Follow the Science” has become a frequently heard rallying cry from the Left and their media in recent months. An even newer phenomenon is the bumper sticker asking “Got Science?” which is often spotted adorning a Prius or Subaru, between the drivers’ other decals pleading “Feel the Bern” and “Resist.” Anyone paying attention understands that those of us who disagree with our friends on the Left on matters of science tend to do so not based on any aversion to science, but rather the political nature and behavior of individuals within the scientific community. The issue isn’t science at all. The problem is scientists,

The lockdowns are a farce and help no one. It harms most the elderly we have disposed of in sanatoriums and schoolchildren that have not been rejected by their families but by their teacher’s unions. These scientists know nothing. They never tested the hypothesis that hydroxychloroquine was a profilactic and a cure for Covid. The Regeneron monoclonal antibodies, which are a complete cure, were given to only 14 patients at UCLA last week, the biggest hospital in the West coast. Like Global Warming, I do not believe anything these scientists say. CDC over counts deaths by a lot, Hydroxychloroquine is the miracle cure and the Chinavirus is a bioweapon spliced together in Wuhan China by the CCP with NIH funding from Fauci in the hopes of making an AIDS vaccine.

Science is like "facts" nowadays. There is no such thing. People pick and chose what they like and simply ignore that which contradicts their preconceived notions. I only trust facts and science that I can verify through my personal observations and experience. Everything else is suspect.

The “Got Science” people today are the ones who ended up majoring in journalism, education or whatever else doesn’t require much in the way of gray matter topside. Back in my day it was usually first semester organic chemistry that got them pointed in that direction.......the closest brush any of them ever had with science.

I majored in biology and took virology. That was a long time ago but I still remember quite a bit of it. Maybe that's why I don't cower in fear at the covid-19. And yet, I am smugly told to believe the science by my co-workers who are all woke as can be majors in some field of the humanities which they all reject as nothing but works of dead white men. I do at times feel like I am in Bizarro world.
One day, I saw a Subaru with pro-life bumperstickers all over it. I'll admit I did a double take and then gave the driver a thumbs up for bravery.

People who say they "believe in science" are engaging in religion. Many of them bring to mind the Puritans of old who would dunk you or put you in the stocks for disagreeing with THEIR religion.
Science is a way of studying the world. While I think the process can work, I do not ever "believe in" the results.

Why do some of you equate Prius and Subaru owners as leftists? Did it ever occur to you that we don't like paying outrageous prices for gas, and having to get rid of our car every two-three years because it is nearing the end of ts useful life? I believe I'm as patriotic and on the right as any of you, yet I drive a Prius. A matter of economics, or if you prefer, science. Is it because it makes you feel somehow superior because you drive a Ford or GM product? It doesn't.

To the left, science is just another political tool to be touted when useful, and downplayed when not useful. Climate Change is the classic perversion of science, and Fauci is another. He makes it up as he goes along; to fit with whatever issue he's pushing at the moment (besides himself.)
And no, all the "scientists" don't accept the Climate Change narrative, but I'll bet an overwhelming number of journalists (the ultimate non-scientists) do!

People who rant about following the science believe that man made globull warming is real but that human chromosomes are “fluid”. That one statement tells you all you need to know about their “science”.
#6, I kept my last car for 7 years, only trading it in for a newer model of the same car because my extended warranty was running out. It gets 37 mpg. We once kept a car for 17 years and my sister’s Honda is currently 13 years old and still running well. With proper maintenance any car will last far longer than 2-3 years.

Once upon a time the greatest scientists were the best practitioners of the scientific method, which is rooted in empiricism and fashioned and refined by centuries of Western philosophy. It restricts science to investigations with limited variables and repeatable trials. The measures taken by authorities in the name of science are not scientific because there are too many variables - factors that cannot be accounted for, such as differences in behavior within populations and changes in environmental conditions. So, lockdowns may seem to work - and then they don't. Wearing masks may seem to work - and then it doesn't. They haven't figured out that they haven't figured it out.
Climate change is the same boat. There are way too many variables. Science is simply incapable of assessing it.

"The Science" when it comes to Covid-19 is anything but. True science is a search to discover what the facts are, not a fantasy to promote or justify an agenda.

The main problem is that many scientists are employed by either the government or academia so there is an agenda that prevents using the scientific method over the political method.

"Science" is not the independent search for knowledge anymore. Even the kid in his university lab is sponsored by some entity looking for an "answer". Billions are involved in "research", and the science had better support the sponsor's needs, or the money flow ends. You can hire a "scientist" to "prove" anything.
The one science that is out of favor these days is statistics.

Crunch the numbers with computer models. Follow the science. Fact-check. All phrases invented by liars, greedy beyond imagination. Like the grass, they shall soon pass away. The sun just broke through the clouds here. Maybe that is a sign.

