Old and busted: We don’t need our police in our city! New hotness: We need your police in our city! Minneapolis’ city council, which spent most of the summer and fall demanding the ability to dismantle its police force, has now started begging for police officers from neighboring jurisdictions to help them deal with skyrocketing crime: Minneapolis officials are considering bringing in officers from other jurisdictions to help the city’s Police Department as they face a wave of violent crime and an officer shortage.
If the mayor and City Council approve the plan, officers from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and Metro Transit Police

I truly feel sorry for any law abiding citizens in Minneapolis that are suffering from the idiocy of their elected officials. But they did elect them, and now they are getting exactly what they should have known they were getting.
I truly hope the neighboring police tell Minneapolis "thanks but no thanks". Minneapolis, like most lie-beral cesspools, needs to burn to the ground before it can be reborn. They are just about there.
Lie-beralism is a mental disease. And when you let that mental disease control your city, you all suffer!!!

For the City Council members, you don’t need a seat at the table because A) your ideas betray all norms of critical thinking and/or B) you’re too stupid to know the difference.
Either option is not a good look.

Do it yourselves. You caused the problem. You sneered at our warnings. We're not helping you fix it.

FTA:We’re not gonna be having these people out taking bicycle theft reports. These are going to be people out combating crime issues
As if stealing bicycles is no longer a crime. Like the broken windows theory says, if you let people get away with smaller crimes, they eventually migrate to bigger crimes. They are criminals after all.

Words of the day for Minneapolis: "You've made your bed, now lie in it."
Has this sad can of worms changed how the city's residents have voted recently for their local public office candidates? My guess is not much, if any.

I suspect that the officers from other agencies would be working for the city as a "side-job", and getting paid a premium (1.5 X wages or more). Good planning there, Minnie.
I wouldn't work the job for 5X wages.
I'd rather take my chances disabling IEDs in some hell-holeistan.

While not directly related to this, I did find out how one liberal justified the riots in Portland. According to his friend on the ground there, only two blocks were destroyed by rioters (too bad so sad for those in the two blocks, but everywhere else was FINE). I guess "willful blindness" works--that is, until (as these people in Minneapolis discovered) reality mugs you.

Too bad Minneapolis. You voted to defund, and now you need to learn your idiotic policies have consequences. I certainly hope surrounding communities keep their cops. For they might need them at a moment's notice the way things are going.

Well, they should do what Seattle has done. After cutting funding for cops by about half and having dozens retire or resign, the city council is paying $150,000 for 'alternatives to policing', the man hired and is in charge? Is a pimp...no kidding.

Democrat-run cities should continue to celebrate looters and arsonists. Leave the place to the haters.

Does this mean that they can't afford to pay their personal police guards for the city council members?
Now it's getting rough, right?

Reminds me a bit of when the big corporations outsourced all the technical jobs and then had to hire back most of the employees as consultants at 3x the rate because no one had any legacy system knowledge.
