Elizabeth Warren called on President-elect Joe Biden to bypass Congress and cancel billions of dollars in student loan debt, arguing that it could be a powerful economic stimulus tool for families still reeling from the coronavirus pandemic.
"Biden-Harris can cancel billions of dollars in student loan debt, giving tens of millions of Americans an immediate financial boost and helping to close the racial wealth gap," the Massachusetts senator tweeted, referring to both the incoming chief executive and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris. "This is the single most effective executive action available for a massive economic stimulus."

obama federalized the loan program to enrich propagandists hiding as professors in colleges and universities. in so doing, they shafted average students. Tuition cost have gone through the roof. Now she says we need to screw all taxpayers. She is over educated trash.

It may be time for taxpayers to stop filing their taxes. They can't come after all of us.

So what about recent college graduates who had student debt loans to the government, yet secured jobs, and then decided to use their initial earnings to pay off their student loan debt immediately, rather than in installments over the 10-to-20 years the government allows? They may now show no debt, but will Warren's plan reimburse them their student loan payments? If not, her plan punishes the thrifty, responsible kids and rewards to parasites.

Why not get to the root of the problem, and command that all colleges and universities may not charge tuition, but provide free educations for one and all?

Well, it won't teach those kids and families anything, but it may secure more democrat votes for years to come. Let's ask the American taxpayer if they think it's a good idea to pay for all those loans taken out to attend a lot of lousy political colleges.

It sickens me that the Biden administration will be filled with a bunch of delusional people like Elizabeth Warren. "Defund the police"; "student loan forgiveness"; the "green new deal"; they really do believe money grows on trees. They are going to crash this country so fast it will make the absolutely horrific United 93 (September 11, 2001) look like a picnic.

Cloward-Piven, folks. Lock down the country, open the borders, cancel student debt, make gas prices skyrocket - as #10 says, to crash the country. Overwhelm the system and then usher in socialism.

Here's what I think the Left is planning: 1) with Harris-Biden in office, a protracted shutdown will take place; 2) Many more businesses will fail, as they have been struggling to get back on their feet from the shutdown that occurred last winter; 3) The Harris-Biden will promise to bail them out, but with many strings attached, meaning, they will be saddled with crippling regulations; 4) This scenario results in fascism, which is the precursor for, voila!!, communism. Mission accomplished.

Who cares about the national debt? Just print it up. Heck, give everyone with outstanding student loans a government certified printer and let them print whatever they need to pay off their student loans themselves. It's just paper after all.

Poster #4... spot on... it's time to fight back with taxpayer's money....don't pay your taxes... let DC try and rule a country without OUR money...I need a lawyer out there to confirm that a citizen can put money in an escrow account and claim their day in court as to their legal position....with taxes supposedly going up to 39% on large companies... the movement out of America will start if this greedy bunch isn't stopped...listen pochantas....take a chill pill or sage fumes...perhaps a beer with your husband....

Sweetie, here's a better idea.
Start a non-profit to help people pay their student loans.
People can choose if they want to donate.

I am delighted by the proposal of new Secretary Sacagawea to refund the student loans that I finished paying off in 1972. What interest rate will I be receiving in addition to the principle ? As I recall, I paid 7% interest on that loan. I'm willing to accept that, as long as it is compounded. I will expect my check by the end of January.

Only legislation can cancel student debt since it involves appropriations. Also it will be challenged on a discrimination basis, large loans vs small, vs no loans or paid loans. Funny they attacked TRUMP for lawfully diverting military funding to build the wall but its OK to divert money directly from the treasury without any legislation.

We've saved, opened 529's for all three of our kids when they were young so that we'd be prepared to pay for their college education. We have one left with only 2 semesters to go, no loans, no debt. So now they want me to pay for the debt of students who took out loans? No.
I'd image that 3/4 of the student debt comes with worthless degrees too. No, won't pay for that.
We recently asked my Father in Law who is a surgeon, now retired. We asked him how much "Medical School" was back in the 50's. He paid $600 Per Semester. the equivalent in today's dollars was around $3500. I looked up the average cost now for a Medical degree $150K-$375K The Universities are taking advantage and over charging. Of course they are all run by money grubbing liberal democrats too.

Does this mean i get a check for mine that i paid off on schedule as promised 35 years ago. Just how much is free school going to cost us. I currently pay 250 $/mo for k-12 and never had a child and only personally used 6 years of public school. I have only meager retirement income yet my property assessment has increased twice this year because my local schools r failing due to the past decades assault on our southern border. I would they should start with warrens and bidens money first.

You might read the linked letter from the Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School. Let's play along with the legal logic...in 1988, that would be the Reagan Administration, the Secretary of Education was given statutory authority to “enforce, pay, compromise, waive, or release any right, title, claim, lien, or demand, however acquired, including any equity or any right of redemption.”
Obviously the law was never intended for cancellation of all student loan debt, or any sort of general debt forgiveness. And here we are... Can't wait to hear any Democrat Secretary of Education nominee at confirmation hearings provide testimony...and watching the Pubbies shrink from battle over this. Hey, like those stimulus checks, it's only money from an empty Treasury vault.

#4, it may not be a good idea to not pay, but it sure seems like they won't care if they're 3, 5, 10 days late.
After all, they don't seem to think a voting deadline is a deadline, so why should a tax deadline be any different to them.

Castro and Che had a better idea:
shoot all the college intellectuals.
Just kill them before they could mount an opposition to themselves.
Like in cuba, these grads are even more liberal than AOC and would pull the Dem party so left that Biden would be seen as an old fogie and even an enemy.

After going through my kids' college funds during a long layoff in the early 2000s, I had to use the student loan program to finance three kids' education. The repayment got, much, much worse under Obama system. Finally, rolled these costs ($200K) into a home refinance at a much lower rate which is nearly paid off. And now I get to pay for the deadbeats who chose not to honor their obligations? What about the thousands of folks like me? Where do we get relief? They didn't run on this.

There she goes again! ...And she isn't the only one. Apparently all of the dem pols and academia no longer support the U.S. Constitution nor the principles of freedom for which it stands, as evidenced by the fact that they simply ignore the laws which have secured America's civil society throughout its entire history. The dem pols have themselves become lawless, living far above their mob pawns which they use to disrupt the lives of happy American citizens. Dem pols apparently can't stand happy Americans, much less, our ethics & morality. The dems' radical leftist policies in 2020 no longer look familiar to Americans who aren't accustomed to such dictates. The dems' policies now seem more representative of the enemies of freedom which the entire free world has fought against since the Declaration of Independence!
dem pols have no shame
