resident Trump has won the battleground state of North Carolina with its 15 electoral votes.
The Associated Press called the state for Trump Friday afternoon, 10 days after Election Day.
The call comes several days after former vice president Joe Biden was projected over last weekend to be the winner of the presidential election. His win in Pennsylvania put him over the 270 electoral vote threshold needed to win the presidency.
The only state the AP has yet to call is Georgia, where Biden leads by about 14,000 votes.

The decision is not made by the Associated Press. Its made by the Electoral College

Why are we reporting what AP says? To give them credit for calling NC for Trump, we credit them for calling WI, MI, and PA for Biden. We know President Trump won NC; we knew he won on election night.

AP et al keeping the horse race going, like the rest of them. Ratings folks, click bait.
Race is over. Nothing to do but count the LEGAL votes.
Then the Electoral College votes.
Then we have a president elect.

I think it is only about a 50-50 chance that the EC will be used this cycle.
I think that there is a good chance that this whole massive, intentionally fraudulent mess is too far gone to salvage and SCOTUS will possibly declare it to messed up to do anything and send it to the US House.
In this case, each state gets ONE vote, probably decided by the state legislature of each state. If that happens, there are 31 Republican states (controlling both state house and state senate) so I think that Trump wins handily in this case.
But....we are way out there in bizarro land, and this is unplowed ground.

If the election results are tossed and the House is tasked to vote for president and each state gets one vote, who represents the state? One of each state's congressional members who's party is in the majority?

#10, I don't think that it matters exactly "who" represents the individual states. AFAIK, the state legislatures will DIRECT some person how to vote. I don't think that the actual seated House members have a part in this if it goes down that route.
But....as I said, this is unplowed ground. Never been done, we'll be making history. I hope that it works out the way our absolutely genius Founding Fathers intended it to.

RE:#10:
The words of the 12th Amendment say:
"The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, ...and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice-President, and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate;–The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted;"
OK, this is the standard route. But what is the backup plan?
"...if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote;"
The 12th does not say explicitly how the "House of Representatives shall choose immediately by ballot....."
It seems like the State Legislature would be apprised in advance that this mess is coming and would have selected and instructed exactly who will vote that state's ONE vote, and how it will be voted.
But.....as I said - unplowed ground, and the 12th is not clear on exactly HOW the state chooses. Perhaps it is up to the state, that seems likely. And that means state legislatures deciding.
This is a whole trainload of works, not just a bucket.

#7, #11, and #12, very much appreciate the extra effort and analysis. If selecting the President in fact takes this route, everyone will be in for quite a civics lesson. Afterward, would be most happy to say that the Constitution (12th Amendment) as written will have withstood the test of time.