The reason DC's scientists are not supporting hydroychloroquine is because it is very cheap and has been tested for seventy years on patients...my doctor is not allowed to prescribe it by mandate from our ignorant governor... next step is the black market in Canada... I'll pretend I have malaria.. then maybe I can get the drug.... WE seniors are not getting the vaccine till next year because Washington DC has to get the vaccine first... then the jail inmates ... and... then maybe seniors here in Illinois...whining about it doesn't help...being proactive is the ticket...

My two Subaru's, ages 15 and two years old, both run great. Why the animus toward them? I’m as conservative as possible, in a peaceful way, but would never put a political sticker on my car, because keying is a favorite pastime for liberal nuts. I agree that the past ridicule for Volvos was warranted, having owned one in the past.

True "science" stands by itself --- unknown & unadorned. It is the people who look at it and then try to interpret it to their own ends that screw things up. When the politics of power & manipulation enter the picture, then scientists become tools to an end that is often not very good!
It was the so-called scientists who started out claiming the world was flat, justified the earth was the center of the universe, claimed man had various "humors" in his body, certain ethnic groups carried diseases, etc. because that is what the powerful (kings & even the Pope) wanted from them and then the powerful used their advice to control people. It still goes on.
The "man-made global warming" crowd is strongly embracing the China Flu lock-downs and mask wearing as it helps them achieve their goals of total control with less driving of cars and closing of factories.

People not crippled by attention deficit disorder will probably have noticed by now how 'scientists' report an urgent crisis, shortly before revealing that the 'fix' is somehow the very same crapola that the Leftist politicians have been promoting, often on the basis of some other contrived crisis.
The problem frequently shifts; but the solution stays the same... More Socialism, less freedom.

The good thing is that the seasonal flu has disappeared and now it is Chinavirus all the time. If you want to know how the Chinese Communist Party created this virus, DuckDuckGo “Unusual features of the SARS-CoV-2 genome suggesting laboratory modification rather than natural evolution”. In short, the Chinavirus was made by splicing fragments of DNA of the spike protein into specific restriction enzyme sites, called EcoR1 and BstEII. These are sites commonly used for genetic engineering.

There is a lot of good "established science" on the structure of viruses, etc. which has been exploited to produce the vaccines. There is as yet no "established science" regarding the structure and evolution of this pandemic. There are only the opinions and guesses of various scientists, which vary widely and employ the results of dubious mathematical models with "wild guess" inputs and structure. In a few years, these will probably coalesce into a consensus, which will be generally accepted. I would guess that will be about five years from now. Then in another five years or so, I expect, more refined studies will find exceptions and corrections to that generally accepted consensus. That is how "science" actually works—even physics, although its time-frame is longer. Medical "science" has a noticeably shorter time-frame.

About the vaccines. Moderna and Pfizer are messenger RNA vaccines. Because mRNA forms hairpin structures that give viral infection symptoms, one of the 4 components has been substituted with pseudo-Uridine. It avoids the anti-viral response and is made into protein in muscle cells and secreted. We naturally have small amounts of pseudo-Uridine in our body. The body makes anti-pseudo-Uridine antibodies as well, and the vaccine will probably be good for the very first immunization only. We do not know about long term autoimmune effects because mRNA vaccines have never ever been used before. This time it is human Medical Experimentation for all. The AstraSeneca and Sanofi vaccines are recombinant adenoviruses so they will also be good for the one round.
15% of all common colds are caused by 4 strains of coronavirus in humans. Immunity to the common cold does not last long, since it is always with us in winter. Probably these innocuous colds protect many from Chinavirus.
Corollary: let the infection spread naturally especially among the children and vaccinate the elderly. Perhaps you do not know that in 50% of the annual flu vaccinations are without any immune effect whatsoever in old people because their immune system is too weak to respond.
Zinc, Vitamins C and D are the best profilactic and, if you can get it, add Hydroxychloroquine two 200 mg pills on the same day every two weeks. Our best hope are the Regeneron Monoclonal antibodies. If you got it it is a cure, if you do not have it will give you protective antibodies for four months, which covers the entire winter of this seasonal virus. Monoclonal antibodies have been tested in humans for many years an are innocuous. For the vaccines, we will have to wait and see what time tells.

God gave us a brain and a curiosity to search and explore His creation. There is always more of His creation to be explored. What an adventure life is! ...''Science,'' is what we named the exploration of God's creation. We are blessed.

I know science. I kept a 1992 Honda Civic running for 22 years. I had to replace the engine at 265,000 miles, then I put another 100k on the second engine. Finally had to junk the car when the door handles and window linkages started to break all at the same time. What a great car. On my commutes from my workplace, Henderson Mine in central Colorado to my west Denver residence (50 miles of mountain driving), I only used 1 gallon of gas on average. Not bad for a Honda. Aside from my 2007 Dodge truck 2500 TD Diesel, we drove a 2000 Chevy Malibu for a good while, but, finally replaced it with a 2013 Honda CRV. So far so good! Take care of your car, and it takes care of you.
