President-elect Joe Biden has chosen Pete Buttigieg, his former rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, to lead the U.S. Transportation Department, according to two people familiar with the matter. Buttigieg, 38, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, who has never held federal office, would be the first LGBTQ person nominated to Biden's administration and, if confirmed, the first LGBTQ Cabinet secretary to be approved by the U.S. Senate. A spokesman for Biden's transition team did not immediately respond to a request for comment.(Snip) As Transportation secretary, he would put to use his background in urban affairs by overseeing a sprawling

Until the late 1970s homosexuality was classified as a mental illness. However as a responce to homosexual shouting and activism (not medicine, nid ou) the classification was removed. Thus, using the previously valid medical term, we will ave a cabinet memberwho is psychotic.

#10, that's not correct. Having a mental disorder doesn't make someone psychotic. For example, there are people who have personality disorders (which used to be referred to as character disorders). Hitler was one of them, as he was more than likely a malignant narcissist or a psychopath. But he wasn't psychotic, unless his mind at times was altered by drug use. However, bad people can become paranoid because they do bad things to people, and are therefore, watching their backs. But you are correct that homosexuality was classified (until around 1973) as a behavioral disorder until an APA meeting was stormed by a group of homosexual activists who coerced the APA into removing homosexual behavior from the DSM.

I know Jill Biden likes to be addressed as "Doctor." What is the proper form of address for "most senior gay official confirmed by the Senate"? I don't want to be mistakenly irreverent about his gay achievement. I assume the adjective "most" modifies "senior" and not "gay". Pete was never that swish; can't imagine him getting recognized as "most gay," can you? How do you think Reuters knows there has never been a gay Cabinet Secretary before Pete Buttigieg in the 250 or so years of American history? Is there a database of civil servants sexuality somewhere? Was that part of that Patriot Act funding?

You can tell someone is smarting from an inferiority complex when he insists on being addressed as “Dr.” on the basis of holding an academic doctorate rather than being a physician. Ph.D. holders who have genuine accomplishments don’t make you call them “Doctor,” which is why you never hear about “Dr. Paul Krugman” and “Dr. George Will.” None of the professors I knew at Yale, even the ones who were eminent in their fields, insisted on the title, and I think most of them would have scoffed if someone had addressed them as “Dr.” The only reason

"I’m going to be with my wife – period," Fauci told the outlet on Monday. "The Christmas holiday is a special holiday for us because Christmas Eve is my birthday,"

Former President Barack Obama said Tuesday on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” that the Republican Party is “the minority party in this country.”Obama said, “In fact, the Republican Party is the minority party in this country. The only reason they it doesn’t look like the majority party is because of structures like the U.S. Senate and the Electoral College that don’t render them the majority party. So they have certain built-in advantages around power given their population distribution and how our government works. But the truth of the matter is that 60 percent of the people are occupying what I would consider a more reality-based universe,

Mike Rowe, known for hosting shows like “Dirty Jobs” and “Somebody’s Gotta Do It,” lambasted the Democrat-led push to forgive student loans to college grads, which would add “hundreds of billions” in federal debt.“Lots of people on this page have asked me to comment on the various proposals to forgive hundreds of billions of dollars in student debt,” he wrote on his Facebook page.“Many it seems, suspect that I’ll be supportive of these efforts, since I’ve written at length about the outrageous rise of college tuition, and the scandalous ways in which hundreds of thousands of students have been conned into borrowing ridiculous sums of money to purchase degrees that

Hunter Biden in a statement released last week by the transition organization for Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris acknowledged that the U.S. Attorney's Office in Delaware is "investigating my tax affairs." He said that he takes "this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors."
