William Barr has announced that he is resigning as Attorney General. His last day in office will be December 23.
You can read Barr’s letter of resignation here. It begins with this pregnant sentence:
I appreciate the opportunity to update you this afternoon on the Department’s review of voter fraud allegations in the 2020 election and how these allegations will continue to be pursued.
Trump’s legal team suggested that the Justice Department hasn’t properly investigated or pursued voter fraud allegations. Trump himself said he would know in a few weeks

Barr, you're fired should have been said a long time ago. President Trump is a nice man; I guess if he likes you, he likes you.

The man had an opportunity to expose the multiple wrongs of the Ovomit DOJ, and restore an expectation of integrity. Instead, he allowed the subordinate deep-staters to wreck his legacy. He could've been a hero of the nation. Instead, he walks into the sunset of his life a dismal failure.

Barr, on your way out perhaps we can get to see the Durham report??? You know the one that useless piece of trash has been working on for about 600 days??? Oh, that joker expanded the 'investigation'?? I guess by the time we are all dead and gone he might be finished?? Why don't you recall this insufferable fool and spare the taxpayers a dime?!?!?! His incompetence smells worse than Hitlery's unwashed person!
BTW, thanks for giving us Rosen. He is a Barr hire! Let's not expect anything better than Sessions, Rosenschwein, or Barr himself!

He accomplished his mission. He covered up the crimes of his deep state buddies and made his owners happy. Now its time to move on.

The denigrators need to read Barr's letter. He had a "female dog" of a job, and after reading the letter, I have more respect for him.

Benedict Barr was either blackmailed, threatened or paid off. Hopefully we'll one day learn the truth.

#7, if he truly felt that way he would have done something to help him and the American People.
I would love to have given him some credit, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt for way too long. I suspect we all did, including President Trump! Good riddance to bad rubbish!

He wouldn't comment on the Hunter Biden case, but he would comment on the "progress" of the voter fraud investigations BEFORE they were completed.
He sat on (not a nice image) on the crooked Bidens information. As voters, relevant information really ought to have been exposed for the voters to evaluate: our most important civic function.

I am not convinced that Rudy G. was the best person to be leading the President's legal team. Yes, he is America's neighbor, but he is also old and has been distracted at times by personal pursuits. Just a thought...

Few of we no account folks could understand the influences and pressures exerted on those with tremendous power, like Barr, or President Trump, and a small portion of those elected to our congress or judge ships. I suspect that a minority of these understand that this great power will not give them everlasting power, resources or fame. More are doing what they do for short term benefits, be it money , sex, notoriety or other. They will not live longer, be more healthy or happy. And damn them for being false to those who chose them as representatives. A relative few, example Sarah Sanders, are worthy of our highest admiration.

I read AG Barr's resignation letter. It doesn't sound like a resignation letter at all. I don't get it.

There is no doubt in my mind that this man did what he thought was the most honorable thing to do, by refusing to politicize the Attorney General position. There is no way he is 'deep state'! He is his own man in every way.
Most likely, he hated the position he was put in by the Biden developments, but perhaps was realistically hoping/anticipating that Trump would win the election....in which case, no harm-no foul.
I like to think that the sheer scope and complexity of Durham's investigation, combined with the COVID-impacted grand-jury situation and additional, ever-changing developments, have been responsible for the long timeline there. It must be unimaginably frustrating for all involved.

I wonder what Trump's term might have been like had either of his Attorneys General gone after the Swamp in a major way.

#15, I, too, read the letter and am as puzzled as you are. Anyone who has read my comments knows that I am no fan of Barr’s actions especially his announcement of no evidence of voter fraud by the democrats. The letter and that statement does not gel because it appears that two different people are speaking. What in the world is he up to? If he sincerely believes what was written in the letter, he has made himself an enemy of the left. If he believes as he stated previously that there is no evidence of voter fraud then Trump supporters revile him for making that statement when we all can see the massive fraud. With that statement he poured cold water on the credibility of the accusation of voter fraud. Why would he come out with that statement at that time? Clearly fraud was being exposed on an unprecedented scale that we had not seen before. I am flummoxed, but I have to go with knowing that actions speak louder than words. His decision to act on the opinion that there was no fraud must prevail. Although everything stated in the letter is commendable, he seriously damaged the President’s case with his comment regarding no evidence of voter fraud. He provided a talking point for the democrat party and when he could have remained silent or expressed his concern because of the evidence being exposed, he chose to harm the President’s case.
Furthermore, Barr failed the entire country when he said nothing about the Biden investigation when he had time to do it before the election, allowed Wray to hide evidence and ignored his failure to clean up the FBI, and permitted Durham way too much time to investigate Obama’s cabal. Time was of the essence and Barr acted like he had all the time in the world. A little pressure on the democrats may have made a difference. They believed Barr was no threat to their criminal behavior which gave them the sense of security they needed to put into place their most outrageous plan to steal the election. Therefore, I remain anti-Barr regardless of the letter he penned. He failed to act when it could have made a difference. Now the future of this country looks bleak and all those gains Barr listed in his resignation letter will be erased by a man who is unfit for office. A patriot would have stood up and acted. He chose not to and here we are about to enter a place of darkness, misery and despair. Barr allowed evil to prosper because he did nothing.

I really liked Bill Barr. This is very sad and I really don't know what happened. He had a very good reputation. What really bother me the most is when he did not investigate the election fraud. It is right in your face fraud.

I am disappointed that so many Lucianne readers are falling for the MSM Barr. Barr is a good man and did his best in an impossible place. Please read his resignation letter to the President, wherein he praises Trump without qualification, before you continue to trash him.

Barr did only slightly better than Sessions, and that's not saying much. Both of them were "good guys." Trump has been extremely patient with him and good to him. Barr failed and President Trump didn't completely put him to the open shame he probably deserves; he let him "retire"; let's move on.

#22, regarding Barr's reputation: he was a key player in one of the most horrific examples of governmental brutality, Ruby Ridge. Randy Weaver was entrapped by undercover FBI into cutting down a shotgun barrel below minimum legal length. FBI invaded their property and shot dead Weaver's 14 year old son and his dog as they tried to run home. Then Mrs. Weaver was murdered by an FBI sniper while standing in a doorway and holding their baby. Barr was a key player in the whole thing. As Weaver's trial loomed, Barr started a defence fund for the FBI sniper who murdered Mrs. Weaver in cold blood.
Barr is and always was a Swamp rat.

Actually, no where in Barr’s letter did he use the word resign. Trump did not use the word resign.
He was fired, but that isn’t being publicized for some reason.

Good riddance to another Bush establishment worthlessness. Thus far no one has been capable of putting a dent in the corrupt Obama KGB-Gestapo. Trump got stuck with 2 cowards. A George S. Patton is needed to hold them by their noses and kick them in the ass - right out the window at the top of the Empire State Building . Splat goes DOJ FBI CIA NSA ATF IRS.

Unfortunately it remains to be seen what important and legitimate objectives that William Barr accomplished as the Trump Administration Attorney General. I guess time will tell!
