San Francisco—Now that coronavirus vaccines are starting to roll out in the US and abroad, many people may be dreaming of the day when they can travel, shop and go to the movies again. But in order to do those activities, you may eventually need something in addition to the vaccine: a vaccine passport application. Several companies and technology groups have begun developing smartphone apps or systems for individuals to upload details of their Covid-19 tests and vaccinations, creating digital credentials that could be shown in order to enter concert venues, stadiums, movie theaters, offices, or even countries.(Snip)Large tech firms are also

I love to Cruise. If I need a Vaccine Passport to get back on those Ships, I will happily do so. It will also give everyone on the Ship a bit of confidence that those on Board are not infected with Covid! Even if we didn't like Cruising, Hubby and I would gladly get the Vaccine for our own Health (at 79 I need all the help I can get) and also to get our Life back! It's going to be "expected" in most social Circles (at least I would expect it before going to a gathering!

So those under 60 and healthy will be the last to get the vaccine and the last to travel. So the majority students, high tech people, employed people. etc. will not be able to travel for at least for a year. But all government employees will.

Pretty extreme for an epidemic that isn't exactly the Black Plague. If you're under 60 years old, aren't obese, and don't have any co-morbidities, this virus is of minimal danger to you. So these extreme measures are ridiculous. Why incarcerate in effect the entire country, destroy our economy, and make life a living hell? Furthermore, it sets up control measures that could become even more oppressive down the road. These "passport" procedures could be used for controls beyond pandemics, such as for "citizen scores" (i.e., measures that grade you on your compliance with leftist ideology). Don't believe it can happen here? Silly sheep.

"The internal passport system, previously denounced by Vladimir Lenin as one of the worst stigmas of tsarist backwardness and despotism, was reinstated in the Soviet Union by Joseph Stalin." Encyclopedia Britannica. Of course our Fascists want to instate internal passports. The ChiComs have them and our American Fascists want them too. It's the most efficient way to control their subjects. It will start out as Covid-related, but soon metasticize into a full-blown badge of ideological purity. #13, correct you are. "Citizen scores" will be sold as just common sense safety for the general good. To have a high score, you need to have been vaccinated, and satisfied the authorities that you are not a terrorist thread. Wouldn't you like to be sure that the person next to you on an airplane does not have Covid and is not a terrorist? Of course you would. This all began with Bush's Patriot Act, when frightened Americans agreed that the government could read our email, listen in on phone conversations, and so on-- to protect us! For our safety! Once the government knows you will trade your freedom for security, it will find all sorts of ways to offer you more and more "security."

What's the big deal ? As a retired ship's captain I have carried a yellow book (vaccinations for yellow fever etc) all my life. Even returning from Africa or Asia I had to show it with my passport just to go home. This only becomes an issue if you have to show your yellow book at the grocery store. At that point I grow my own food. Where did all the SANE people go ?

'Internal Passports.' What many people do not know is that while the USSR did indeed have these Internal Passports, they did not issue them to a large percentage of the populace. And, since one could not travel between states and even counties without this Passport, most of the 'citizens' could not move around within the country. This, along with the constant rationing of food, controlled the populace. Leftist Liberal Creepozoids like Chuck You Schumer, Pelousy, are salivating at the prospect of such a system. Since Google has already created a social point system for the Chicoms, instituting it here would be easy. In the USSR, if one dared to state anything other than the prescribed propaganda, one could not only lose the Passport, one would lose the ability to to attend any kind of higher education. Your Ration card would be reduced, or eliminated. From then on your very access to food depended on the kindness of others. And, anyone now 'helping' you with food was now also suspect. Just read 'To Build a Castle' by Vladimir Bukovsky.
