class; marijuana, a harmless weed; family, a stifling hothouse; affluence, oppression; success,

What's gotten into Walmart?
America's biggest corporation, presumably with a reputation to defend, is hiring undisciplined, do-whatever-you-want punks to run its social media operation, or so they claim in what passes for their apology.
The tweet in question was described by Politico here:
Sen. Josh Hawley traded sharp words with Walmart’s corporate Twitter account on Wednesday over his contention of the 2020 election results, prompting the superstore giant to apologize to the Missouri Republican.
After announcing his intention to challenge President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral victory Wednesday, Walmart’s Twitter account responded, “Go ahead. Get your 2 hour debate. #soreloser,” in a since-deleted tweet.

This year, the coronavirus pandemic presented new hurdles for 55.1 million students and their families after 124,000 public and private schools closed nationwide. Despite these unprecedented challenges, policymakers and families responded quickly with innovative solutions, which helped to advance education choice in 2020.
Here are eight examples of education choice wins from this year:
1. Supreme Court Protects Religious Schools’ Rights
The Supreme Court case Espinoza v. Montana Department of Revenue was a victory for private school choice. The court affirmed that states cannot stop religious schools from participating in a state’s school choice program.

Life seldom offers second chances. When opportunity knocks you can either answer the door or sit idly by as opportunity moves on to the next house, never to return. Opportunity is knocking on the doors of elected Republicans today. Will the door be answered? Do Republicans hear the knocking, or are their fingers in their ears, trying hard to not hear anything, reminiscent of Sergeant Schultz of Hogan’s Heroes?
President Trump is the door knocker. He started knocking in June 2015 when he rode down the Trump Tower escalator promising to Make America Great Again. Some in the GOP answered his call and stood firm to support Trump’s agenda

Follow the Science” has become a frequently heard rallying cry from the Left and their media in recent months. An even newer phenomenon is the bumper sticker asking “Got Science?” which is often spotted adorning a Prius or Subaru, between the drivers’ other decals pleading “Feel the Bern” and “Resist.” Anyone paying attention understands that those of us who disagree with our friends on the Left on matters of science tend to do so not based on any aversion to science, but rather the political nature and behavior of individuals within the scientific community. The issue isn’t science at all. The problem is scientists,

The majority of cadets caught cheating on a math test at the West Point military academy are athletes — including two dozen members of the Army football team playing West Virginia in Thursday’s Liberty Bowl. Of the 24 Army Black Knights embroiled in the scandal, 17 remained in uniform as of Wednesday (Snip) West Point spokesman Lt. Col. Christopher Ophardt told USA Today that the decision was not related to the school’s football season.
