Fox News continues
to alienate its viewers

Fox News continues to insult its audience. This time, the insults came from Kristin Fisher, who was speaking from either ignorance or malice when she attacked Rudy Giuliani after Trump’s legal team gave a press conference. (snip) The conference was essentially a preview of coming attractions. In a trial, first you tell your story, then you prove your story, and then you summarize your story. The legal team is at Phase One. That didn’t stop Kristin Fisher from proving that she’s a lousy listener and is staggeringly ignorant about how the American legal system works.

In the daytime (on the west coast) Harris Faulkner’s Overtime program is the only one we watch even a bit of. She seems to be a really decent woman - raised in a military family, married to a man who is white - who maintains balance even though she is saddled with Fox’s dopey Power Panels that always include a rabid lefty. Other persons we even liked at times, like Bill Hemmer, have now become unwatchable. They are clearly programmed with a strong “or else!” included. Tucker even went madly off the reservation last night. We turned him off. We are watching old movies from TCM. Brit crime dramas. Can’t even watch local news anymore.

Geraldo said the same thing on Kilmeade's radio show this morning. Basically, forget about it, take the loss, let the cheaters get off.. But I think you actually present the evidence in court, not before a national audience. I'm surprised Rivera didn't know that. Fisher's not an attorney, so I think she was just repeating what she hears, probably from Fox management.

I very much miss the "original" FOX, but am deeply into my 100% boycott, including their articles and any video they put on youtube. I do, however, indulge in reading about their travails in the ratings wars. Used to schedule my evening around being there at 8pm promptly to see Tucker, and probably missed that the most. But, from what I read of last night's recap, I can easily wave bye-bye as he disappears in my rearview mirror. And now it looks like the precious, tiny, adorable, nun-like, excruciatingly fair (just ask her), virginal Dana is casting off whatever restraints she wore after her Jeb got deep-sixed. Anyone have a take on what's going on with Gutfeld and Jesse? Not asking for a friend....asking for myself. ;)

I think a lot of people are ignorant about eye-witness testimony. And Rudy Giuliani stressed this in the briefing. A signed affidavit is direct evidence. In the age of everyone having a camera in their pocket, perhaps many think someone's word counts as nothing in a court. But people have gone to jail for life or even been executed based solely on eye-witness testimony. And according to Giuliani, they have *hundreds* of signed affidavits.

I keep seeing comments about Powell supposedly not showing evidence to Tucker. No matter how important he believes himself to be, Tucker is not SCOTUS or one of the state supreme courts. She'll show "evidence in court, but her accusations have been very clear. If she's wrong, Dominion should easily be able to counter them in the same court of public opinion that Powell is being tried in. And Fox without Trump, as being presented today, is called CNN.

Tucker is just the latest to show off his arrogance to his viewers. Conservatives are happily gloating over the fact that Andrew Cuomo is at, or rapidly approaching, his nadir. (snip) Cuomo's pandering has always been coarse, heavy-handed, and insincere. Though he is hardly a closet conservative, and probably genuinely supports these policies, it has always been obvious that Cuomo manipulated leftist identity groups so that they would have no alternative but to vote for him and make him governor-for-life. (Indeed, until only a few weeks ago, Cuomo seemed to be a shoo-in for a fourth term). Eventually, though, it became clear that the leftist identity-politics groups were getting tired of getting the pimp hand from Cuomo

Meghan Markle, it seems, isn't much of a scholar. While much of the focus has been on her barbs accusing the British royal family of abnormal interest in her baby's skin color and denying him a title and personal security protection supposedly because he is black and they are racists, what's striking to me is how unprepared she was for the royal role she sought when she married Prince Harry. Though the populist tide seems to have ebbed, it will rise again, and soon. The problem that ignited populist sentiment in the first place, whether on the left or the right, remains: the country’s economic and financial system has failed much of the population and is rigged to the benefit of a government-business elite. Resistance to this inequity elevated Trump and pulled the Democratic Party to the left and will continue to roil American politics until things change. The economy’s “rigging” has developed gradually over time and often from the best of intentions.

No, conference goers didn't gather to spread conspiracy theories. No, they didn't bow down to a golden statue of Trump. And no, the stage wasn't designed to pay homage to Nazi symbology. Fascism, a form of big government, is hated among conservatives. Outsiders in the mainstream media really piled on the hate. "There will be no policy debates," claimed an MSNBC opinion columnist. That's false. The truth, it seems, was of no value in reporting on this year's Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
