Years ago, a young man told me that his generation doesn't care about Rush Limbaugh or Rachel Maddow. Instead, they get their cultural and political information from podcasts and videos. And in the world of podcasts and videos, one of the biggest political stars is 36-year-old Ben Shapiro — who refused to vote for Trump in 2016. This time around, Shapiro has given Trump an enthusiastic thumbs-up, both because of Trump's proven history of conservative governance and because the Democrats have become insane.
In a statement that lasted less than nine minutes, Shapiro opened by succinctly stating the three reasons why he supports President Trump in 2020:

This has been in the making for the last 30 years or more. The left has become so radicalized as to become unrecognizable as an American political party. Aided and abetted by no-nothing Democrats and a brain washed, dumbed down, coddled younger generation, liberals are orchestrating a French Revolution where all opposition is demonized, hunted down and herded off to the political, social and cultural guillotine. The impeachment is an example of how they intend to conduct business where reality is irrelevant and the truth is decided by shouts of the mob. Nothing in the history of this country is comparable to what is happening today. The election is not about TRUMP, it's about a revolution coordinated, manipulated and funded by a masquerading political party.

Ben Shapiro can get on my last nerve with his machine gun style of speaking, but he is right to endorse the President. He has done what he has promised and if his tweets are unorthodox, they are effective. They are aimed at the very heart of the democrat party, it’s abject corruption. He spares no one and for the vast majority of time, they deserved it. His tweets have thrown the left off their game. No one has ever dared to speak to them that way and the truth is making them insane. They have abandoned all appearance of being reasonable. They have moved to Crazytown and they are not coming back. President Trump is the only game in town, Ben, and he is the best non-politician politician we have ever had. Good choice...maybe next time you won’t come so late to the party. I applaud that you, at least, came. Now get to work helping to re-elect the President.

Glad to have Shapiro's support. I have always had difficulty understanding why so many get so foolish about decorum, and seem to lose track of the important things.
FTA:
"What I believe Shapiro misses is that the same parts of Trump's temperament that allow him, rightly, to challenge an unhinged and biased media are also what drives those tweets and fights. They're a package deal. You cannot have the fighter America needs and, at the same time, deprive him of his chosen weapons."
I really am exasperated at all the shallow thinkers who imagine that in the fight to save our nation from becoming Venezuela and Russia all mixed into one, the biggest problem is the President might be a little rude at times. The left is discussing show trials and purges if they gain power and some on our side are worried that we shouldn't be rude or abrasive? How can they be so shallow?
It is like Patton, in some ways. Patton had his odd, vain, even dingbatty parts to his personality, but he was one of the best combat commanders, especially with armor, who ever fought on the battlefield. People who have genius and can function in these ultra high stress environments and out maneuver the enemy, and WIN are a rare and valuable commodity. That they will likely have some foibles should be understood as the price of their genius and strength at fighting. I doubt that there are many (any?) other men who could have withstood the hideous, fake, criminal, seditious, vicious personal and political attacks that President Trump has withstood over the last 4 plus years, and kept his cool anywhere near as well. Yes, there is an occasional outburst which isn't ideal, isn't politically correct - but what he has withstood is incredible.
I forgive him a few human foibles, thankful for his great heart, and his amazing ability to bounce back and keep fighting against all the criminals, traitors and fools arrayed against him, with 95% of the media lying about him every day, all day and ostensible allies stabbing him in the back politically on a regular basis.

What Ben Shapiro says in 9 minutes takes a regular person 18 minutes to say.
He is hugely popular with younger conservatives and very influential. How influential? His moving out of California, and the reasons for it, have convinced my two native-born boys to take their families and leave the state, for the same reasons Ben has listed. He absolutely convinced them it was time to leave.
Ben is intelligent, quick-thinking and excells in well-reasoned arguments. He is doing a lot to convince younger borderline voters to support Trump and conservative values.

I don't think this endorsement is all that important in the grand scheme of things, but it does show Benji is growing up. I will always applaud that. I remember how rabid he was in 2016. Good for you Benji for seeing reality, unlike the other fools who comprise that bunch of failures at the Lincoln project.

Many LDotters haven't liked Shapiro since he didn't vote for either candidate in 2016. (He was a resident of California. Big Deal.) He's a great voice for conservatism and calls a spade a spade. (He speaks fast, but crystal clear. I slow down the podcast.) What frustrates him about Trump are the same things that frustrate me; e.g., a knack for repeatedly stepping on his own message. As Shapiro's been saying this year, if the election's about Trump, Biden wins. If it's about Biden, Trump wins. Let's hope the president understands that this Thursday.

I would like to ask Shapiro the same question I've been wanting to ask Brandon Straka and all the Walkaway types: "What the hell took you so freaking long?" Shapiro has been carping on the President for four long years over trivialities. Over his demeanor, his pugnacious style, his grandiosity, and his oh so perfect family. Meanwhile, hard core leftist democrats have tried to overturn the Constitution and stage a slow motion coup against the President. I think that Shapiro has been way to proud of his own cleverness to grasp the issues at stake. So he comes down on the right side, but at the last possible moment. He would have been more helpful if he had shown his support earlier.

Glad that this pompous know it all FINALLY figured out the obvious. Another obsessive compulsive who can't see the forest for the trees. To stand by and not cast a vote for someone as obviously criminal as Hillary Clinton, isn't being 'objective' or above it all, that was just stupid and frankly cowardly. I'm glad he takes it to the enemy and is very good at smacking down brainwashed idiots, but normal thinking people would not have spent the last couple of years bragging about being neutral in 2016. That is about as brave as Sweden being neutral in 1940. BTW Ben, there were plenty of major Trump achievements to mention since 2016, but you had to weight that against your decorum scale. Let's see Peace between bitter MidEast countrys or the way he talks?
