Nearly three-quarters of California counties must now operate under the state’s most stringent pandemic restrictions, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced on Monday, and health officials are considering a statewide curfew as coronavirus cases surge more dramatically than they did during a summer spike.
Indoor dining, gyms and movie theaters, among other businesses, must either remain closed or shut down in 41 of the state's 58 counties. The governor said he is “sounding the alarm” due to “the fastest increase California has seen" since the pandemic began.

Here in Santa Barbara County, we have three people hospitalized due to Covid.
Three.
In a county of almost 450,000 people who are locked down.
Ridiculous.

How long will it be for California to go after pension income from ex Californicates? at least on a pro rata basis...
(About ma decade ago, California went after public employee pensions where the recipient moved out of state.
I could fashion a somewhat rational legal argument that such action should be OK.0
When someone who is wealthy, Rush Limbaugh, for example, moves to Florida from New York State, The NYS department of revenue does a huge, ongoing audit, to confirm that the person is not living in NYS. they look at doctor appointments, dentist appointments, and the like.

ENOUGH about new cases!
The article includes: "Based on prior data tracking, Ghaly said 12% of new COVID-19 cases reported Monday will end up in the health care system within two to three weeks. Looking at the 9,890 new cases reported on Monday, that means 1,186 of those cases are likely to end up in a hospital bed."
California has 341 non-federal, short-term, acute care hospitals with 74,180 beds.* It has many other beds in other classes of hospitals, and non-hospital sites.
California needs to have COVID-19 restrictions based on admissions, narrowly focused on the then spiking geographic areas. Its politically driven, broad-brush impositions are non-scientific, overly-broad, harmful, counter-productive, and unconstitutional.

What he is admitting, he's FAILED to keep people safe, right?
And, same with Los Angeles Mayor Garcetti who's essentially had a near lock down since April.
Despite all of the restrictions, Los Angeles County has maintained a high positive rate, and death toll.
Can't speak for those who were demonstrating, or celebrating Biden because you can't sing in church for fear of spewing the virus through the mask, but it seemed A-Okay to shout and scream at the demonstrations and celebrations.
It would seem they allowed the spread by allowing the demonstrations and celebrations.

Newsom and his Politburo are running California like it is North Korea. Next thing you will see is people arrested for "secret meetings" of more than 10 people, or arrests for non-mask compliance.

The curfew only applies to non-felons, Republicans, SS recipients, nursing home residents. Able-bodied looters , burglars, arsonists and drug dealers are exempt.
