Robbers in Cleveland stole an Amazon truck marking the fifth time in recent weeks that the online retail giant’s trucks were the target of a hijacking in the Cleveland area.
The latest incident happened about 4 p.m. Wednesday on Triskett Road near Edolyn Avenue in the city’s Westpark neighborhood, according to a report from Cleveland police.
A delivery driver told police that he jumped out of the truck and left it running to drop off packages at an apartment building. He turned around and saw someone driving his truck out of the parking lot, followed by a white SUV with an unknown number of people sitting inside it.

How has Bezos' Wapo been treating crime by the underprivileged and defunding the police? Maybe his chickens are coming home to roost

If this keeps up, Amazon will have to resort to deploying plain, white trucks without the characteristic icon.

Why be a porch pirate when you can just steal the whole truck? In most liberal cities this is only a minor crime anyways.

Do you really think big corporations eat their loses #2? Everyone pays. Just like insurance loses, every customer pays a bit more. For the average American family, the additional cost amount to several hundred dollars a year.

Pet peeve: it wasn't "robbers" who stole the truck, it was thieves. Robbery is taking property from a person by force or threat of force. This was theft, not robbery. Just like people who break into your house when you're not around are burglars, not robbers.

Come on, man! This is just the first step in the Liberal Reparations & Redistribution Plan. Amazon has, what, 100 GAZILLION dollars. Most anyone else is 'poor' compared to Bezos, so.... It is not only justified; it is necessary. What with all the new 'laws' being passed in places like Seattle, this 'taking' will not even be classified as a crime. Redistribution at its finest. In fact, anyone complaining or filing a claim for loss should they themselves be tried and convicted of gluttony. The poor (and remember, with Amazon, everyone else on the planet is poorer than Bezos) need those Amazon vehicles to get to and from work, even if their work is Redistribution of Amazon trucks. There could be some young, enlightened college student, right now, developing his thesis justifying these 'takings' as part of the natural order of the universe. From each {Amazon Truck) according to its size, to each according to their 'need.' The author of this new way will be lauded in all the leftist creepozoid halls of academics.

Back in the 1960s, (or 1970s) when the Hunt Brothers tried to corner the market on Silver, and drove the price to 51 dollars an ounce, producers of xray film, which used silver emulsion or something, hired armed guards on board trucks, plus guards in escort cars.
Amazon might do the same.

I don't shop at Amazon so I don't have 'skin in the game'. I'm not into their annual fee to receive free shipping therefore if I would shop there their shipping is very expensive. My wife purchased a small percolator coffee pot for camping it was shipped in an enormous oversize box with shipping cost more the pot cost. I have no sympathy for stupid Amazon nor do I care.

Well what do you expect these "teens" to do when all of their Walmarts and Targets have been looted and burned out? At least you know that if an Amazon truck is filled with books it will be returned.

One of my jobs while in the Navy was to drop off supplies to various departments at a Naval Shipyard. I never left the keys in the ignition and the van running. And that was in a secure military facility. What do the drivers think would happen when you do that with a van full of packages.
