The Justice Department is changing its execution protocols, so that federal executions are no longer required to be done by lethal injection only.
The amended rule, as reported by the AP, allows the government to use lethal injection or “any other manner prescribed by the law of the state in which the sentence was imposed.” The rule was published in the Federal Register on Friday.
Those other manners include “electrocution, inhaling nitrogen gas or death by firing squad.” The amended rule goes into effect on Dec. 24 and comes as the DOJ has scheduled five executions during this lame-duck period.

Tripping the light fantastic and dancing the hempen jig is suitable for a few worthies like KSM or Mumia Abu-Jamal. Hanging would have worked well for Bundy, too, but the State of Florida buzzed him and blew out his fuse before the Ropeman got the chance to break his freaking neck.

Hanging was also suitable for Saddam, who said just before taking his plunge into the unknown, "I am Saddam Hussein, the president of Iraq. I am Saddan Hussein, the president of Iraq! I am Saddam Hussein, the president of GACK!!"

They should use nitrogen gas execution.
A coworker once crawled up onto a large turbine unit to inspect it just after delivery.
He removed a cover and crawled into it with a flashlight.
A minute later, he failed to respond to several questions from a colleague outside, who pulled him out into fresh air by his feet.
He revived in the air.
The turbine was filled with dry nitrogen gas for shipping to prevent corrosion.
Ge felt nothing at all, zero distress, just passed out.
If he hadn't been pulled out, he would have expired in a few minutes.
Perfect for execution, painless and not toxic to workers. Vent the room with a fan for a few minutes, to open air, and it is perfectly safe.
Cheap, safe, painless.

I don't know, I was hoping the "water-slide into the wood chipper" method would be considered. It's wet, it's wild!

OK let's see how many pick a fat bag of Columbian coke and a gallon of Jack Daniels with a 30-minute time limit for consumption.

Utah used to offer the condemned a choice between hanging and the firing squad.
Not one chose hanging.

Guillotine, Guillotine! It was invented to be quick and humane. Except for being dead, that is.

Would love to see hitlery, biden, kerry and many others convicted of criminal corruption and treason, and executed by firing squad. They could televise it and many Americans might have their faith in our justice system restored.

Weren't the firing squad and the electric chair considered cruel and harsh punishment for execution years ago? That is why they were gotten rid of in the first place. Gonna be interesting to see which states start up either of these methods again.

If Harris and Biden make it into the White House, they will be happy to see "infidels" like us executed by these additional means. Don't be so quick to celebrate, folks.

The ''executee'' is usually given a choice of electricity or lethal injection. Some who are on appeal (can take decades) choose electricity since they know states do not prefer it and it isn't as sure a method like lethal injection usually is.

May I suggest bringing the noose back? A $2.98 piece of rope from True Value and you got yourself a hangin. For more deserving felons, a one mile swim off the coast of South Africa. Whatever is left of your body then goes free.

I like your way of thinking, #11. They could put Hillary out there at the 1,000 yard mark and the target would still be so big that it wouldn't take a Chris Kyle to hit it.
